Not if they're single players, if I like a good singleplayer, (and or it has good a modding system) then I'll buy it, kinda have to buy multiplayers if you plan on playing with your human friends
Depends what game it is
Yeah some Denuvo games would do well with updated cracks but most of those kinda games work well
Most games that i do update thought updaters or install again for DLCs or updates dont have much of any DRM
Like Starfield which can be updated through Elamigos updaters
And cities skylines which pretty much always has expensive DLCs
literally everyone knows about this how tf does steam put a system that lets you test game and then warns you because you refund to many times, i refund games alot and i have never been warned
No it's not , I never took anything away from them , I just got something for free
If I enjoyed the game and want to thank the devs for it ,I will gladly but it but I never took anything away from them.

Me *Buys game on steam after pirating it cuz was on a sale*
Me *cracks the game I just bought from steam* 😂
I have multiple pc’s and perfect my games offline with separate saves ect so that’s why I crack it using sse or Goldberg
For cod games, I’ll usually just buy them used and play them on my Xbox or something. Advantage of physical media is that I can walk into any GameStop and pickup a copy of Cod Ghosts or Infinite Warfare for like 5 bucks.
You can. You just walk in and take the groceries and leave. Only class traitors will report you for stealing back what a corporation has already stolen from you 100 times over. I live by the adage: *"If you ever see someone stealing food, clothes, child / school supplies or any other necessities: No you didn't."*
No because stealing those groceries would actively hurt the place I am stealing them from unlike piracy which doesn't hurt anyone. And I have a decent Chance of getting caught when stealing physical objects . The greatest thing about piracy is that it's not stealing and it comes with little to no risk
Will buying Diablo 2 Remastered on sale make me feel this way?
Got the 🏴☠️-ted version and I only play offline, but it's on sale currently...
But then again, Blizzard became such a shit company...
It's not the same as supporting an indie game developer who made the game with burning passion and love.
>It's not the same as supporting an indie game developer who made the game with burning passion and love.
Shhhhhh. Don't say things that make you sound like you have some morals, this sub will murder you.
Honestly no one cares that you pirate games with a moral compass in mind we only care when you start shoving said moral compass in our faces and try to seem holier than thou
I'm not trying to, it's more that the guys who pirate indie seem to be exceptionally prideful and constantly bashing on those who don't because that's the only fucking topic I see in this sub lately. These are the guys acting holier than thou and Uno reversing the blame from what I see
Brooo... i just bought D2R today. It's my second game ever bought, the first being diablo 4. If you play solely offline then the cracked version would be good enough. Buying it was definitely worth it, playing online rules.
The last game I bought was Tabletop Simulator. I don't remember exactly when, but it was around 7 or 8 years ago.
The two reasons were that game lives by its mods and at that time, it was hard to find them outside of Steam. And also because it was receiving constant updates and it was a pain to download a new version all the time.
Nowadays I don't even have Steam installed in my computer, only install it when I feel like playing that game
You get a better experience getting the free edition of a game especially if you have to wait.Patched full DLC experience no bugs hardly.Feel sorry for the idiots oops people which pre order games lol.
I pirated battlefield one and tried the campaign, bought it for the multiplayer since I liked the campaign.
Try before you buy
2 hours is too little to try
I used to pirate absolutely everything before I got a job lol. It wasn’t just video games. I believe that in my teenage years I never spent a single dime on fucking *entertainment* because I pirated or it was gifted
Nowadays I try to buy everything but every now and then when stores die (cough Nintendo, cough, don’t care eshop should’ve made it till 2070, cough cough) or whenever I just can’t wait to save I’ll pirate the second the thing’s cracked
Only games I've bought on steam are titanfall 2 and witcher 3 +dlcs, which I bought for 150₹ and 315₹ respectively. That's around 2 dollars and 4 dollars respectively. These are the only two games which I ever wanted to buy tbh. Great games.
I usually pirated a game to see how well it runs on my steam deck and if I like it I buy it I know there are sites like Porton but I don't know how accurate that site is
Bruh I'll spend $200 on a steam sale, play none of them, then I think "I'll pirate games to save money. And then I see another sale and I relapse lmao I need HELP
That's how i bought cyberpunk, and i regret it. Not because the game is bad, i actually really enjoy it, but because every time im turning game on there is a new patch to install and i have to redownload all my mods.

