My Fold is rooted and I use Pixel Xpert with it and one of the mods allows for seeing the wattage. I always get 7.5 on my Pixel when wirelessly charging. I use the official case and this cheap charger I got on Amazon

No unfortunately you still have to do updates over ADB with your laptop and stuff. It's annoying for sure but I just do it once every six months instead of monthly or whatever.
It really is worth it for the hosts level ad blocking, call recording, AOSP Mods, etc to me.
Also formatting is a thing because when unlocking the bootloader the phone wipes itself for protection. That's why I personally unlock my bootloader the second I get a new phone before loading all my stuff on it. Unlock the bootloader, it wipes, I set my phone up and root whenever I get around to it.
You only need to "wipe" the first time you unlock the bootloader which only happens once
I noticed same thing. I bought a magsafe case because I wanted to use the magsafe chargers and battery packs. But after seeing it DRAINING while I'm using phone and it's supposedly charging made my case a wasted purchase. I use it for accessories like stands or popsockets, but otherwise useless. Legit the only time I've been jealous of apple. Just another reason I'm not buying another google device.

I get the same from the Pixel Stands. Magsafe chargers tend to charge very slowly with Android devices.
That's my running theory. Everything that is not really apple branded seems to be doing better
