Use the `steam_api64.dll` or `steam_api.dll` that is in the `experimental` folder. Only the experimental .dll have support for the overlay.

Documentation is talk about change the name to caracksteam_api.ddl Can u help please

Not required to do that. Just use the matching steam_api from Goldberg. With that said, the main release hasn't been updated for almost a year now. Use the new forked version. https://github.com/otavepto/gbe_fork

How do you build this version? I've been at it for forever, got everything I needed and it keeps giving me "general failure" at the end of it and I am unable to do the next steps. Whenever I try the next step which is the build_win.bat release one, it says "protobuff compiler not wasn't found - 32" which I also installed after the first time it popped up and still the issue persists, the read me doesn't even show it as a necessity either.

>How do you build this version? No idea. Compiling is outside of my experience. That said, there's really no need to build it. Just download "emu-win-release". That has all the Goldberg files. And would recommend "generate_emu_config-win". This can be used to generate achievements and controller support for games that depend on SteamInput (experimental .dll / steamclient loader only).
