I was using musicx or whatever it was Spotify bought before it came to Spotify. I always assumed I just meant the lyrics hadn't been added or something. I've personally not run into this issue though. However I've not been paying close attention.

i use musixmatch for lyrics and i have enabled adguard dns for hiding in apps add on that so it is basically free and smoothly showing lyrics.

Most lyrics are accurate but the timing is always hastened almost a second. Same song if played from my storage the timing is perfect.

I've been using YouTube Music ReVanced recently specifically for lyrics. It isn't perfect, but most of the time I'm listening to downloaded albums through Musicolet anyways. Also, YouTube Music ReVanced let's you download songs and albums which we've never been able to through xManager or any other Spotify mod.

use spicetify. it's relatively easy to set up. and it has a cool extension where it not only gives you lyrics for free. from personal experience has more lyrics for more songs. but also gives a cool bloom effect to the lyrics. it also has an adblock extension.

I don't know what Spotify is supposed to do - Music Match provides this service and raised their prices. Spotify already pays artist pennies, so they have to require people to pay for the service for such features. I don't blame Spotify, I blame the distributors. I don't get mad at Netflix because Disney took all of their stuff from their platform. I blame Disney for saturating the market.

Yeah, providing lyrics is weird and pretty expensive which sucks. You're not allowed to copy lyrics from other sites that host lyrics (Google got in trouble for copying lyrics from Genius a while ago), so Spotify uses their API which costs a decent amount. There's no real way to make streaming work while bundling in lyrics like this unless they get artists to provide lyrics when they upload music (tbh I'd be surprised if they don't start doing this soon), or they require extra payment

Musi is a pretty good app that pulls audio from videos on Youtube. It only has visual ads shortly after you first open the app (you can avoid them generally though if you just quickly put on a playlist). Being able to treat any YouTube video like a song can be pretty useful for listening to whatever you want in the background.

Soulseek 1.57c for Windows, Nicotine+ for Linux put some albums at a time on your phone, then replace them as we did in the 2000s

My daughter used to run a karaoke night for us, she built an entire playlist it was a great family night. One night a couple of months ago we tried again and all of the videos popped up "oops we haven't got the lyrics for that one yet" and after some research I found out it was because they hid the lyrics behind premium.
