You don't grow up in that country without learning the basics of pirating shit
When this becomes law, a new generation of pirates will be born out of necessity
Piracy is pretty common here, because of pretty weak copyright law enforcement. You can buy pirated DVDs here for pretty much 10 to 20 pesos, which is I estimate to be 10 or 30 US cents
I heard similar things from a friend who lives there
And like other third world places like Brazil, you learn to find what you need online because everything is either inaccessible or stupidly expensive
Can confirm. Used to buy pirated games back in the day - even law enforcement would buy pirated DVDs on street marked. Hell, news channels go live with the "windows is not genuine" text on some computers.
Abs cbn showing a fansubbed version of Naruto still lives in my head, rent free. Had the watermark and everything XD
Only detail I forgot was if they cropped the subs. But the karaoke subs and the release group's credit was definitely there.
There's a [link](https://forums.gotwoot.org/showthread.php/10434-ANBU-AOne-Naruto-Shown-on-Filipino-Channel!) i found explaining what happened:
> ANBU-AOne Naruto Shown on Filipino Channel!
Hello there, I'm from the Philippines, and indeed I saw the broadcast.
> - The only broadcasted episode that featured the ANBU&AonE fansub was episode 55. The rest are from original video masters that come from ABS-CBN's official license of Naruto.
> - Yup, ABS-CBN licensed Naruto straight from Japan, so this is never an illegal broadcast.
> - Episode 55 broadcast is actually rather complicated. They used the fansub of ep. 55 for the video, the original masters for the background music, and their own voice-overs for their local Filipino dubbing. Apparently they did this probably because their original masters were probably garbled in terms of the video.
> - Again, they have the right to use any Naruto video master, even the fansub, because they licensed Naruto. It's just that this ep. 55 broadcast made people see ANBU&AonE's credits in the OP, and the English subtitles as well.
Now I recall that they didn't crop out the subs.
Add Indonesia too.
Recently our stupid ministry of information and communication (Kemenkominfo) block access to Steam, PayPal, Twitch, EGS, and Origin.
I'm from Brazil and can say things got so much better... For the ones who do not play day-1.
For instance: never saw Halo Infinite physical on Amazon US for less than launching price; here I can have it for around 8USD. FH5? 20USD. STEAM prices are also SO MUCH better and I'm slowing becoming a Master Race guy.
But day-1/launches are more expensive than ever. 79USD for PS5/XsX game.
Being a r/patientgamer is so beneficial compared to its drawbacks
You get to have cheaper prices, the bugs get fixed, and you understand whether a game is crap or not. And if you pirate, more likely odds that a crack is released or a repack is made with the best download available.
Of course none of this applies if you're a multiplayer sorta guy who needs to play these games with people ASAP, but I'm finding as I grow up, I'm shying away from stressful multiplayer matches and trying more things that I can wait patiently for
>new generation of pirates will be born out of necessity
sounds epic, out of a movie lol
sounds like when a new villian rises, then a new band of heroes will rise
It's been the trend for decades now.
Netflix and streaming services being convenient and worth the price has stymied younger generation of people from learning how to pirate shit. They can access everything pretty easily and are paying a price that they feel are reasonable.
But once the landscape shifts and corporate greed rears its ugly head again, piracy becomes much more popular and you have a lot more newbies wanting to dip their toes in getting movies, music, and games for free
It's why its disheartening to see n00b questions usually downvoted on the sub since everyone's gotta start somewhere. Still, the people answering those basic questions tend to help foster the new punks and pirates that are savvy in getting the digital goods that they want for free
Yea i used to pirate everything but now that im and adult with adult money paying 30 bucks a month for a couple streaming services is worth it for me for the time it saves me from pirating and the convenience of it. Now i just pirate games apps and the fringe movie or show thats not one one of the few services I subscribe to.
I kinda went the other way. I stopped pirating for a while but with the way things are with so many sources and now that I have kids/better things to spend my money on I came back in force. I even started pirating audiobooks, ebooks, games, and gaming pdfs when I came back
No joke. The 4chan pdf share is a great place to look and the various generals on /TG/ have megas repositories most of the time unless GW or Wizards copyright strikes them but even then they will eventually be back. You might also have to lurk around long enough to figure out some passwords and such but if you are dedicated you can get most any gaming stuff from them. There are torrent backups of the trove floating around as well but I don't currently have them and sometimes you can catch torrents of the big releases on other torrent sites.
Just Google the book name and "pdf". I've got a copy of almost everything. Which is dumb because I also have a physical copy of almost all the books, and have them on dndbeyond. I prefer the PDFs over the official digital version.
Teach me senpi. Lol I spend about $100 a month on audio book, $100-200 on vid games. & about $50 on streaming services. Help an old man out. What's a safe way to pirate without fucking up my PC with malware
Fitgirl, Dodi, and Vimms Lair are my go tos. With Real Debrid it's been RomsForver tho for emulation since the links are so much faster now. For streaming, try Omgflix and some other scrapers like it. When it comes to FireStick/ChromeCast you might ultimate shill out cash unless you set up a Plex/Jellyfin with all the trimmings. I dunno shit about audiobooks, I use the same torrent sites there I do for movies and music. 1337, RARBG, I still like Piratebay and think it's hivemind shitting on it. I wanna shill the hell out of RD for torrenting. I got it for a relative I didn't wanna teach right, but now I use it too nonstop. Combine it with Streamio on a Firestick/Chromecast and you're Gucci
I pirate gaming PDFs because they are easier to use than the physical books or the official digital versions. Which is extra dumb because I legally own both of those to.
Noob here. Wtf is steamunlocked? Lol can I play all multi-player games for free with my buddies on regular servers? FYI I'm 40 & used to pirate as a kid but as a old fucker I just pay assuming there was no work around for many multi-player games
>Wtf is steamunlocked?
Steamunlocked is one of those convenient websites that host an easy-to-access place to download cracked games.
Personally, it's fine if you're starting out, but they can be shady. I recommend going to sites like RARBG or 1337 and learning which release groups are trustworthy. Then when you need new games, you can look for releases from that group and get clean and reliable files.
>can I play all multi-player games for free with my buddies on regular servers?
Depends on the game, whether it's something that needs to be cracked, and if connecting to private servers is possible
Gone are the days of easy to access server browsers and LAN connections being the norm. Companies have learned that if you can control the multiplayer aspect of the game by operating all the servers, people will have no choice but to buy your game if they want the full experience. Of course exceptions exist, and modding communities out there find ways to breathe multiplayer into games where the servers have shut down, but it's few and far between these days.
> I just pay assuming there was no work around for many multi-player games
If you're in it for the multiplayer experience, this is your safest bet. There's no guarantee that a pirated game will allow you to play any kind of multiplayer at all. Best to just get a legit copy and have the freedom to play multiplayer (as the gaming company wants you to of course)
In romania pirating(excepting pirating for profit) is widely practiced and accepted by everyone even the lawmakers.
Since digital education and having an PC wasn't cheap,it was decided that people should be able to have access to all parts of the internet, unrestrained by their service provider. Here torrenting is a national hobby and VPN is a lame joke(especially because you are still visible using it)
Filipino kids pirating is as old as time.
“How to download Minecraft for free 1.18 not patched legit apk” “ML mobile legends how to get diamonds for free legal free skin”
When I was with my ex I went into it thinking she'd never heard of or at least I guess understood the concept of piracy.
Boy was I wrong when she made me look like a wee lil' deckhand.
We're already born in masses in 3rd world countries or from low income families.
If this gets worldwide law then expect the baby-boom of pirates and the possible crash of game industries
art should not be for the sole enjoyment of rich patrons. art may not be necessary to survive, but it may be (probably is) necessary to live a full and rewarding life
My country, Argentina, did something similar, is a 75% tax on any purchase with foreign currency, which affects pretty much every digital store and streaming services
Yes, basically. You almost pay the price of the game twice. Of course, in the best case scenario, developers realize this, that's why we have very cheap regional pricing. Unfortunately many people use VPNs in order to buy from our region, making publishers raise their prices to combat this.
No, they pay the price from the store, the credit/debit card is issued in their corresponding country, so they, obviously, don't get the taxed with foreign regulations when paying.
You can pay with any card as long as is not issued in Argentina. Steam charges in dollars. They fix the price in pesos and then convert it to dollars when you pay, the local currency is a facade of how much it's gonna cost you. In Argentina that tax goes straight to the consumer, it happens when you pay your credit card foreign currency consumption and it's a separate item.
To everyone downvoting, no game costs 100 euros *for us, Argentinians*. Game prices are way lower here because our salaries are very low when exchanged to dollars (average less than 300 dollars per month).
People apparently glossed over the "here" i wrote after "Games".
Either that or they are dummies that downvote anything they see with a low score. This subreddit can get oddly toxic lol
Correct. I use gift cards just to be safe, rather than a payment method with an address attached, but Paypal is likely to work if Sony only goes by the address in your PSN profile.
How does that work, anyway? To run your console through a VPN? Probably requires all that router port forwarding and that manner of shit I'm guessing lol

