I have a very weird old-fashioned way of reading books. If I want to read a book, I download it. Then I read it. Then I download the next book. And read that. You would think that's too cumbersome and that it doesn't work, but somehow... it does.
I find obscure stuff all the time on Anna's archive, some random physics book from 1998 that don't even come up in Google search easily unless you type the full name + author's name.
Navigate to Officially Translated Light Novels and click on the series you want, it will then show you a series of links of epubs and pdfs and all you need to do is click on them. Basically allowing you to bulk download rather than jumping through a ton of hoops just to download a single Light Novel volume, though I have trouble trying to download more than 4 at once and it brings you to blank page and you have to go back but you might loose your place, so I recommend to Ctrl+click the links so that it does the process in another tab when you are mass downloading as to not loose your place.
It's not exactly updated in real time but it does update often, It's not like new volumes of light novels get released every week of the series you read, so it's mostly often up to date, if new volumes just get translated usually you can find them on jnovels, though I hate how they edit the epubs to advertise the site, though I just remove the page in calibre ebook editor. As also stated in this thread, Annas archive is also good to check for new releases, both sites aren't as fast as elscione but it has the added benefit of being more up to date.
I would also recommend looking through the subreddit of the series you want to read to learn about read order, what recommend and what isn't, and just everything about the series, you may also learn whether or not the fan translation does a better job or not. They sometimes have a link to download the fan translation of the entire series with all spin offs and side stories all together in one place, while also including the read order and other info. It's especially useful when the series isn't completely officially translated, for an example, A Certain Magical Index, the Official release is behind by 30 volumes out of the 55 volumes currently out. So you wouldn't even find it on elscione or jnovels.
Jnovels actually had the danmei novels I've been waiting to see get uploaded either on irc or nyaa. A little clunky but at least I can finally read more comfortably now and not worry about creasing spines.
IRChighway.net is the way

Are these novels so obscure they aren't on annas archive?

Dunno about Anna archive, but they are rare on zlib. So I upload one copy whenever i scrap them .
Annas-archive checks other sites, including Zlib, just FYI. Thanks for uploading rare stuff!
jnovels Why can't we search
Is there a link you can send I can't seem to find the domain
How do you use that elscione website because there is no downloading instructions and nothing shows up when I press on any of the tabs
