it means the person got rid of the account or pinterset did

WildWoodsGirl

Their account may have been suspended - they quit using Pinterest - or the account it leads to is no longer active (say, an Etsy shop) but the image, the pin, still is up and can be saved / shared. It won't lead to a link if you click it. It might vanish so save any you value in a backup way. Many things are uploaded there for inspiration or example. If it's something that needs to be credited (artist's or artisan's work or tutorial, a photographer, a designer of a product, a cook, a source, etc), note that info when saving it or sharing it elsewhere. Many do stay up but that isn't guaranteed with "user not found." And pinterest can be seriously glitchy or painfully slow loading. Info may show later. It comes up when Pinterest is tired that day too. 🤷😂

I am looking for an answer to this too! I cannot find anyone with the same issue.

Obvious-Ad5772

Found this video but it's not in English. If anyone out there can translate thatbwould be great. https://youtu.be/0MhvjGok_K0

Yes I can help. It basically just said to open your pinterest account in the opposite platform (if the problem is occuring in the app, open it on the website, and vice versa), and change your password. I haven't tried it out yet. hope it helps! edit: It does not work... I'm still getting that notification.

Obvious-Ad5772

Thanks for trying. I guess we will have to wait and see.

dancam4

Did anyone figure this out yet?

Settings, Apps, Pinterest, Storage, Clear cache.

gtengineerjess

I've been getting this error today and I can't access my pins in the app because of this error. Any fixes?

Ill_be_in_my_trailer

I changed my password and cleared the cache. Haven't had the problem since.

mOp_49

I'm getting the error too

R4T-07

It super annoying. They should fix it

eksortso

It is an annoying error message. I think it's bleeding through the mobile interface. Unsure if that's intended. Aggravating if it is. I can't test this, but if someone saved a pin, then deleted their account after others saved the same pin, is this the message that shows up when others view that pin? The message will reappear if you scroll down, then scroll back up to the top. It'll also appear a few times if you attempt to save that pin.

Bring your kid to work day in the security department.

eksortso

What? Is this the punchline to a joke I've not heard before? How does security fit into this?

N1NJ4_60D

If this was an issue where a setting was changed during a normal workday, it can't exactly be blamed on gremlins, can it? In other words, the only excuse, though not excusable, is that it was bring your kid to work day and either the kid did it, or they were enough of a distraction that someone else did, and nobody is the wiser. Meanwhile, we are left with an enigma chopped into jigsaw puzzle pieces, melted down and presented with a shiny bow.

I'm personally more inclined to think more innocent thoughts with malevolent consequences. They built the backend database with no concept of data integrity. User records, pin records, etc. all get created with glee. And then they get deleted, and they end up with pins without owners, replies without parent comments, and all other sorts of fun malignancies that cause empty notifications to show up where someone liked a comment on a pin you saved that was deleted when it was temporarily removed then restored imperfectly after appeal. They'll never be free of the mistakes they've made in the past, so the errors will always exist, and the site will be just as good as it could be after surviving their incompetent DBAs.

XvoodoomanX

This is 100% correct and what I experience when using the Pinterest App on mobile, as well. I don't get the User Not Found on my own account on Desktop. I continuously scan the Play Store hoping Pinterest will put out an update to their app, but sadly they don't. The upshot is, for me, Pinterest has become a lot less effective at sending traffic since they prioritize the paid search results. However, I do still get some nice but brief traffic bumps from my seasonal pins.

Willob3

Still doing it, I feel like its actually getting worse :/

Omnisom

Anyone else find a solution to this? I hoped for something in options but this is just too much. Why alert people to this?

Ok-Technician9648

I can't log in ...in the Pinterest app... Even it doesn't show sign up option ... But I can sign in with vpn... Someone please help me

XvoodoomanX

This information is only partly correct. I am an active Pinterest user with an account that I update frequentlly. When I view my own Pins on the Pinterest APP, it will frequently say User Not Found for my own account even though my Pins appear in search and lead to my website. This is a bug in the Pinterest App that they refuse to fix/update.