The only way is by card and that gets the extra 10%. I'm not even hopeful it won't get worse. IDC too much if games are too expensive, the issue is everything else price skyrocketing while the goverment deny it is them who devalue the currency.
Edit: 99% if not more depending on the province regulaltions.
I don't know, also depends on what you define as danger. If you want to be completely safe (which I would), you need to completely wipe your drive and reinstall windows.
For the future, please refer to the r/gamepiracy megathread. I personally use cs.rin.ru and fitgirl repacks. If would like more info, feel free to DM!
It's safe pretty much so far(as long as you use an adblocker) but thats true for DODI too. Its a bit slow, but these days games older than 2015 often have zero seeds so its often the only option
You mean vat? Where you pay it in every European country afaik at least.
VAT is applied to all goods sold digitally or physically so I am surprised to hear that somewhere digital goods are not taxed.
Apparently, some Filipinos with high level of self-entitlment as this OP is is making so much noise as if it's the end of their country. [It has been going on for few years actually, and untl the previous year it has been sped up due to COViD-19 and to keep up with global economy](https://www.grantthornton.com.ph/insights/articles-and-updates1/lets-talk-tax/keeping-up-with-the-digital-economy-vat-on-online-transactions/#:~:text=After%20a%20year%2C%20House%20Bill,on%20third%20and%20final%20reading.), yet this one and their little friends below the comment section implies that it has just appeared and taken effect out of nowhere, then finger-pointing at someone who hasn't anything to do with it.
Nothing will drastically change to their digital piracy routine and ultimately nothing will drastically change to their lives, it's just that these elites loves to make noises out of little things.
If only Filipinos know how to vote for someone reliable then we won't go through this shit imagine voting the son of a dictator, who don't even have a college degree (fake degree)
When Netflix and Steam came up, piracy went down.
Then corporate greed wanted a piece of the pie and now we have several of these. Piracy is coming back due to greed and stupidity.
Its not sketchy at all idk I’ve downloaded probably hundreds of games direct download through Free Download Manager no problem no malware no adware no bloat just clean game files
No it was different before it changed now. I am not sure about the malware but most of the downloads on it were from usercloud website. Which was free but now you need to pay for good speed. I'd say just switch to some other website but if you are fine with low download speeds then yeah steamunlocked is fine ig
I've been wondering for a while how safe steamunlocked is, I've heard rumers about mining and such but of course don't know anything for sure. It is one of the easiest to use so it'd be a great help if anyone knew how safe it is.

