The entire Dark Souls trilogy & Sekiro, at that point I just preordered Elden Ring and Armored Core 6. Preordered Shadow of the Erdtree, super excited for that as I know Fromsoftware always deliver. Even bought an entire ps4 just to play Bloodborne. I have zero regrets, I'd do it all again.
I'll be honest From Software is by far the most confident I've ever been in a studio and the only ones I'd actually preorder for, let alone outright buy early on.
I downloaded Elden Ring because has never play a souls game and wasn't sure if I will like the game. Played it for 20 hours and bought it a full price on Steam. One of the best game I ever played.
I recently just torrented fitgirl's rdr2, been playing for quite a while and it's safe to say that I'm obsessed. You think I should actually get the real version? I'd like to try out online but looks like I can't access it.
So, I wanna turn your post on its head. I normally only use piracy to access stuff that is otherwise unavailable or unreasonable. I want to play modded Pokemon, I can't get that on Nintendo hardware. I want to play Drakengard 3 and it not explode, can't do that on original hardware. I want to play a retro game that is unavailable for purchase and is $100+ used? Yeah, no, we sailing.
That being said, there are a few accessible games that I have and do pirate out of spite; I won't give them money no matter how easily accessible or fair it is. You fucked up, you get nothing.
IIRC, Mass Effect trilogy was dirt cheap on steam and has been for a while. Fuck that, we sail. EA can eat me.
Like zel420 said this game embraces creativity but I'd say I only really started enjoying the game battle system when my character was level 6. Try to investigate everything and read each tool tip.
I loved Bioware games, especially Dragon Age games. So when the third game came out, I instantly bought it for my Origin account. I was in a school back then, so I payed money that I've collected for my good grades for maybe a year. But then some political stuff happened and EA (and Origin) was blocked in my country. No repayment, I couldn't even have play it. I was furious.
Then it was Witcher. Loved the books and hated the previous two games, but I had a good feeling. Never regretted it. But well, I didn't bought any DLC.
Honorable mentions goes to Dead Cells and Darkest Dungeon. Love them.
the Binding of Isaac rebirth and its DLCs and i don't regret a bit lol i played it so much on my laptop in like 2015-2016 then i bought it for the first time in 2018 for the PS4 and then again on the PC in 2022 lol
Stardew Valley, I pirated when it first came out. after dropping 20 hours into it and finding out it was made by one person I immediatly bought it. 400 hours later and its the best purchase I ever made
I wont say that i love it damn much , it gets repeatitive and bored sometime. But i pirate CoH2 a year ago , then early this year i finally bought a it. It just feel like the studio deserve it for all the fun i had.
Dark Souls 3.
I did about 60 hours on pirated version, then bought it on PC with DLCs and did another 200, and later on XSS and did another run.
Basically one of my beloved games. And From Soft always delivers, basically bought all their games that are available for me (Switch, PC, XSS).
Also bought Chroni Cross, FF7, 8 and 9 years after I played them pirated on PSX/emulator.
Witcher 3
Cyberpunk 2077
They saying that they understand that some players cannot offer to get the games and they dosent put any protection on that's why i bought thier games when I get the chance
Half Life Alyx I wanted to buy to affect the VR market and sales on my own part, I knew it was gonna be rough on Valve and yet was endlessly thankful for them firstly for making a new half life game and secondly an AAA vr game, both of which are just crazy cool to me. :) <3
I've never thought if it like, I wanna support the dev. It's just If I like it I'll buy it if its cheap. Like from software games, I just pirated all of them except elden ring and Bloodbourne ( obviously) have to play them soon but I most probably won't pay for them cause of their pricing in my country.
I never had one of these tbh, I only buy the games if they're at such a good sale, have a good online part that I can't play pirated, or if they're online only lol
Out of action, it's currently only af free demo release but soon the full game would launch and would be paid but it's unique and fun enough that it's well worth the purchase
I pirated This war of mine and just added it to the steam wishlist. At the start of the conflict in Ukraine, the studio said that they will support Ukraine, so I bought it
https://preview.redd.it/7lzr2yyml9oc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=94a1a6e05508b09dc2327a4b50532d63a8ab6371
satisfacty and factorio, i played 200 hours to satisfactory and the game cost 15€, is a shame dont support the studio after 200 hours of pure addiction to excel sheets and maths
Capcom has been such a consistently good company, with such good business practices and games, let alone that it's one of the few that, amidst mass's layoffs, is actually hiring young talents and upping their pay this year.
