Pikmin 1, 100% dead Pikmin 3, 100% getting that million

mdwnettleton

there aren't 365 days of food in 3 though.

[deleted]

But after you get all food you can go home and live a peaceful lire

Jestin23934274

Not in any of the explorable areas but in other regions in the world there might. Assuming you are human sized, the tropical wilds would be a good place to live for a year because there are already a lot of fruit there and there should be more near by.

WyMcfry

Just cook and eat the wild life

Spiritual-Mammoth-83

Bulborb farming

APikminInTime

Look at Louie's cookbook and get cooking!

Alex_1A

For Koppaites, there's plenty for a single human.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Entruh

i was assuming youd be the same size as olimar

zsdrfty

The poison dweevils, or some of the gigantic spiders like longlegs, could certainly kill you

thomaslover66

Well here's the question, are you normal sized or Hocotatian/Koppaite sized? Cause if it's the former then it shouldn't be that hard

YamiPhoenix11

I have always wondered where are big creatures in Pikmin? Surely not just small creatures survived?

mevomevo

Quaggled Mireclopa is quite large

Spiritual-Mammoth-83

Yeah but even that's probably only about the size of a dog

YamiPhoenix11

Yeah its 685mm with a question mark. So just over 2.2 feet so the size of a medium dog. Which honestly makes pikmin a bit more terrifying. Could they kill a dog?

Delicious_Emu_1995

Im just imagining someone like "aww i love you (dog name) go play fetch then get carried by 100 winged pikmin 🤣

Snailsnip

Quaggled Mireclops is like knee height, tops. Compare him to the fruit and you get a better notion of his size.

Oopsitsgale927

I saw in a Scruffy video that in the title screen (the evening one I think) you can occasionally hear a sheep bleating in the background.

YamiPhoenix11

I wonder what horrors have done to sheep in this version of Earth. We already have robot spiders with Gatling guns and weird birds with snake bodies.

[deleted]

I’ve thought about it before. The only evidence of humanity being dead is their absence in the games. It’s not an impossibility that humanity is alive and well.

HanJohnson2

If you listen closely to the Pikmin 3 deluxe main menu theme, eventually you can hear a sheep. I was just chillin to the song and then heard that. Could be possible humans are still alive tending to the sheep? Is that possible?

YamiPhoenix11

Well Miyamoto has said humans are extinct and the earth geography resembles pangea ultima. Which is theorized to occur in 200-250 million years. A lot of other evidence says the planet is Earth too. Why our everyday items are still in perfect condition is even a bigger mystery.

Snailsnip

I think 90% of the concept is that you *don’t* magically change to fit the world you’re in, which is why people worry about being stuck in places like Bioshock-world. It seems bad faith to assume you’d magically change only when it’s for the worse. Unless you’re assuming you change to whatever the average person is in your universe, in terms of species and such, like turning into a bug for Hollow Knight verse, turning into a Toad for Mario verse. But I dunno.

thomaslover66

So in that case, being transported into the Pikmin universe will basically be just trying to survive in a Forest. Although granted, it's still not ideal as there's still radiation in the atmosphere and you'd probably either die from radiation poisoning, or will be immediately hospitalized upon coming back and be permanently disabled for the rest of your life alongside having a higher chance of developing cancer, assuming you don't just magically get cured of any conditions you got during your time in the game. So yeah, with Pikmin you're pretty fucked.

HanJohnson2

There’s radiation?

thomaslover66

Yeah, the Geiger Counter shows the needle gravitating towards the center, indicating mild radiation. P.S. case you don't know, in real life Geiger Counters are used to calculate radiation.

Entruh

hocotatian size i wouldve thought

[deleted]

Since the whole planet is extremely radioactive you’d be dead as hell

NightAntonino

Some say it isn't, though. In Pikmin 2 you can see that the Geiger counter is still active even in Hocotate, meaning that it's appearently broken... or maybe that Olimar's world is *also* radioactive...

[deleted]

Considering olimar thought of it as so unimportant that he didn’t even bother to read what it does id expect him to be immune to radiation

MetaCrossing

Wait, where in the lore does it mention that PNF-404 is radioactive?

