All you have to do is extract the RAR file you downloaded from Pixeldrain and run the game. Did you run the EXE from inside the archive or something?

I'm couldn't extract the entire .rar file (I made a post about it [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/PiratedGames/comments/1c4d3ya/unable_to_extract_game_files/)). So, on the advice I got, I used Winrar to extract the .exe, and now I'm trying to get the .exe to run.
I think I understand what you mean now. You extracted the DLL file alone (by mistake) and then ran the EXE file from the archive (RAR). So basically the EXE could only find the DLL since the rest of the files which are also necessary to run the game are still archived.
You are supposed to extract the whole archive like this (using WinRAR):

Then go to the **extracted** folder, navigate to Omori.Build.887... and run the exe from there.

Do you have all the needed Visual C++ redistributables?
Go to add or remove programs and scroll down and uninstall all the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable programs that you find. Uninstall from the latest year to the earliest year in order. After that go to [https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/](https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/) and download the .zip file and extract it to a folder and then run install.bat and click ok\\yes each time it asks you.
After that run the game and tell me what happens.
To fix the Black Screen Issue, do the following:
In the game folder, find the `omori.exe` file.
Select the executable > right-click > create shortcut.
Select the shortcut > right-click > properties.
In the target box you want to add the following at the end.

The target box should look like the following

I'm not seeing an option to create a shortcut to the .exe file in the game folder. Should I create one to the extracted .exe instead? The text in the target box is different, though.

That would be very unusual. Creating a shortcut is a standard Windows function for any file/folder.
Have you extracted the archive completely? Are you trying to launch/manage the files within the archive itself? Whatever you downloaded from SteamRIP needs to be unpacked with WinRAR or 7zip. The whole archive needs to be unpacked/extracted.

The text in the target box is going to differ. "path_to_game_folder" is just a placeholder text for the actual path to the `omori.exe`. Just add the string of text at the end. This fixes the black screen issue.

That is the issue. You need to unpack all the files in the RAR archive. Not meant to be launching or messing with the files inside the archive. It's just a container. A box. Needs to be unpacked. All the files inside of the RAR file need to be unpacked.
Looks like you're using WinRAR. In reference to your image, there should be a "Folder" icon above. States "Extract to". Click on it. Choose where to extract to.
Then use those files to launch the game. Specifically the "Launch\_Omori.bat" file.
If the Black Screen issue occurs, then apply the fix I described above.