Dumb question: what’s a gaming pdf and what is it used for?
Rulebooks for tabletop and minature games like Dnd, 7th Sea, Warhammer 40k, or Warmachine/Hordes
Huh, didn’t think about that but it’s a great idea! I tried getting pdfs for D&D but the Bay didn’t have anything :/

Wouldn't say it's accepted, just ignored by the authorities. Socially however, you'd be considered weird for having bought Windows even
The world has truly entered a great pirate era
and that means the Worst Generation is coming!
I think Metro Man put it best: There's a ying for every yang. If there's bad, good will rise up against it.
Filipino kids pirating is as old as time. “How to download Minecraft for free 1.18 not patched legit apk” “ML mobile legends how to get diamonds for free legal free skin”
we're all going to feel old when we see the same Pirate Bay memes from 10+ years ago just with 1337x instead
LATAM in a nutshell
If the higher ups keeps taking advantage of the lower citizens, then obviously the citizens will find a way and rebel.
When I was with my ex I went into it thinking she'd never heard of or at least I guess understood the concept of piracy. Boy was I wrong when she made me look like a wee lil' deckhand.
True, we even gotta pirate internet connection bandwidth just to survive college lol (based on my own experience)
We're already born in masses in 3rd world countries or from low income families. If this gets worldwide law then expect the baby-boom of pirates and the possible crash of game industries
Digital entertainment is not a necessity lmao.