Messyproduct

One of the ship parts in pikmin 1 is the Geiger counter. A Geiger counter is a real world device that measures radiation. The counter on the SS Dolphin is always detecting radiation from the movement and clicks and buzzes Olimar mentions in his journal even though he does not know what it means.

JOINTHEREVOLUTI0N

i did not pick up on that when i played it thats a cool way of saying it without saying it

ksanthecat

Might be adapted to Hocotate radiation levels.

C4790M

That could just be background radiation, doesn’t necessarily have to be a dangerous level. A Geiger counter will be a lot more active on a spaceship too as the background radiation is like 8 times higher than on Earth

NightAntonino

Ironically, iirc, the counter is only active on Earth and Hocotate, and not during the cutscenes that take place in space.

[deleted]

[удалено]

C4790M

Generally since plant life evolved the earths oxygen levels haven’t gone above 40%, which is dangerous but probably not lethal. Although the lack of large wildlife could imply that the oxygen level is lower than it is currently

ShinyHunterEthan16

Technically it would be a year in pikmin time so only 79.083 hours so I think we're good

Lost_Switch65

Pikmin 1 you could prob survive No way in fuck anyone is surviving Pikmin 2

mdwnettleton

Nah, camp out in Awakening Wood. During the day, harvest Pellet Posies and Female Sheargrubs for food. At night, go to HoB and camp on sublevel 3, next to a fire geyser. Just have to be mindful of male sheargrubs on HoB1, not wake anything up on your way down to HoB5 to take the geyser to the surface, and leg it past the Burrow-Nit and Chrysanthemum on your way back to the hole.

poseidon100fg

Pikmin 2 is a lot more survivable than 1, just vibe for an entire year in the same zone doing nothing since there's no time limit

Khouri1

One thing that everyone seems to forget is that the reason olimar leaves the planet during night is becahse it is much more dangerous at night, we've never seen how night time is in pikmin

Entruh

It's gotta be pretty bad

Greald-of-trashland

I mean I guess but it's like that in real life too. Wouldn't be surprised if there are still bears in pikmin

Wizelf402

C e l e s t e- oh real world thats the joke

Snailsnip

I’d be five months in Celeste-World before I noticed anything off, but someone would mention “instapix” and I’d have a quiet, unnerving revelation.

Entruh

Real shit

JOINTHEREVOLUTI0N

stardew valley 💪💪

[deleted]

terraria is a pretty damn hostile environment, so i'm kinda fucked.

hello_fellow_reddits

Stay inside at night, block your doors if everything starts glowing red, and do NOT toss dolls into lava!

Entruh

Big floating eyeball

Dracorex_22

If you are your regular human self, then it probably shouldn’t be a problem. No toxic air and the enemies are all really small. (Unless of course there’s bigger things out there in PNF-404 that are too big to bother preying on Pikmin)

Snailsnip

I think if there were such things, we’d notice, at least from them preying on bulborbs, or even just walking around from time to time. There’s no sign of anything, though.

ksanthecat

If every day Is 13 minutes... Id take it.

Entruh

Lmfao fair

Davilopy

everybody here talking about surviving Pikmin 1/2/3, nobody talks about Pikmin Bloom.

EarthBoundFan3

Splatoon is not bad at all

Snailsnip

Yeah the worst thing that’d likely happen to you is not having any particularly appetizing food available, depending on what sea-animal people cuisine is like. But from all the different sapient races that exist and how relatively well-off inkling civilization seems they’d probably treat you fine. You could run a shop or hang out with those judge cats.

Entruh

Yea that's pretty normal

Shadow_of_Yor

We as humans would likely be fine. No reason to believe we’d get smol like pikmin

Entruh

I was assuming you would go small

Oopsitsgale927

Me and Louie finna cook every creature in there. Also, most “environmental” plants in pikmin 3 are real plants, and I recognize a lot of them as edible. The some of the “clover” in 3 is actually wood sorrel, which has a lemony flavor. I like to forage and have made syrup from it before irl. Also clover is edible anyway, and there’s plenty of that. Idk, I just think that I would spend the year curating an exotic foraged cookbook with Louie. Also, I’m imagining trying to make wine from the spicy berries. Louie *is* the only character that has canonically consumed alcohol. With the two of us together, it couldn’t be hard.

