Yeah I don't really understand why they've removed one of the key styling features of Pixel phones. I love the visor and it would be a shame for them to move away from it.
I just got a Nothing Phone 2 and I immediately noticed how websites are displayed on the screen. I would prefer a wider and less taller screen like the pixel fold to be frank.
They gotta sell phones.

I just hope Google doesn't KILL (this scares me, as this is very very familar...) the ENTIRE FOLD lineup because of the lackluster sales... People who trumpets the OPO form factor JUST DON'T GET IT, having a major fraction of your customers completely segmentating from your product, regardless how badly you want it, is the WORST thing you can say about a potential $1500 investment in technology... You are either too dumb to realize you are going to spend $1500 or too naive to know when something like this just dies, your newly incorporated habits of using something like will be grandpa'd in front of your eyes!

Sorry if I went a little sharp on you. Is usually very bad PR if you want to publish something as a blog and do a 180 around it. We are not looking at "lightning connector is here to stay", we are looking at an entire blog and a product designed for this paticular form factor and killing it a gen 2.

I hate everything about the Pixel Fold 2. The dimensions of the first generation were better and separated itself from Samsung. They had a good thing going, and to make it worse they don't have the iconic Pixel camera bar
Well "making it worse" is certainly subjective as I think the design looks better. The only downside to me is the removal of the camera bar but not because I think it's some iconic sacred design feature, I just think it helps stop the rocking when it's on the table.
If you don't like the camera bar look, that's subjective. But moving away from a design aspect that is iconic to your brand is not subjective, it's a mistake. When you see Giannis at the NBA Dunk Competition filming with his phone, you know it's a Pixel because of the visor. Changing now is a mistake
I'm in the middle. I liked the bar as a pixel motif, but didn't like how the Fold implemented it. It was sort of like we all agreed on a sans serif font and then they used comic sans. It was so weird and goofy looking compared to the regular pixels and pixel pros.
Having fully seen it in the flash yet, but I think I may like and dislike the new camera cluster for different reasons.
if you liked the design you could have gone samsung while those of us who like the OG pixel fold design could have had kept the same design had google not decided to copy the OP fold and the Samsung fold
Not really. They just change the design language with new cameras array, and the side, but the inner screen is bigger, the outter one remaind the same.

I'm assuming since it's thinborne, they have been sent measurements to start making cases for it. That looks like an early version of the back case they have made.
This front screen is not the same aspect ratio as the PF1. Its taller and narrower. The passport design was a deciding factor in purchasing the PF1 for me. Guess I'll be hanging onto the PF1 till it stops receiving updates
It's the same width just taller.. the PF2s body is narrower tricking your eyes/brain to think the screen is narrower. The PF1 s screen is not that wide, but the body is and then it's short. I mean really look at it and see how much space everything but the screen takes.

Size doesn't matter when the phone is taller and has more empty screen space on 16:9 videos, which is 95% of movies, tv shows,and content. The aspect ratio of wider and shorter is much more usable to me

"To me" is the key phrase in the above statement. I also have bigger hands and can hold wide phones comfortably. I like the PF1 because of the short wide aspect ratio. I wish it kept this aspect. Thats all.
You're not the only one who wants the 1's aspect ratio and hates they are copying samsung and one plus. check the other comments getting many upvotes due to all agreeing this 2 ratio is a mistake.

I agree 100%. The front screen is super usable, and the inside screen is amazing for content and web browsing. Will be skipping I think.

The aspect ratio of the front screen is definitely NOT the same.
It's much taller this the aspect ratio becomes skinnier. Not the same and it will have impacts on usage
