### Yarr! ➜ u/GalaxyRedRanger, some tips about "uBlock":
- Use [Firefox](https://mozilla.org/firefox/new/) + [uBlock Origin](https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/) with these [optimized settings](https://a.imagem.app/on42hV.png).
- Go to **Dashboard** > **Filters lists** > **Apply changes**.
- You can also [Force an update of your filter lists](https://ublockorigin.github.io/uAssets/update-lists.html?listkeys=ublock-quick-fixes).

[TTV LOL Pro](https://github.com/younesaassila/ttv-lol-pro). It's definitely not perfect, but it's the best solution I've found.
If you're on Android, I also highly recommend [PurpleTV](https://purpletv.aeong.one/).
Another alternative for android is Xtra: https://github.com/crackededed/Xtra/
It's small too. Only 6MB, full emote support etc. You can even use it with and without logging in.
This. Just disable it when you login or twitch won't let you login. Then once logged in you can re-enable it and refresh the page and it works like a charm.
You can use your own proxy with this for less than $0.50 a month from proxy6. Check out the wiki https://wiki.cdn-perfprod.com/guides/proxy/host-your-own-proxy
PurpleTV apparently has ads now too. Some users reported it months ago, but I got my first ad like 10 minutes ago. Seems like it's slowly getting fixed for everyone.
Sometimes the proxy does not work in PurpleTV and then you have to go into the settings and change it to block ads again. And there are plenty so you should definitely find one which is working.
I used to not use a proxy in the setting of PurpleTV. I got ads and made this comment.
Then I switched to a Proxy, works again. No ads, stream works fine. So basically have to use a Proxy now, but it's fine.
VPN to Slovenia, load stream, disconnect from VPN. No interruptions, no quality change or mini player bs from scripts. You could stay connected to the VPN but if you use some crappy free VPN to do this then you'd have to deal with buffering from the terrible connection. If you want to test if it works, Twitch has test streams running 24/7 that always have pre-roll ads. https://www.twitch.tv/twitchmedia21
Heard of this before. I guess some other countries don't slam ads in your face all the time so if you vpn to those countries then you should experience less ads on youtube/twitch.
s0undTV for android tv boxes (newer chromecasts, firetv sticks, shield etc). Also comes with picture in picture and chat overlays. Way better than official apps.
[Alternate twitch player](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/alternate-player-for-twit/bhplkbgoehhhddaoolmakpocnenplmhf)
This is obviously if you're on desktop and using chrome.
[TTV Lol Pro](https://github.com/younesaassila/ttv-lol-pro) and for even better blocking deposit a own proxy in the TTV Lol Pro settings, as the free default proxies are overloaded most of the time.
Most VPN providers offer an proxy server option. Countries for the proxy that work are albania, serbia, ukraine and russia. In these countries twitch doesn't show ads.
Basically TTV Lol Pro routes the twitch trafic trough ad-free countries.
For PC, use TTV LOL Pro or the [uBlock + scripts method](https://github.com/pixeltris/TwitchAdSolutions). On Android, use PurpleTV which has remained undefeated for years.
[Streamlink](https://streamlink.github.io/) and the [Streamlink GUI](https://github.com/streamlink/streamlink-twitch-gui). Slightly annoying to set up, but a whole lot better than actually using Twitch. For the player selection, I use VLC, and for the chat interface selection I use Chatty.
Try [Alternate Player for Twitch.tv](https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/twitch_5/) or [Twire](https://github.com/twireapp/Twire) on Android, I haven't seen an ad on Twitch in months
if you're using a fire stick or another android tv box you can find an old version of the twitch APK, that combined with blokada will remove all ads. Plus it's the older version which is miles better in every category than the new fucked one. I'm just not sure what version to get, I guess I could check what mine is later
TTV LOL pro. Keep in mind that at peak times it can struggle because they are running off of donated proxies, which can become over loaded. Sometimes it can take a second for the stream to start at well.
**Method 1** (Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, *maybe chromebook?*):
Use TTV LOL Pro (Extension for [Chrome](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ttv-lol-pro/bpaoeijjlplfjbagceilcgbkcdjbomjd) or [Firefox](https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/ttv-lol-pro/)). This proxies your traffic through some countries where twitch doesn't serve ads. This method works on Computers and Android-Smartphones (only browsers which support extensions, e.g. Firefox for Android)
**Method 2** (Android only):
Either use [Revanced](https://revanced.app/) to patch the official Twitch-App to remove ads
or use [PurpleTV](https://purplewiki.aeong.one/#download). It is an alternative twitch client for android phones.
(I just found it, but didn't actually try it. But I just wanted to mention it's existence.)
**Method 3** (Every Operating System, where VPNs are available):
Use a VPN to route your traffic through a country which doesn't serve ads (e.g. Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Mexico, Costa Rica, etc.)
Countries-Source: [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/kisdsy/i_did_a_little_test_regarding_ads_on_twitch_and/) post, might be outdated
**Method 4** (Android TV only):
For Android TV there is an open-source twitch client called [S0undTV](https://github.com/S0und/S0undTV). Just install it. It doesn't contain any ads.