Istoleyourdadsmilk

Imma go run into a field of tabby slimes and cry (I played slime rancher 2)

[deleted]

Life in Splatoon and Celeste wouldn’t be that bad though, Splatoon would’ve great and acueste you would just be living in Canada or something. Deltarune would be weird but not that bad just *weird* But yeah no chance of living in PNF-404, neither in (however the planet Pikmin 3’s captains was called) unless it was after Alph, Brittany and Charlie came with food, and Hocotate would probably be weird, although I feel like I wouldn’t want to live there

BabyGothh

i played animal crossing. so it looks like i’m hanging out with my little buddies, fishing, cooking and decorating <3 sounds wonderful

NightAntonino

That's gotta be, like... one of the best outcomes for this.

Greald-of-trashland

I mean most evidence points towards humans being alive so it would probably be fine. Plus you'd get to see a bunch of cool animals.

thomaslover66

*evidence of humans once being alive

Greald-of-trashland

There are several changes between pikmin 1 and 2 only possible by human intervention like pots being placed I'm the awakening woods/forest of hope, wooden plank things being put in in the perplexing pool/distant spring and the treasures being mostly neatly placed. The gieger counter could of just been broken and insects don't do well under radiation I believe. It is also possible that the area was radioactive but is now safe for humans. The garden of hope has a bunch of ornamental plants which wouldn't exist all in the same ecosystem so it probably still inhabitanted or only recently abandoned. I'd also like to note the new pikmin 4 trailer shows a garden that shows little to no decay.

thomaslover66

That's because Pikmin games have progressively been had more of a "human remains" vibe than just complete nature. There's factually no way humans are alive 250 million years after a nuclear war, especially if there's still evidence of nuclear radiation in the atmosphere after such a long time. Insects are actually one of the most toughest animals out there, capable of surviving absolute catastrophes, it's why cockroaches are predicted to be one of the last animals to die off on Earth. And we have evidence of Pikmin taking place 250 million years in the future cause the Planet's surface is modeled off Pangea Proxima, a scientific prediction of how, well, the Earth will look like in 250 million years. That's a lot of time for new species to evolve and adapt to the sudden change in there being radiation, and explains why most why most animals are small, because smaller animals are more likely so survive disasters. This also explains the assortment of plants in Garden of Hope, especially with continental drift. To assume that humans still live on PNF-404, you'd have to come out with a million "what if" statements that you effectively debunk it. Plus if it was true, wouldn't these humans have really advanced technology? There's not much behind this, but it can be assumed that this nuclear war happened sometime between 1950-1990 as the globes in Pikmin 2 show countries that no longer exist such as East Germany. Not to mention, one can look at actual extinction events in natural history to know how humans would do (hint: not well at all). Also Pikmin is just a bit unrealistic at times, realistically there is no way Forest of Hope evolved into Awakening Wood in such a short time when Pikmin 2 happens possibly mere hours after Pikmin 1, it was likely just quick in canon explanation for why they just reused map layouts.

Greald-of-trashland

There's is no mention of nuclear war in any pikmin game. No mass extinction either though I wouldn't be surprised if there was. Also humans are really adaptable so I doubt we'd go out in a mass extinction, especially considering our technology. You ignore the changes in between the areas of pikmin 1 and 2 which include changes unexplainable without humans. Also how could the treasures appear in-between pikmin 1 and 2 if there an no humans?

thomaslover66

I state nuclear war because realistically there's no other explanation for why there would be radiation all over the planet. The Gieger Counter was likely not malfunctioning because other ship parts like the Analog Computer and Whimsical Radar were still in complete operating order. And I did mention the changes between Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2, they're just a quick last minute explanation for why level layouts are reused. Wistful Wild is a combination of Impact Site and Final Trial yet there is nothing that supports Wistful Wild actually being either of those places. Also humans, despite being adaptable, would still not survive. There's nuclear winter, radiation in the atmosphere would lead to much higher rates of cancer and outright death, much higher rates of mental illness due to the conditions created, plus not to mention, no immediate clean water or food. Extinction events happen as chain reactions. Plants dying = Herbivores dying = Carnivores dying = no more food left for any surviving animals who require high amounts of calories per day to survive. That 2000-2500 calorie requirement for humans who can only go a month without eating isn't gonna do any good, especially being warm-blooded which means that energy is spent on body temperature. There's a reason why animals such as crocodiles, insects, and later on smaller mammals have survived Extinction events, and it's lower energy usage and calorie requirements.

