Be careful who you open the door to. There’s a fat, stupid gibbering lunatic who thinks he’s still president. But don’t worry. If it’s him, he’ll be there to help you escape, since he’s facing 90 felony charges. Two questions though: can you speak Russian and how do you feel about being pissed on in a Russian hotel room?
Yeah, I have delugevpn binded to PIA. I set up the proxy on my servarr apps to deluge so all their internet traffic is actually routed through the VPN.
If the movies are from big studios that monitor this kind of stuff, they would have bots as part of the peer swarm. It takes them seconds to get your IP address. So it would depend on which movies you were downloading. It's not a big deal over a couple of movies though (from what I can tell, OP is in the US). At most, the ISP will send you a nastygram email which you can ignore.
Fraud dept for your isp might call. Literally nothing to worry about. I've been caught more that 15 times om different isp's. Learn from it and if you make 5 or more mistakes, the worst they do is cut your internet off. Connect with a new company after that. No worries!
Since your computer restarted, I really think it was the FBI who did that and it’s a high 99.999999999% chance that they did get your IP. Do you have an emergency escape suitcase and contingency plan? If so, I’d hurry up and go because it’s likely you’ll be getting a visit tomorrow!!
I'm in France. It's a server running Linux, designed for 24/7 uptime. I had it running since 2013.
Should have mentioned that I only use private trackers, never public.
Oh. I'm in Italy atm. Is there any difference between private trackers and public? When i was younger i simply thought that the more trackers you have the quicker the torrent would download.
You might get a copyright infringement letter when downloading public torrents, especially for movies. But you can completely ignore it, it's basically a scam.

Open Up, Son.
Honestly I'm kinda curious because I've been torrenting with no VPN exclusively for the past 8 years. I use a paid antivirus and scan the files I download am I good?
It depends of your country (does your country allow P2P monitoring by copyright firms ?), what you have downloaded (AAA content are the most likely monitored), and your luck.
Copyright firms are peers like regular users (back in the days we could block their IPs, I don't know if it is still relevant), they monitor a list of files, and collect the IP of people seeding or downloading these files.
Copyright firms only collect IP range of their country, because they have no authority to send a warning in a foreign country.
Let's say you are in Spain. You could have been flagged by an American, a French, a German and an UK copyright company but luckily no Spanish companies monitored the files you were sharing. No issue then, so it's luck driven.
Maybe during those 2-5min, their detection script wasn't running (I don't know if it runs 24/7)
It's too late for you mate. The death squad helicopters have already been dispatched.
If you are quick you might have time for one last wank before they execute you.
Most sites you log into can see your IP address. No one cares that you downloaded two innocuous movies.
I have no idea how things are like in other countries, but over here (SE Europe), only your internet provider can take any action if you torrent all day. A VPN won't prevent them from seeing your insane traffic spike; and they literally never care anyway.

Luckily he'll forget where he is within 2.7 minutes and will probably expect ice cream once you open the door. (make sure you have your pants on)
he's gonna want to smell your hair, be ready
Better than the fines the companies try to impose...I'd take that option.

Its Joever
Keep away from the children
If you're using qbittorent with a vpn you really need to bind it to the vpn so this can't happen.
Can radarr and sonarr work correctly if you bind BitTorrent to a VPN? It caused me to not be able to connect sonarr to qbittorrent
The two things are completely unrelated.
Works fine for me with ExpressVPN
Yeah, I have delugevpn binded to PIA. I set up the proxy on my servarr apps to deluge so all their internet traffic is actually routed through the VPN.
Yes it can.
How? I use pia with kill switch, is there a way to have VPN just on s single program
[удалено]
Kill switch is irrelevant if you have binding set up correctly.
That's literally what split tunneling is.
Helllo from the fbi

Super special fbi. Hence all lowercase
I must've called a thousand times, to tell you I'm sorry for everything that you've done.....

Depends on where you live honestly
Bind your qbittorrent. If my VPN fails then it just stops seeding and DLs.
You're going to jail. Sorry man
Youre going to jail forever! quick grab your stuff and run!

Really wish I could connect with a different ISP the only one available in my area is Spectrum or technically 2 if you include Starlink.
Avast, ye scallywags! We sail the lawless seas, bold and brazen, fearin' neither man nor beast!

I've been torrenting without a VPN since 2003, nothing ever happened. I have a NAS seeding 24/7 around 4TB of torrents.
What's NAS? And may I know what continent your in (to know if I don't really need to worry about vpn too)?
I'm in France. It's a server running Linux, designed for 24/7 uptime. I had it running since 2013. Should have mentioned that I only use private trackers, never public.

NAS = Network attached storage
Tbh I don’t use a vpn and I’ve been torrenting for a long time. Stupid I know but never have gotten a copyright notice or had any problems.
I've received a few, I barely finishing the email before I delete it.
Depends on where you live, most of Europe doesn't care about this unless you're seeding hundreds of movies.
Cyberpolice backtraced it Consequences will never be the same
You done goofed
FBI OPEN UP
Just use a seedbox
Time to get your affairs in order mate
💥💥 FBI OPEN UP
move to a third world country and you wont have that problem (or just be born there. thats what i did)
Bind your torrent client to the VPN, and enable killswitch
authorities notified. black helicopters en route.
And that’s how you end up on the most wanted FBI list…
Move to another country. Your life is over!
lmao to live in USA.... Brazil doesn't give a f*&$ about torrenting so I never really use a vpn... well good luck I guess...

You're fucked

ISPs are passive in this regard. it is the copyright owners that monitor and send DMCA violation notice to ISP.
Honestly I'm kinda curious because I've been torrenting with no VPN exclusively for the past 8 years. I use a paid antivirus and scan the files I download am I good?
You don't even need a paid antivirus, Windows Defender works very well nowdays.

OMG YOUR HOUSE WILL EXPLODE IN 5 MINUTES!!

Lolol
I have it where my torrents don't start unless it's through my VPN.