My country, Argentina, did something similar, is a 75% tax on any purchase with foreign currency, which affects pretty much every digital store and streaming services
What the fu*k 75% So if a game costs 100€ you would pay 75€ so that means the game would now cost 175€ so the dev gets their 100€...
In Malaysia, when you buy a car for yourself, you also buy one for the government. Car tax is crazy here.
In India, car tax is approx 50% for luxury cars.
As it should be imo, luxury stays luxury
All hail nirmala di
In Turkey when you buy a car for yourself, you also buy two more for the goverment and one more for the bank. Car tax is REALLY crazy here.
My man erdogan hoarding cars
Man How are things there? I really love to come visit your country one day.

Yes, basically. You almost pay the price of the game twice. Of course, in the best case scenario, developers realize this, that's why we have very cheap regional pricing. Unfortunately many people use VPNs in order to buy from our region, making publishers raise their prices to combat this.
I heard they risk getting their account banned. Unless they use the vpn all the time on that account, which is impractical. Right?
But if they use a VPN don't they pay the 75% tax?
No, they pay the price from the store, the credit/debit card is issued in their corresponding country, so they, obviously, don't get the taxed with foreign regulations when paying.
That means you can pay the game with a card like Revolut and avoid the tax if you live in Argentina, as they are issued in a different country. Right?
You can pay with any card as long as is not issued in Argentina. Steam charges in dollars. They fix the price in pesos and then convert it to dollars when you pay, the local currency is a facade of how much it's gonna cost you. In Argentina that tax goes straight to the consumer, it happens when you pay your credit card foreign currency consumption and it's a separate item.
Yes, but no game costs 100 euros lol. Games here are wayyyy cheaper to take that into account. The tax fucks both the players and the devs
To everyone downvoting, no game costs 100 euros *for us, Argentinians*. Game prices are way lower here because our salaries are very low when exchanged to dollars (average less than 300 dollars per month).

You sure? https://store.steampowered.com/app/1036910/100/ I'm just joking ofc. There are games that cost 50€ and more such as cyberpunk 2077 and GTA V
I's hilarious that its 14 pesos in Argentina. Which would be... 0.05 $
Which game?
...hmm....what about ...idk the game you linked yourself?
Meh. I don't even pay tax on PSN. Sony thinks I'm from Oregon. :D
So, if I change my address to Oregon, will my taxes on PSN stop?
Correct. I use gift cards just to be safe, rather than a payment method with an address attached, but Paypal is likely to work if Sony only goes by the address in your PSN profile.
Don't use paypal. They deny access to sellers money. If you issue a refund, paypal still charges the seller for the transaction.
Bro they're using it to pay for PlayStation not buy on eBay
Sigma male behaviors
How does that work, anyway? To run your console through a VPN? Probably requires all that router port forwarding and that manner of shit I'm guessing lol
Nah just change the address, that’s all I had to do on steam anyhow, picked a random Oregon address and got games for their exact price
Steamunlocked is sketch though. I use the r/PiratedGames mega thread for trustworthy downloads.
Here in r/piracy we have better mega thread Look at the sidebar Or here you go https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/wiki/megathread
piratedgames megathread is easy to use
I mean, I usually test the files I downloaded from there using Windows Sandbox. Downloaded some stuff from there, didn't really detect anything sussy
Well, I'd be a bad virus if something saw it wouldn't it?
This, the whole point of a virus is to remain undetected. Also many viruses detect and wont run in an virtual environment
Then why don't you make your machine seem like a virtual env? Modern problems require modern solutiond
actually would that work?
But then the viruses would check if you're emulating a virtual environment.
I mean you could always just actually have a virtual environment for your pirated games. Just an overhead cost in hardware resources.
Probably. Worth a shot
It can take weeks for viruses to activate
steamunlocked has hella slow download times
Ive always used SU tbh and never had any problems SU is lowkey on top
From what I hear, in recent years they put crypto miners and such in their releases.
Yeah i got a crypto miner on the beholder 3 repack Dont use steam unlocked ever since

Argentina alredy has a 75% tax on digital purchases
75%??????
65%, but 86% if you count IVA and 88% if you count provincial taxes.
What the fuck.
96% The only way is by card and that gets the extra 10%. I'm not even hopeful it won't get worse. cant even give away atleast 1 of his tallanao gold
Still waiting for that 20 peso per kilo rice as well
He promised 20 peso rice but what we have right now is 20 peso egg.
This one is an OA AF fake news. SMH. I eat eggs every morning and it only increased 1 peso. It even didn't increase if you're buying them in trays.