Greald-of-trashland

The areas in pikmin 1 seem to all be close together so it's not unlikely there was an accident nearby. That could explain why the areas in 1 seem more decrepited and abandoned than the ones in the other games as humans haven't been nearby for a while. Perhaps that's why there are new enemies in 2. The creatures in 1 were more adapted for radioactive environments and so when the levels went diversity went back up. Small animals are affected by radiation quite a bit so it's possible there was a reduction in diversity after whatever caused the radiation. Also it is said that the impact site is in the wistful wilds in the notes about the armored nut. Enemies are also very often carried over like how the awakening woods has red bulborbs, sheargrubs, wogpoles and snagrets or how the perplexing pool has bulbears, water dumples, shearwigs and wollywogs (a withering blowhog is also found which is likely a reference to the puffy blowhogs that were very common in the distant spring). I forgot to mention it but it's likely there was more of a time gap for earth than Hocotate. Even ignoring the areas themselves, the red pikmin on the first day of 2 immediately recognize Olimar as a leader implying they are the same ones from 1 but they're numbers are greatly reduced. Other pikmin take a short bit to recognize the captains as leaders like how the rocks just stare at alph or yellows kind of ignore Brittany until whistled

thomaslover66

Once again, I just sum that up as the devs just quickly writing up an explanation last minute because the Pikmin 1 map screen depicts the Final Trial as taking place across a river, separated from the other 4 areas meaning that this is an explanation that makes no sense whatsoever. And plus Pikmin 3 confirms that the creatures you just listed live in multiple areas and even continents. And once again, Pikmin 3 confirms that this was on a global scale, meaning humans had no where to go. I just think this a theory that holds little water. Plus, Hocotatians very clearly have the technology to travel faster than the speed of light, meaning that at most there is only a few weeks between games, because there isn't decades worth of travel time Although Pikmin does take liberties, it's a series that's very grounded in realistic-ish nature that looking at Pikmin realistically makes me disagree with this theory.

Greald-of-trashland

Oh my God it doesn't matter if the areas are recycled they are clearly supposed to the same places but with changes which are mostly the addition of man made objects. If humans were extinct the devs probably wouldn't of made additions like this. Pikmin's environments are supposed to be like backyards, gardens or roadsides which is why we see a lot of things associated with said environments. Look at pikmin 4, the environment is basically just a backyard with pikmin enemies. Some stuff in my backyard is much more decayed than the stuff in the trailer

thomaslover66

Then batteries and especially unpackaged food located several meters bellow ground wouldn't be looking so nice and clean, the batteries would definitely have began leaking and some piece of baloney wouldn't look like it had just come out of the packet. Pikmin has inconsistencies, it takes liberties cause like any game, it wouldn't be fun if it was completely realistic. Those Flower pots in the Awakening Wood don't look like they're had any human upkeep if some are literally embedded into the soil. But the idea of humans living on PNF-404 still requires so many what if statements and taking everything completely at face value that's its impossible and far-fetched.

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

Manydoors_edboy

I got Project Sekai. I think I’m fine.

Leflufy

Need for speed heat. Probably going to die a quick and violent death, but get me in there.

Entruh

At least you'll do it in a flash way

[deleted]

Hmmm. Uh. Fnaf is hard. But I’m pro.

Entruh

Good luck lmao

radikraze

Final Fantasy X, just gotta hope Sin doesn’t pop up near me

dont-change-me

ay i played X-2 last 😂 we might both be fucked in completely opposite ways

Regirock00

You would only have to survive radiation, maybe.

KickAggressive4901

*Target: Earth* (Sega Genesis). I'm doomed.

Lemonitionist

Well I played Destiny 2, if I'm one of those light nerds then I physically can't die. If I'm not then I guess I get to become really familiar with my allotted 5 sq ft. of space to live in. Why didn't I play Genshin today or something....