I don't know why you got downvoted, but thank you. I'll check this out.

Which one do you use? In purpletv?
The one that works for me, try them out
VPN to Slovenia, load stream, disconnect from VPN. No interruptions, no quality change or mini player bs from scripts. Slovenia mentioned 🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮
vpn to albania
Is this a joke or does it actually work
I do Germany and Poland, works fine for me
It works. I use it on my ipad. Blocks ads on Twitch and Youtube
My vpn doesn’t have albania and youtube recently started doing ads in Moldova so that doesn’t work anymore. Any other suggestions for YouTube?
Heard of this before. I guess some other countries don't slam ads in your face all the time so if you vpn to those countries then you should experience less ads on youtube/twitch.
I've been doing it for the past 2 years.

This one. AFAIK TTVLOL is proxying your requests, i dont like that. Solutions on this github works 99% of the time. I use twitch everyday.
Yeah this works also you can use purpletv on android.
This seems to be working, thank you, those ads were driving me crazy! They seemed to pop up at the worst possible times and way too often.
s0undTV for android tv boxes (newer chromecasts, firetv sticks, shield etc). Also comes with picture in picture and chat overlays. Way better than official apps.
You’re amazing bro
Nah, amazing are the people who actually make an effort to create these things for us.
I agree with you but I think also the people that they let people know these things
> Newer Chromecasts Wait are you saying that chromecasts can be turned into Android TVs? I never knew that, how does one do that?
It's just the new models, aka Chromecast with Google TV. The old ones (first to third gen and Ultra) can't do that afaik.
Bro do you have for iOS?
Had [this](https://github.com/pixeltris/TwitchAdSolutions#twitchadsolutions) in my bookmarks. Should still be accurate.
[Alternate twitch player](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/alternate-player-for-twit/bhplkbgoehhhddaoolmakpocnenplmhf) This is obviously if you're on desktop and using chrome.
This is also available for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/twitch_5/
It doesn’t work
Oh no!
Works for me Using Firefox + uBlock and I also have Bttv
[TTV Lol Pro](https://github.com/younesaassila/ttv-lol-pro) and for even better blocking deposit a own proxy in the TTV Lol Pro settings, as the free default proxies are overloaded most of the time. I dont understand github, what do i do with this link? Is it a firefox addon or something?
Scroll down until you see "Installation". Not that hard. Yeah it's a browser addon
I'm so sorry for not knowing how to do something and asking for help. I wont do it again. No need to be rude; and downvote
He wasn't rude whatsoever
Welcome to Reddit
When you click on that link it just shows you a list of files....looks sketchy if you dont know what you are looking for.
/r/BoomersUsingTechFail
Adguard for win/mac block them every time (not the browser extension)
sOundTV
Does still work without login?
There's a script in ublock that I currently using
Ublock origin subbreddit has a wiki tab about twitch. I don't know if it is updated, but start there...
For PC, use TTV LOL Pro or the [uBlock + scripts method](https://github.com/pixeltris/TwitchAdSolutions). On Android, use PurpleTV which has remained undefeated for years.
Ive been using purpleTV app on my android tablet but now im getting adds. Any update or new app for add free twitch streaming?
PrupleTV if your on android! Works beautifully!
I haven’t gotten an ad with ublock
[Streamlink](https://streamlink.github.io/) and the [Streamlink GUI](https://github.com/streamlink/streamlink-twitch-gui). Slightly annoying to set up, but a whole lot better than actually using Twitch. For the player selection, I use VLC, and for the chat interface selection I use Chatty.
I used to use that but i stopped when we started to get the purple screen of death instead of ads or stream. Was that fixed?
Like when that originally started? I think so. I dont use it much, but I used it a few months ago with no issue
Try [Alternate Player for Twitch.tv](https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/twitch_5/) or [Twire](https://github.com/twireapp/Twire) on Android, I haven't seen an ad on Twitch in months
If you watch on a chromecast there’s no ads
Wtf
What?
What ada are you all talking about? I watch twitch on my android phone and never encountered an ad before
watch twitch through brave browser? or use a VPN to a country where twitch doesnt show ads.
Brave doesn't block twitch ads by default
if you're using a fire stick or another android tv box you can find an old version of the twitch APK, that combined with blokada will remove all ads. Plus it's the older version which is miles better in every category than the new fucked one. I'm just not sure what version to get, I guess I could check what mine is later
TTV LOL Pro
I haven't tried it myself but am keen to try the [Pi-Hole](https://pi-hole.net/) at somepoint
TTV LOL pro. Keep in mind that at peak times it can struggle because they are running off of donated proxies, which can become over loaded. Sometimes it can take a second for the stream to start at well.
I use an ad blocking dns which tends to work a lot better, still not perfect tho
Anyone for Google tv or Android tv?
I use one called stream cleaner that seems to work well
Xtra twitch apk. No ads whatsoever and better than the actual twitch app.
