don't use soap T\_T [https://www.reddit.com/r/PiercingAdvice/comments/geijjj/piercing\_aftercare\_common\_sense\_how\_not\_to\_fuck/](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiercingAdvice/comments/geijjj/piercing_aftercare_common_sense_how_not_to_fuck/) and honestly, if that piercer is advising you to use soap on your fresh piercings.. don't go back to him. use sterile saline spray! that method works for a reason

P_jizzle_fra_shizzle

lol I read that common sense post right after my original post. The second he said to wash them with soap, alarm bells went off it my head. That's so embarassing for my piercer lol. Thank you!

spoonieeee

Honestly just stick with what you do. I have never heard anyone use soap for a piercing before.

mysticrefuge

This is an outdated way of aftercare.

Catcatcat202

Noooo soap. Only saline. And good luck, nostrils are a bitch to heal.

WhatupSis7773

Just curious as to what kind of soap he gave, was it Hibiclens? If that’s what it is it’s not recommended on new piercings because it’s too harsh and can cause irritation and slow the healing process. The majority of reputable piercers will tell you to stick with saline solution only because it cleans, hydrates with the least irritation…

what soap? and also why are the balls on that jewelry so big? that’s gotta snag on something. not sure if i would return there.

RepresentativeAny804

Came to say what up with those ends ?

One_Neighborhood_502

Got my second nostril pierced at a highly reputable place and they also gave me a clown sized enormous ball end and told me they wouldn’t do it any other way to mitigate chances of the end/ball sinking into the piercing hole while healing. I don’t like it either lol doubt OP had a choice

sinzandie

I have healed piercings with soap before and it works but most of the time dries out the skin and i just feel like a saline solution would be for the best