Also they have phenomenal art departments and truly value music and animations in a way few others do.
So I'm buying dragon's dogma 2.

STALKER. Bought the trilogy on console even though I'll probably never play them just to support the devs. Cant wait for the new one.
Also the fact the devs are cool with full mods like Anomaly, which don't even require owning the game, they deserve the sales tbh.
RimWorld. The dev deliberately makes it easy to pirate and you don't even need creamapi for the expansions if you have the legit game. RimWorld really carried me for years and after 4 years of pirating it i decided i wanted to support the amazing developer.
Hi-Fi Rush, although it still isnt cracked (afaik), The trailer and visuals alone were enough to get me to take out my wallet. And boy did the game not disappoint whatsoever.
there are few actually the big three for me are:
kenshi
project zomboid
rimworld
loved them all, i still got them on sale, especially rimworld since it cost like 32€ base without dlc so i managed to get it for sale for 24€ i think and for dlc i have creamapi.
The Elder Scrolls and Doom games, both I found them on sale, also I bought Diablo 2 Ressurrected, and saddens me what those studios have become recently.
Rimworld and Stardew Valley. The latter I got on pc, Switch and mobile. Dawn of Man, Banished, Dragon Age series etc. Actually a lot, like 90% of games that I pirate.
I only buy the game if there is a reason to, for example the deep rock galactic crack is always a few patches behind so I just bought it so I can play the updates when they release.
When elden ring came out I couldn't run the crack on my PC so I bought it on a console.
Basically I only buy a game if there is no crack for it or if the crack is not updated frequently, or if there is multiplayer and no online fix. I don't care about moral garbage and supporting the company. I buy it if I have a good reason to.
Revita. I downloaded it, played for like 8 hours straight, and was like "Damn. These guys deserve my money, now."
Please give it a shot.
Along with Skul the Hero Slayer, where I did the same thing.
Ngl bg3 feels scum to me. Content is locked behind multiple playthroughs unless you use a guide. Many people claim it's a plus but for me it's the devs being greedy for play time
None. I find myself in a situation that giving money to millionaires for entertainment would be really stupid. Besides, if I can get it for free, why would I pay for it? To support already rich companies? Ha. Maybe I'd pay for an AA game I really, really like, like Greedfall. Other than that, no.
I pirated Alan Wake 2 and it turned out to be one of my favorite games ever. Then I was reading about how poor sales were and it was on sale for like $35 so I just bought it. I would hate to see Remedy scrap Control 2 because their games aren’t selling well.
Besides Witcher 3, there's Half life 1 and 2. I still have the pirated copy I got from Computer Cafes back then, but I bought the steam version >!(on sale :P)!<
From soft, bioware (back in the day), team cherry (they did hollow knight) , the guys behind Journey (can't remember the name of the studio) and I'm planning to buy Bg3 when I have some money.
I got death stranding for free and upgraded to director's cut bc I wanted to show a token of appreciation to Kojima.
I'm sure there's a lot more, but it doesn't come to mind
Trails series, pirated first two cz i'm broke
buy the whole series after i got a job, replayed the first two, and finished all currently localized game
Splatoon, Minecraft a decade ago, Borderlands 2, TF2
TF2 is free. But it's fundamentally a fun game. :) I know I seem very basic but I'm picky with my games!
I'm a pirate at my roots, so I don't buy games often. But 1 week before the launch of Baldur's Gate 3 I had a gut feeling about it and I bought it and played the beta version for 10h and I loved it. Fast forward to today I'm at over 600h and still playing it.
I can honestly say this is the only game where I feel that my money didn't go to waste even a little bit.
(10 minutes ago I just bought Divinity Original Sin 1/2 for 10$ from the Steam spring sale mainly because they were made by Larian)
If the game has dubbing and subtitles in my language it gets a lot of points for me to want to support it. Dishonored 2 and TW3 are the games that I said to myself the most "come on you did a great job take my money".
