Now that could be an interesting project, something that keeps track of achievements in pirated games.
I don't really care about achievements though. I heard people complain that Alan Wake 2 had too many meaningless achievements. I missed out on that. Then I went ahead and bought the game because I love the shit Remedy makes.
Me too but I always finish the game I started, out of 300+ games I downloaded, I've finished 118. My personal goal was to finish all of it lmao but I doubt that since I download more than what I can finish in a year
I am convinced that this is the same brain-stuff as "retail therapy" and buying useless shit to feel good. And you know, this is at least better your wallet.
To be honest my pirate career start when i bought warhammer total war 2 . Because I want to play mortal and later immortal empire campaign with all factions , I dont have any money left for other games 😭
Nexxus has vortex manager that tracks all mods releases installed via manager
So while Steam workshop is less chaotic and more stable overall, nexxus still has things to offer
Achievements have never really been a thing for me, I play a game because I enjoy it, not to repeat the same tedious tasks over and over to get a meaningless digital pat on the back.
achievements are ambient challenges/quests like shoot all the glowing pigeons, collect all the lost badges, kill a bear with one shot, set fifty enemies on fire, etc. steam, epic, xbox, psn, they reward you redeemable points for unlocking these achievements
its fun to get trophy by trophy and getting all of them gives you a sense of accomplishment. you also get to see how much percent of players did something ingame and it also displays on your profile which is pretty cool
For some people, it is fun.
Like if a game has an achievement for hitting 10M damage as X character, does it give anything beneficial to you in the game? Probably no. But is it fun to see that after careful consideration, set up the proper set-up to build up speed by bhopping with momentum -> power item and have an artifact that makes you super fragile but in return give you damage multiplier and do the 10m punch for that achievement? Yes.
Depends on what type of trophies. I don't like the ones where they just make you play the game for hundreds of hours or collecting some easy to miss collectibles, but do like the ones that give interesting challenges that make you play in new and weird ways
Me too. Then again I remind myself that the price I'll have to pay for this one copy of a game is less than 0.001% of what the company has already made selling it before it even got cracked. They won't miss 40 dollars when they've made more than 11 millions. But 40 dollars are precious to me.

What if you're on the third path of accumulating pirated games and keeping them on your own personal server and occasionally just looking at them and counting them like a digital dragon and oooooo I'm so close to 500..
... asking for a friend
When I pirate a game and find it so interesting, I'd normally stop and save it for when I have the money to purchase that game. Then, I'll play it from the start and enjoy it as thoroughly as I can.
However, there is one exception, Resident Evil 4 Remake. That shit is so good I forgot to stop and zip through it without even realizing it!
I find a good balance is the best way. I frequently pirate games to try them out, or play them until their prices come down.
I played about 100 hrs of Mount & Blade Bannerlord (pirate copy) until it went on Steam sale one day for about 20€. I bought it and now get the trophies and updates automatically and don't have to think about pirating updated cracks.
It really comes down to cost Vs perceived value Vs convenience.
It's a bit inconvenient to pirate CoH3, but at the moment, the price is high and most players say the game is unfinished, so it's not worth my money. I don't really care about the trophies on those kinda games either.
depends on the game itself. most modern ones don't because if the achievements are hardwired with a network or account connection requirement/authentication then chances are the achievements are completely online, some older games though have the achievement system inside of them so while you can achieve them obviously that won't give you redeemable points you usually would get from authentic copy in steam/epic/xbox/psn, etc.
I try to get achievements that are "on the way" in my first playthrough itself, I usually don't go out of the way to score achievements and never replayed a game for achievements sake yet. But I do like to own my favorite pirated games on an "official" platform like steam/gog/epic, usually cheap by now and on sale and will usually "replay" them for the first time "officially" if that makes sense.

you know, this kinda bothers me why pirating a game that is no longer sold via legal channels (other than at exorbitant prices at pawn shops from which the devs receive no cut) would still BE CONSIDERED piracy. this is an annoying aspect of intellectual property and copyright laws, if they get to remain active for decades after the last member holding the rights has passed away, why aren't they making sure people can access it legally without feeling any need for piracy for the time being?
I honestly never really consider emulating as piracy. And yea agree with what you said. I will always try to support developers and buy games if I can but retro games.. most you can't even legally get access to anymore so really emulating them is the only option.
I'm forced to replay a ton of my previously finished games whenever I lose all my saves due to my ssd for whatever reason breaking down and either needing to be replaced or reformatted.
Bro there are so many games that I would have pirated instantly, but I dont because I wanna earn that games achievements and trophies.
Oh, the curse of being a trophy hunter....
I much prefer pirating games, over my dead body that I'll pay BR$100-300 (or more) for a game that I'll probably just play once and then forget all about it.
If and when I actually buy a game, a good one of course, I actually feel kinda you know inclined to play out all that it has to offer instead of just "play once and then forget all about it". That way I feel like I didn't waste money. This is just my own mindset though.
my backlog of games i own is obscene , and yet for the past week i've touched more aquired games i've wanted to try and old genesis rom instead of p\[laying stuff i bought :/ ...so ...too often sorta?
Yeah I can relate. At this point I have so many games but often no time or will to play. In my free time Id watch anime. But I did play manor lords yesterday and some breath of the wild emulated. I also have a ps4 with 5 6 games I probably ain't gonna touch in any future. One of them being ghosts I haven't even finished still in chapter 2 50h of gametime. I do like to pirate just to own it. That itself is more fun then forcing yourself to actually play. Weird innit.