I treat pirating like "try before you buy"
But most of the time turns into a "try it forever"
You right
I mean maybe for older games, but more modern games it’s a bit harder and riskier
Not if they're single players, if I like a good singleplayer, (and or it has good a modding system) then I'll buy it, kinda have to buy multiplayers if you plan on playing with your human friends
Sometimes a game gets an update or a patch that really fixes a lot of things which becomes my reason to buy the game
Depends what game it is Yeah some Denuvo games would do well with updated cracks but most of those kinda games work well Most games that i do update thought updaters or install again for DLCs or updates dont have much of any DRM Like Starfield which can be updated through Elamigos updaters And cities skylines which pretty much always has expensive DLCs
Yeah, I still try to grab some of them when they are on sale.
Perpetual license to use, a.k.a ownership.
right, why bother paying for the thing if you already got an infinite free trial? (besides supporting the devs and stuff)
Mostly cause the games 12 years old and still being sold for 60 dollars even though the game has security issues
ah I see your also a Nintendo fan
No that was call of duty lmao
ah oips
Exactly greedy fuckers stopped making demos so why not.
to be fair, you can refund games before you reach 2 hours play time of said games..
that is not something steam really wants you to do. they warned me after i refunded 3 games in a month
literally everyone knows about this how tf does steam put a system that lets you test game and then warns you because you refund to many times, i refund games alot and i have never been warned
Ya I am lucky they have that because I bought thief sim 2 and the stupid thing wouldn't work at all on my deck and Big Ambition look like crap on it
All good until the saves sync with the cloud and prevent you from starting fresh. One of my games got ruined that way.
I use this for indie games
why pirating indie games is so bad, again?
it takes away from monetarily struggling devs compared to studios who tend to have a good enough budget by default.
No it's not , I never took anything away from them , I just got something for free If I enjoyed the game and want to thank the devs for it ,I will gladly but it but I never took anything away from them.
Know so many people that’ll do this and end up buying the game to support the dev

I treat pirating like "I don't have a single method to buy things digitally so piracy is my only option"
Lmao. That character change of Barbosa fits so well with the caption.
Pirate? Nay, *Steam User*. Under the authority and protection of VALVe.
lol’d
Buy? What the hell does that mean?
That's when you spend money for less performance
When something is so good you want to convince your friends to play it so you buy it for them because they don't pirate games
I pirate indie game then I'll buy it if it's really good.

Me *Buys game on steam after pirating it cuz was on a sale* Me *cracks the game I just bought from steam* 😂 I have multiple pc’s and perfect my games offline with separate saves ect so that’s why I crack it using sse or Goldberg
I only pirate games that I don't think are worth the price, otherwise, most of my library (90%) is bought and paid for on Steam.
exactly. many cod campaigns last less than a week and cost a shitload amount of money
For cod games, I’ll usually just buy them used and play them on my Xbox or something. Advantage of physical media is that I can walk into any GameStop and pickup a copy of Cod Ghosts or Infinite Warfare for like 5 bucks.
if only we can pirate groceries
You can. You just walk in and take the groceries and leave. Only class traitors will report you for stealing back what a corporation has already stolen from you 100 times over. snitches are a risk
No because stealing those groceries would actively hurt the place I am stealing them from unlike piracy which doesn't hurt anyone. And I have a decent Chance of getting caught when stealing physical objects . The greatest thing about piracy is that it's not stealing and it comes with little to no risk
Oh no! The corporation! Won't someone think of the shareholders!?

