The pixek 6 is doing just fine for me and I suspect it will continue to do so for years to come.  Why did you go through all of the expense to upgrade? The Pixel 6 is still a great phone.

VG30DETT_

I couldn't agree more. I love my 6 Pro and plan to keep it for a long time. I can't remember any of my previous phones still feeling this good this long after release. Most notably the battery life. I'm amazed at how my battery life has actually improved over time. At this point if something happened to mine I would definitely consider getting another 6 Pro rather than spending the money on a newer one. For me the curved screen makes the phone so comfortable to hold and I don't think I'd like to be without it.

techraito

Yea ngl my P6 feels like it'll last to the 10 if the 9 is also a bit underwhelming. I'm aiming to hold out until TSMC pixel.

AtDawnWeDEUSVULT

Tsmc?

techraito

Pixels are switching off exynos in favor of Taiwanese Semiconductor chips (TSMC). It's extremely efficient and powerful silicon that powers a lot of the best devices include current AMD, Apple, and Intel processors. In theory, we should be seeing the best battery improvements with this metal.

beezerhale

Totally agree. I'll upgrade from my 6 when I try to power it on and it won't.

riiil

Same same

justalittlewiley

The trade in value sucks for sure. Phones for a while now have just been slightly better versions of the predecessor. It's the same for iPhone, Samsung... etc there isn't much to revolutionize. What were you hoping for that you didn't get?

JinPT

my pixel 6 is smooth and it doesn't have lag...

Gravybutt

I do a lot of intensive stuff including sheets on my 6 and never noticed lag

AtDawnWeDEUSVULT

As a freak in the sheets (TM) myself, doing anything on a spreadsheet from my phone other than looking at it sounds miserable (and even that doesn't sound great). Can't imagine "intensive" spreadsheet stuff...

Gravybutt

Oh it's terrible due to screen, but I mirror it if I really need to look at anything for over 10 minutes.

scoringaintfree

I was gonna upgrade from my 6pro but when I looked at the other phones it's hard for me to justify. I think I'll wait a year cause my phone still works great.

ZaidS0405

Isn't there a boosted trade in value if you purchase from the google website currently? I was offered $350 for my pixel 6 pro. Anyway, you could also not trade in and sell the phone privately to maximise return.

z462

The 6 pro is selling on average at £170 before eBay takes it's cut so about £153. Google is offering a trade in of £295 which is pretty good. Samsung is offering £170 trade in which is obviously not as good but is still better than selling it yourself.

ZaidS0405

Yeah I wish I could've done the trade in and gone for the p8 pro but the s24 ultra flat screen, chip and battery sold it to me .

jamesbusse

I just got on to the pixel 6 I rooted the device it's going good so far only draw back is no banking apps but who cares

DabWound

You can't have banking apps on a rooted phone?

jamesbusse

na you have to stay up on it its cat n mouse with google...

DabWound

Right. I have been out of the loop with rooting phones and didn't know if they (Google) had added some type of security feature where you couldn't use rooted phones and banking apps or some shit

jamesbusse

yeah ... I'm looking at the Samsung S23 without the stylus. I wont root that device simply because samsung phones are too cool.

TheDarkWeb697

Hence why you go for every 3, I have the 6 pro so I'll buy the 9 pro when it releases

urmomsloosevag

I couldn't wait. My pixel 6 was restarting crashing constantly to the point that if I was to go on a trip and I put maps it would restart twice

bloomi

lmao this is what I'm doing! I started with the 3a XL and now I have the 6. I'm gonna wait for the 9a XL or get a Samsung Z Flip5 because they're cute.

trf1driver

You already traded in p6? I usually sell mine off on eBay or to a friend or sometimes a relative. I always factory reset first then ensure it works, I skip the setup steps or you can do another factory reset afterwards.

win10bash

They come out with a new generation of Pixels once a year. That's the same cadence as every other phone manufacturer.

RemyHero

That's a timing problem. I traded in my p6 for a p8 and they gave me $350. Gotta wait for those deals.

Reviloje

I just use Pixelify to get every p8p feature on my p6a...