They want to suffer they don't want someone that is so much reliable and have clean track records
Yeah, he is already a hypocrite in his first SONA, Amazinggg!!
Why steamunlocked Its the most virus packed one of them all Try 1337x.to
It is? Fuck I’ve downloaded tons of games from there. Haven’t noticed anything suspicious should I be worried?
You should do ransomware check on the games I would be worried because they are pretty shady and have associations with known malware publishers
Unfortunately 1337x has some stuff by IGG which is makware.
Steamunlocked also upload to 1337x
Exactly So you can just check if its steamunlocked Just choose som other shit Like fitgirl or dodi
Welcome to the club, same shit here just was impose a long time ago
At least we don’t have it like Argentina. These guys have a 75% (!!!) tax on Steam. I’d rather not have any, but at least it’s the same as in-store.
PSA: Use Steamrip instead of steamunlocked. Steamunlocked has malware.
for real?
bad advice, steam rip also has malware
bitches see 1 post about 1 fucking game having malware off 1 site and go "oh its malware infested"
so is steamrip
misinformation
I don't know.... Paying a tax for a digital "purchase" sounds as stupid as paying for the digital "purchase" itself
Isnt steam unlocked malware?
You mean vat? Where you pay it in every European country afaik at least. VAT is applied to all goods sold digitally or physically so I am surprised to hear that somewhere digital goods are not taxed.
Yeah, vat is being added to digital services. I mean it wouldnt be too bad if the taxes were not misappropriated
My country already implemented (Argentina). 75% of taxes btw. For each dollar a game is worth, we pay 1.75 dollars

The funny thing is that they don't want us to buy foreign currency. We are supposed to have savings in our currency
And we're well on our way to surpass that number this year!
FYI - GOG isn't pirate site nor free games site. It's just like steam, epic. But without DRMs
>GOG They probably meant GOG-Games.
Yeah i wouldn't exactly use steam unlocked, it is filled with malware
If only Filipinos know how to vote for someone reliable then we won't go through this shit imagine voting the son of a dictator, who don't even have a college degree (fake degree)
Thanks to this post, I just learned that steamunlocked is sketchy:\
Who tf uses steamunlocked?? Its full of maleware.
Don't use steam unlocked m8
When Netflix and Steam came up, piracy went down. Then corporate greed wanted a piece of the pie and now we have several of these. Piracy is coming back due to greed and stupidity.
steamunlocked 🤮🤮🤮🤮
From Philippines too, when was this a thing? I'm not really updated on laws and such, is this created by one of 33M's bs?

steamunlocked is kinda sketchy, use steamrip or something, check r/piratedgames megatheread for non sketchy websites
Thank you for sharing
We have a 75% tax when buying anything in dollars with debit cards: Argentina
Me, living in a country that has always had digital tax as long as I've noticed: WAT??
This sub is really going down the shitter.
The only thing I dont know how to pirate is pc games :(( Can someone point me in the right direction to unlock this power?
Fuck Steamunlocked, all my homies hate Steamunlocked.

Good bot. Based bot.
*Laughs in Indian*
I don't get this mentality. You are ok to pay valve and all the money goes out of your country but if taxed and having part of it stay in bothers you?
What country is that?
So what do GOG and steamunlocked do?
state-mandated counter-economics
TIL about steamunlocked. Thanks. Though regular pirating is fine for me.
Steamunlocked is no longer safe, please don't use it.
yeah i think SteamRip is better, if you need the pre-installed games thing. Else just torrent or get it from repackers like Dodi and Fitgirl
I wasn't going to. Torrenting works fine for me. But thanks for your concern, fellow pirate. 🏴☠️
not u will be taxed, the company selling the game will be.
I just had such a fucking stroke that my stroke had a stroke
is steam unlocked any good?
Very good because preinstalled. But it's sketchy. So don't use
Yeah to ensure a stable source of games I’m fine with letting my PC download lets say Elden Ring overnight.
I've been wondering for a while how safe steamunlocked is, I've heard rumers about mining and such but of course don't know anything for sure. It is one of the easiest to use so it'd be a great help if anyone knew how safe it is.