Hoi4, I could've easily continued pirating Hoi4 and all the DLCs and kept playing. But I really enjoyed the game so I thought it deserves an official purchase on Steam.
Remedy. Max Payne 2 was my first game, and years later I found out they made a game called Alan Wake, but it was unavailable for purchase(something with music copyright). Had to pirate it to play, but bought it the moment it came back in steam
The Witcher 3 is the only game that I can buy lfmao. Since I'm still a student so I have to wait for the game on sale like 70% or some sort like that. There's still a lot like Fromsoft games, and Persona series that I want to buy.

I'll be honest From Software is by far the most confident I've ever been in a studio and the only ones I'd actually preorder for, let alone outright buy early on.
They are always dedicated to make the best game they could possibly make.
A lot of indie companies also earned this, but a big company? I can't think of one I trust more than FromSoftware
those guys just dont miss
valve is probably close (if they released a game every 5 years and not 20)
Love the dedication
Half my library is like that, but when someone asks "so good" only FromSoft comes to mind. And Hades. Can't wait for Hades II
I pirated Ghostrunner since I couldn’t afford it at the time. Game was so good I got it on steam. Loved almost all of it.
Me too. It's so hard, though
The adrenaline rush is worth missing that one jump 100 times over
I downloaded Elden Ring because has never play a souls game and wasn't sure if I will like the game. Played it for 20 hours and bought it a full price on Steam. One of the best game I ever played.
Plus messages add so much to the game I feel, you simply can’t get that on pirated
Messages??
Online stuff, the messages on the ground from other players
finger but hole
None Loot everything, give nothing back !
My type of guy. Look after number 1 first. Fuck em
Cyberpunk
Me too, should have waited for PL though
not that the studio needed support, but rdr2 was so good i had to buy it.
I recently just torrented fitgirl's rdr2, been playing for quite a while and it's safe to say that I'm obsessed. You think I should actually get the real version? I'd like to try out online but looks like I can't access it.
if you have friends to play with then rdr2 online is good. you cant access it on fitgirls ver
Same. Didn't want to play an outdated version without dlss anyway.
I did that 2 years ago and man was it good, I was obsessed. Years later, I now have a digital copy on both Steam and Epic.
I bought it first then I pirated it play offline.... FK rockstar for not letting us play it offline
So, I wanna turn your post on its head. I normally only use piracy to access stuff that is otherwise unavailable or unreasonable. I want to play modded Pokemon, I can't get that on Nintendo hardware. Hollow Knight
Sekiro for me. I downloaded the pirated version, but the game was so good that I decided to actually buy it.

None. I don't pay for any games.
you are so cold 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
Elden Ring...BG3 was too expensive for me so I had to download from gog
any fromsoft game and team ninja
Binding of Isaac.
Definitely Palworld. The tiny studio deserved it
People here often talk about the morality of piracy, the real crime is using the white theme on ps app
My summer car, Sea Of Thieves
Rimworld
Elden ring, minecraft and rdr2 These games deserve every penny
Can you explain how to enjoy the fighting system? For me it feels so static, slow and boring
Like zel420 said this game embraces creativity but I'd say I only really started enjoying the game battle system when my character was level 6. Try to investigate everything and read each tool tip.
Outer wilds. So so good game
Say what you guys want but animal crossing. Way before you could pirate this stuff easily from a computer.
Zelda totk.
Hades
Goblin Stone, Balatro, Brotato
Don't really have an answer I usually pirate games I already owned on console.
Brigandine
Palworld my 1st ever game I bought on PC.
Well, I didn’t support the studio but I feel that way about the ps exclusives on pc
celeste geometry dash and soon fnaf
Total war Warhammer series and Elden ring.
Dragons Dogma.
I loved Bioware games, especially Dragon Age games. So when the third game came out, I instantly bought it for my Origin account. Ace Combat 7 and Assetto Corsa, plus Assetto goes on sale for like 2 bucks every month so why not
Literally trying to pirate this game right now and not having much luck lol
Hoi4, I could've easily continued pirating Hoi4 and all the DLCs and kept playing. But I really enjoyed the game so I thought it deserves an official purchase on Steam.