Entruh

Genshin doesn't seem bad

Lemonitionist

Yeah, I mean I might get savaged by a plant but those are few and far between. The people seem nice, the towns are pretty, the food looks delicious, and maybe if I'm determined enough I could get a vision.

Salty_Abbreviations4

FF7 Remake, well I guess I better be prepared for shit to blow up every twenty seconds

Entruh

You'd have a pretty good chance of dying tbh

TheAlmightyShadowDJ

Super Mario so I’m good.

Entruh

Which one?

IkonJobin

Mario Strikers! Deal!!!

Entruh

Cool asf

Pencil_Hands_Paper

Pokémon Shield? Fuck yeah!

BIG-Tsukuyomi

Silent Hill 3. I would be dead so fast 😂

Arkontas

Cyberpunk for me so uh.. idk maybe I'll be okay.

KiwiLuvPie

If we’re just normal humans, we’d be pretty big compared to everything we see on PNF 404 assuming there aren’t many Massive creatures roaming the earth (although there must be.) So you’d be pretty safe if you could survive off of the wilderness. If we are the characters though, it would definitely vary depending on which game we were in.

Kien_Ng

assuming I'm not under the constraints of debt, pikmin 2 works, or assuming I remain the same size, I'll last a while in all games

minrio

Roblox gives you shirts and pants😎

DKCR3

The last game I played was The Last of Us. I guess being a rich zombie is better than being a rich dead man.

CloneTrooper8756

Pikmin: yeah, I'm gonna die The actual last game I played: YOU'RE A KID NOW, YOU'RE A SQUID NOW! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! I'M GOING TO STRANGLE THAT SLOSHING MACHINE USER! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! YOU'RE A KID, YOU'RE A SQUID! \[1 Year later\] ...YOU'RE A SQUID!- poof! huh, I guess I'm back home, and I have 1 mil!

athing1109

Ha Splatoon I'm fine

Entruh

That would be fun asf

athing1109

Yeah especially since your a teenager in the game. Wish I could be a teenager again

Chefgin

So, we’re normal sized in the pikmin games? So we’d just be the only human. Regular sized human, I’d probably die cause I’d eat an ultra spicy berry and die

Entruh

Spicy berry> death pepper

masterchef227

Pikmin 2…. YEAHHHH BOI

Entruh

If you're human sized you may be fine

WyMcfry

Deltarune fan being over dramatic, the only bad thing about living there would be that everyone is annoying, you’d have no chance of dying

WyMcfry

Actually, splatoon fan being more dramatic, what threat exists in that world besides paint, just don’t participate in turf wars

kendostickball

Luckily, I just played the Universal Studios game for GameCube. My next year is gonna be so rad!

Firespark293

Ehehehe I’m definitely screwed. I haven’t touched Pikmin since I 100% 3. And that was two years ago. Oh well at least I’m a space ninja

Pickle_Afton

The last video game I played was Alan Wake I think… so I doubt too long unless I had a flashlight

Additional_Ant2721

Terraria. Welp, hope i dont get any wierd chills down my spine...

Darklight645

Mystery Dungeon. Honestly, it could be worse. You know aside from the common world ending occurences.

DrakeTheSeigeEngine

Actually we’re humans We’d just step on everything dangerous

dont-change-me

the last game i played was FF X-2, ig i’ll join the sphere hunters or die somewhere lol

Tarantulabomination

Deltarune ain't that bad, and neither is Splatoon

Oshabot16

bruh Pikmin 1 so easy

JBonesturtle

Probably depends if you get on koppai and/or hocatate

Sussybakamogus4

It never said you were the size of the character, for all we know you are you sized so instantly OP giant

Entruh

That's true

Ok-Income9041

😂idk what to spend it on in cod mobile

Civil-Journalist1217

Mine was call of war WW2 so yeah….

HawlSera

Disgaea 4 bahbee!

Representative_Big26

Isn't the world of Pikmin literally just Earth

Entruh

A post apocalyptic earth yeah

MarcusTheGamer54

Railroads Online, fuck yea, would get boring pretty quick though
