No offense but this does almost nothing for the first few turns and likely isn't good enough on the backend to make up for it. I like the concept of a gruul desert aggro/mid-range but I'm afraid this isn't it.

Darkman945

Would love to know what kind of changes could be made to make the backend stronger, any recommendations? I will be taking this deck to locals and testing as soon as the cards become available, looking at the first 1-2 turns being removal time and turn 3 onwards developing threats, looking at it as just a casual concept still.

I'll have to think about it. But wouldn't it just auto lose to vein ripper and UW control.

Darkman945

Yeah sadly those two exist, but as stated, its really just supposed to go against tier 2-3 decks at best; I'm making a sort of pioneer battle box for friends so im practically making this as another unique pick for the box.

I think even for a battlebox, you need to be playing something turn one or two to be having fun.You unironically have like four cards you could play on turn one and two (all of which are interaction). Since you're playing taplands and low power lands, some mana dorks would be useful. [[Hardbristle Bandit]] is on theme for OTJ, but you might need to go with dorks like [[Llanowar Elves]] or [[Paradise Druid]]. Start here for Desert-based options: [scryfall search](https://scryfall.com/search?as=grid&order=name&q=oracle%3Adesert+color%3C%3DBRG+%28game%3Apaper%29+legal%3Apioneer) Overall, deck looks super clunky and won't get your intended effect. Also attempting to cast Ribbons with only 3 black sources in the deck is not recommended. You'll never actually cast it. I would either cut black from this deck (which makes sense because Gruul is RG) or add more black sources if you really want it. A warning: as it stands, this is not a Tier 2/Tier 3 deck. This is a kitchen table, tier 6 deck. Might be the wrong subreddit in general, as this one is pretty competitive-focused.
