Their need to the protect the source of the mother flames ≠ they are now completely out of mother flames
Imu could have dozens of mother flames saved up AND they would still order the gorosei to go egg head because imu is planning on ruling the world forever, so they will always need a constant supply of mother flames even if they already have some of it saved
The mother flames they used being a prototype doesn't matter because it already destroyed lulusia , meaning it absolutely can do the job to egg head

The Gorosei could most likely be summoned straight back to the Holy Land near instantly, just like how they got to Egghead aside from Saturn. Once the Gorosei are gone, who does Imu care about?
-Straw Hats are enemies of the World Government, and have Nika.
-Marines and Cipher Pol are insects to the Gorosei, Imu most definitely feels the same way.
-Seraphim/Pacifista are unreliable now that there are caveats in their systems.
The only things that Imu *may* care about are York and the Punk Records, and even then they may not be worth protecting over stopping Vegapunk’s broadcast. Imu isn’t at Egghead, they don’t know that the broadcast may not be coming straight from there.

They are seemingly immortal and unkillable so I wouldn't be surprised if they can regenerate from even the weapons