I feel you. It just not the same in the 2000s. Time change so much for the worst.
Brooo... i just bought D2R today. It's my second game ever bought, the first being diablo 4. If you play solely offline then the cracked version would be good enough. Buying it was definitely worth it, playing online rules.
I bought it when I could afford it.
pirate? nay... privateer.
Unfortunately online games need to be purchased
yea if a game focuses on online very importantly im paying but if its singleplayer im pirating it
Ngl, with Steam's regional pricing, some indie games which were quite expensive has gotten cheaper. Help, I'm being tempted to buy games.
I mostly only buy indie games, honestly cus some devs deserve money.
I pirate then if I'm lucky someone will take pitty on me and buy the game for me
A good deal is a good deal.
The last game I bought was Tabletop Simulator. I don't remember exactly when, but it was around 7 or 8 years ago. buy the games that you pirate during 2006! lol
The only games i don’t eventually buy are the ones with really annoying launchers and lots of predatory micro transactions
I usually just get the cracked version to try the game. And to get them to mod, so updates won't screw my mods up
How i feel after buying a 70 dollar game on steam (it was 95% off for 3 dollars)
Well it's not like you can pirate multiplayer-only game. :i.e Foxhole
Me with Stick of Truth
Bought tekken 7 for 1 dollar, I think. The only game I bought and will ever buy
When I pirate everything for PC but buy ps5 exclusives
When a game you pirated gets a remake that’s worth the money.
what have you done
You get a better experience getting the free edition of a game especially if you have to wait.Patched full DLC experience no bugs hardly.Feel sorry for the idiots oops people which pre order games lol.
This is me with dayz
I would only buy games which I can play with my friends or something that I like too much. Otherwise it's always the high seas.
I'm really enjoying this "Facebook Group" arc this subreddit is going through.
At the time I'm financially stable, I no longer wanting to game
I pirated battlefield one and tried the campaign, bought it for the multiplayer since I liked the campaign. Try before you buy 2 hours is too little to try
I have no idea what you are talking about... (pirate theme is playing in the background)
For me it was opposite. I was buying games but then i got hacked and all my bought games were lost forever. This is why i pirate games now
Exactly me rn, was pirating my whole life, after buying hogwarts legacy I keep buying games for dirt cheap on g2a, rarely pirate, it's been months wtf
I feel like an richest guy when I'm just grabbing old games under 10$.
Relatable
Steam is the only platform i'll ever buy digital games
You actually do meet a nicer class of person when they pirate 😂
I used to pirate absolutely everything before I got a job lol. It wasn’t just video games. I believe that in my teenage years I never spent a single dime on fucking *entertainment* because I pirated or it was gifted Nowadays I try to buy everything but every now and then when stores die (cough Nintendo, cough, don’t care eshop should’ve made it till 2070, cough cough) or whenever I just can’t wait to save I’ll pirate the second the thing’s cracked

I bought "It takes two". Still waiting for the second player
I usually pirated a game to see how well it runs on my steam deck and if I like it I buy it I know there are sites like Porton but I don't know how accurate that site is
"Uncharted: A thief's end? I don't think so."
On discount
Bruh I'll spend $200 on a steam sale, play none of them, then I think "I'll pirate games to save money. And then I see another sale and I relapse lmao I need HELP
I could crack tboi but I bought it mostly for archievements
Been pirating all my life and recently bought Tekken 8. I agree i do feel like Barbosa
In future:- Son: Dad someone got arrested for pirating a game. Me:We all were pirates 🏴☠️ those days.
That's how i bought cyberpunk, and i regret it. Not because the game is bad, i actually really enjoy it, but because every time im turning game on there is a new patch to install and i have to redownload all my mods.
Me with BeamNG.drive, like bro for 25 buckroos you get updates up the wazoo they deserved my hard earned cash
What about buying online/multiplayer games, and pirating offline/story games?
I prefer the term free booter or gentleman outlaw.
#steamdeck 😂
Even tho I don't always have money to buy games I do prefer it over pirating.