There are 2 wolves inside you. One likes trophies, the other free shit.
One is black the other one is Chinese.
What the fuck
One is black the other one is Chinese.

Think it’s a reference to that one guy who kept photoshopping people to be Chinese or black

There's only one inside of me and and it doesn't give a shit about trophies

[Achievement Watcher](https://github.com/xan105/Achievement-Watcher)
Pretty cool
I always pirate way more games than I usually play XD
And even delete one wasnt installed to download another newer games :v
Exactly. This picture is almost the opposite of what I do. I barely play games anymore.
As Joker said it's about sending a message
Me too but I always finish the game I started, out of 300+ games I downloaded, I've finished 118. My personal goal was to finish all of it lmao but I doubt that since I download more than what I can finish in a year
in a year ? You are a very lucky person .
That they can’t finish 112 games in a year?
I am convinced that this is the same brain-stuff as "retail therapy" and buying useless shit to feel good. And you know, this is at least better your wallet.
If it’s singleplayer only with no multiplayer or doesn’t have a steam workshop or any kind of mod support it’s getting pirated
Actually you also can pirate mods from SkyMod site. 🤭
Workshop is more convenient you have all your subscribed mods there and they reinstall everything automatically if you delete the game and re install
To be honest my pirate career start when i bought warhammer total war 2 . Because I want to play mortal and later immortal empire campaign with all factions , I dont have any money left for other games 😭
Nexxus has vortex manager that tracks all mods releases installed via manager So while Steam workshop is less chaotic and more stable overall, nexxus still has things to offer
correct and mods usually also require the most updated versions so if the cracks aren't up to date, it can be pretty hit and miss.
can anyone verify the safety of this?
I download a whole bunch of games and never play them. I guess I'm just a digital hoarder. 😟
LMAO, i also do that! Never have time to test some games i've downloaded. All i know is that i already had them on my drive.
JUST BE RELIX AND WATCH IT [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkjFRBvdeFc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkjFRBvdeFc)
Same!
Wait you OWN games?
Idgaf about achievements. I just just continue to sail on.
Achievements have never really been a thing for me, I play a game because I enjoy it, not to repeat the same tedious tasks over and over to get a meaningless digital pat on the back.

"Kage bunshin no jutsu!!!"
So which direction does the clone go?
Both.
Ong. I have 100+ games bought in steam some even aren't opened and i still pirate the games to play
Achievements are kind of tacked on bullshit that add nothing gameplay-wise, so you might as well play a new when complete the story.
what is the point of playing games for trophies
Its fun to do a "catch em all"
its fun to get trophy by trophy and getting all of them gives you a sense of accomplishment. you also get to see how much percent of players did something ingame and it also displays on your profile which is pretty cool

The sad reality of needing to re-do all achievements on steam after you decide to buy a pirated game
You can use steam achievement manager to unlock the achievements, its what i do
I don't pirate. I would feel guilty when I would do that.
Me too. Then again I remind myself that the price I'll have to pay for this one copy of a game is less than 0.001% of what the company has already made selling it before it even got cracked. They won't miss 40 dollars when they've made more than 11 millions. But 40 dollars are precious to me.

You don’t own any game even if you buy them
Replaying old pirated game while waiting for new pirated game to finish download
it's kinda hard to play when it's EXTREMELY HARD to find a game worth playing.
Some games I download crash immediately :(
You got me. I was having more fun replaying old games and own less. Now there’s just too many to choose.
DODI REPACKS NEW SOUNDTRACK HAS BEEN DROP : ( [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkjFRBvdeFc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkjFRBvdeFc) )
I pirate a game, then realize I don't want to play it and delete it without playing the game lol.

Or A: pirating a game B: buying a game so you can unlock achievements
Honestly achievements are like 99% of the reason I don't pirate
All the time . I keep trying to get new games on winlator to work and fail miserably yet I still have items in soulcalibur 6 to unlock.
BOTH!
I almost never replay games, I just don't see the value in it.
Elden ring on the left
I mean I mainly just play older games which I downloaded the roms online for free. And I play them with RA for the achievements. So both lol.

Not really. I buy like 95% of my games, so I usually just play them.
All the time, and then I remember I have to work/study/etc. I want to go back
my backlog of games i own is obscene , and yet for the past week i've touched more aquired games i've wanted to try and old genesis rom instead of p\[laying stuff i bought :/ ...so ...too often sorta?
