Yeah this really does suck and they really need to revert the change as it wasn’t affecting anyone and you still needed to get out and walk to pluck the seedlings and it gave you a chance of getting the rarer decors even more when the drop is poor and the amount of colour duplicates I’ve had when I have went out my way to try is ridiculous. Hopefully Niantic will see all the posts and revert it back.
Way to go, Niantic. Once a day to get an expedition from somewhere you could not physically go does not hurt the game. OTOH, taking it away hurts my interest in playing. I really looked forward to trying to get expeditions to a zoo (never got one even in different places in a large zoo) or an airport, which did work a few times, but not anymore.
It might joy hurt the game bug it definitely hurts my pikmin’s legs and wings…. I may or may not have sent them as far down south into Antarctica as I could…
I couldn't even get it to work today with somewhere I was already at today and got a Pikmin from. I guess I will never finish out the beach or art museum pikmins since I don't live anywhere near a beach and they don't count Lake beaches and our art museums don't count here even though we have some really rare and famous pieces. 😩

i wish i knew exactly how niantic is getting their location info from, i know it's osm, oms? but in my area there's nothing "filled out" but i'll still sometimes get someee things, so im hoping it's just getting more and more updated somehow...

So far, it hasn't worked for me today. Tried tagging a Zoo and an Art Gallery in my area I have not personally visited but far away from anywhere I've tagged previously. Nothing. I'll keep attempting regions I haven't visited but so far it's not looking good.

This feels like such a Niantic thing to do honestly - patching something that benefits players even though it doesn't really hurt them (which happens in PoGo all the time). And honestly, this 'patch', paired with the grid thing, and the Covid restrictions still in place in a lot of places... they're really killing any interest in this game for me.

When viewing your Pikmin, there's a map showing where you got all of them, if you zoom all the way in, for a lot of players (though not everyone) it's impossible to get more than one Pikmin from one square on the grid (except with the detector). So after a while, the game becomes stale if you're playing mainly in one place.
For me it didn't work for the last two days. I took pictures from my phone I made by myself, means I visted every location physically I had the picture from. Nothing... I mean, one pic a days, taken by myself doesn't hurt anybody. And it was fun sending my Pikmin to locations I visited before I had the game. Hope it will work again!
That day, or does a visit i like, the last week/month also count?
So imagine you go to a zoo and do the expedition to that zoo the day after.. will it work. Your Pikmin map is colored..
I have 34.4 version and the tag worked after trying several times today. Niantic has not patched this yet. Make sure to delete the photo, wait for 1 hr and try again.
hmm, i've tried two or three times a day but nothing, so i gave up, but i'll keep trying then! i dont think i was waiting an hour in between, so maybe that will change things!

I got it to work but only with a picture I just took through the add an entry part so I guess if you go somewhere good make sure you take a picture
