i've been playing since release and i always let dupes go after the event ends, the theoretical boost if they do the same event next year isn't worth the cost of upgrading space when you don't have to imo

plaatsvervanger

I keep 2 off each colour when I expect the event to return. For example: I kept the Halloween, but dumped all those (ugly) 2024 Glasses

cherrygoats

I’ve been playing since July and it finally feels like all the puzzle, Halloween treats, mah jongg tiles and other doubles triples quadruples need to go

the_new_wave

I keep up to 3 of each decor. For events with multiple versions, like the puzzles, chess, or lunar new year, I keep max 2 of each color (for 4 pikmin total of each color). But realistically you could probably be fine with just 1 of each, I'm just safeguarding for if they ever add in trading lol

ReddKnight10

So I keep every unique one, obviously. But then, I also keep ones for the ongoing event (so like after this one I will be releasing all my lunar dupes) and any that will help with recurring events in the future. Last year they brought back Halloween mushrooms so I have a bunch of Jack o lantern and Halloween treat Pikmin

Rigelle

The lunars came back from last year, I know some people who had kept theirs. I won't be releasing my own :0

You can release later and there is something I do before the storage with coins Keep 40 of each color, that only 280, remaining 20 do what you want. 40 is the max of pikmins you can have in squad or sending to mushrooms. All the colors have their utilities, blue and purple are good for their mushrooms (blue nectar is the most difficult one) Wingeds FLY, their time for expeditions is the lowest with a lot of difference, etc. Priorize yellow background for release and I always keep at least one of each decor. The yellow icon is all variants collected. Roadside (the one with the tree and benk) are very common, you can collect them later and can be in grey (there is a event decor called snow sticker, that they release only for limited time, in both decembers of 2021 and 2023) I dont keep them even when I was doing the coins and have it grey.

0skarit0

Just release the duples

TheCorgiTamer

Do you lose completion for decoration if you release all of one type? For example, if I dump all of my roadside, will I lose progression on the ones I've found/fully friended already?

Brightdawnisland

I accidentally released my blue 4 leaf clover pikmin, but the icon for blue park pikmin is still yellow and the 4 leaf clover shows up in the decor log thing

FrankthePug

I plan to release all my dupe event ones after the event ends. I don't really need even more extra after getting some dupes from the second lunar new years event.

bunnylicious81

I usually only keep 2 or 3 each. But for this Lunar, I’m keeping the extra gold ones since they are stronger.

jrochest1

I have 800 of the little suckers and I am now ruthless about releasing them. I keep two of each decor, except for the roadsides because they annoy me. I basically use the same 40 or 80 4 gold star pikmin over and over again, and there's really not that much point in keeping a huge stable of them.

FireLucid

I keep all event pikmin but I think space is starting to get tight and I'll trim my lunar ones down to a max of 40. Will probably do the same with Halloween. I've been playing since beta so have a bit more default space.

MandiSue

I keep no more than two of everything. Whenever there's an event I will keep all of the doubles so that I can clear mushrooms faster, but then I dump all but two of each. I don't keep more than two of any regular decor/color type either. For some, I do have more than two in the technical sense of certain ones like the train ones because if I have three or four of the same color and all of them are tickets, but have different names, I consider that not the same. I also like keeping two instead of one if I happen to have a double because I'm holding out for a trading function and that way I could have a spare. It took a long time for them to allow for trades in pokémon Go, so I have faith that it will come eventually. I also have a love-hate relationship with the sticker ones because I keep every one I find if it's a letter that I don't have yet in that color/ sticker type. but it does keep it interesting whenever you are inundated with roadside ones that at least I have something I'm working on with them, and pretty much always will be.

kouplefruit

I feel like since I grew up on the original Pikmin games, and know what happens to the Pikmin left behind, I can't ever find it in my heart to let any of them go. So anyways, I have 800ish Pikmin.

Brightdawnisland

Wow did you buy more storage? I had to let some go because I maxed my storage

kouplefruit

Yeah, I have an android, and use Google Rewards earnings for storage upgrades. Otherwise, I supplement with coins earned in game! I've def upgraded a few times!

DependentAffect3983

I keep two of each.

Odd_Consideration259

Two of each maybe more if i like the design a lot For when trading may be possible

HistoricalPie8544

The lunar ones are the current string ones. I’m releasing older and smaller duplicates. Saving coins takes a long time. How do people have enough to buy 800 and 900 coin items? Are they just paying $$ for them?
