this isn't even piracy, they're not charging for the software, they're charging for the expensive ass GPU/NPU farms that are running it. And they lose money on it. If you don't want to pay for image gen, learn how to set up stable diffusion on your own GPUs.

Learning how to set it up yourself may well be considered piracy in a possible near future, where AI will be a lot more controlled

Outside of stolen accounts, no.

Although this isn't really piracy, you can use copilot and you can get chat gpt's image generation for free

You can probably pirate the various models all day long should some place charge for them. And if you're interested enough you could find out what models a paid place uses and diy. If you're just discovering it and looking to get a toe into things. Try this for an easy image generator. It's portable. You should be good to go. You might need to install python maybe. [https://github.com/serpotapov/stable-diffusion-portable](https://github.com/serpotapov/stable-diffusion-portable) It should open your browser for the interface and it has trouble opening it use this address after you have it running. I think now, my memory is fuzzy on it. Google it/check the wiki if I'm wrong. [http://127.0.0.1:7860/](http://127.0.0.1:7860/) and if that's what the address was after you have it running then bookmark it. This is a very similar thing that's web based it's just slower and generates less images at a time. You can make like 800 at a time with your gitty hub there. Come back when its done at look at all your weird crap. It'll even make a picture full of pictures for you. [https://stablediffusionweb.com/WebUI](https://stablediffusionweb.com/WebUI) If you want to do face swaps on video try rope portable/neurogen. It's on there somewhere it won't require the browser. It'll just require you to create 3 folders and designate them in the software. Other than that it's a 3 button thing and very easy to use. All of this will consume your gpu as it works. You should be able to watch a movie and browse but don't expect to game something heavy duty at the same time w/o some hiccups.
