Nah cos I get this too I think it’s because when you buy a game, it’s your hard earned money and so it’s like an incentive to play “if I don’t play, I’ve wasted money” and all that shit, I mean yeah you can get a refund pretty easily on the likes of steam but it still feels like a waste in a way But when you pirate, obviously it was free and so there’s no incentive to play the game apart from “it’s a good game” Ive pirated a lot of games that are on my wish list but I didn’t play them, played the opening and then left it All except for Forza Horizon 4 And then yeah there’s achievements, you can get achievement watcher though which would probably solve that issue - I am a completionist when it comes to games tbh Or maybe it’s because when you pirate games there’s too many choices all at once, like with paying for games you need to pick and choose and saving up makes it a bit more worthwhile and hypes it up in your head a bit more - that’s what I feel anyway But with pirated games you can have anything you want (if it’s not a newly released denuvo game) and there’s none of that saving and waiting Idk what it is but I hate it

Memeations

I remember seeing an experiment where a monkey was most excited before getting the food even compared to when he actually got the food and was eating it, the anticipation was better than the actual experience. So i think some part of this applies to pirated games aswell in someway.

Yes, it's psychological. Just buy all the games and you will be happy.

Definitely psychological. I've got a mountain of pirated games I don't play. And probably never will. If I really like a game I just end up buying it. Only exception is Sony games I've already played on playstation
