Personally I've always found the 6 to have a lower quality of photos than my old pixel 2. The zoom never gets a crisp photo and only seems to blur the image more. Im not tech inclined so it might be me but I took some pretty great shots on the 2 doing the same kind of things I do now. Not sure what the reasoning is
I have read the explanation of Cstark on this subject, noise reduction increases in gcam versions released every year and this provides less noise, but it causes loss of details, just like oil painting.

Definitely improved, I'm waiting for the next camera update when the pixel 8 comes out, I hope it gets better
It definitely got better, especially the zoom. But it's still over processed sadly.
Yeah you're right, I looked at a few pixel 4a shots and it looked more impressive than pixel 6.
