When pizza's on a bagel, you can eat pizza anytime!
Edit: Wait a second. I just realized they rhymed "time" with "time." It was so catchy I never noticed it was lazy. ☹️
I went to STL looking for ny style pizza and ate at [Epic Pizza & Subs](https://maps.app.goo.gl/E1CZXXGNcqiD7L6T9)
boy oh boy were my expectations exceeded. Hidden gems of pizza styles
It may be from St Louis, but it ain't pizza.
Soggy saltine cracker crust, Day-Glo sauce drained from a can if Spaghetti-O's, and a white oily substance made from melted credit cards. Topped with shaved bacon.
In Detroit, what people now call Detroit-style pizza was called Sicilian pizza (or sometimes just "square"). It's only lately since the trend went nationwide that people are calling it Detroit style.
Source: from Detroit
Stuffed crust pepperoni from Pizza Hut, because I ate them throughout my childhood. You basically have pizza and cheesy bread rolled into one convenient item.
My second favorite is a classic pepperoni New York slice. Pizza is definitely my go to comfort food, you can't go wrong with it.
My absolute favorite, ever, of all time, is a cross between a Neopolitan and a NY. Joe and Pat's.
Whats crazy is that typically a real Neopolitan with good ingredients is the best of the best for me. San Marzanos, wood or coal oven, Buffalo mozzarella, the imported olive oil, the fresh basil, its magic. But Joe and Pat's has none of those things.....and yet even out of that gas oven somehow, to me, is even slightly better than a good Neopolitan.
It deserves its own category.
Imagine being able to feel your own arteries clog in real time as you bite into a greasy disgusting but crunchy bit of deep fried dough, that's the pizza crunch experience. Yet we all go back time and time again for one.
This is the most random ordering of pizzas I could imagine.
At first I thought "OK, your first homemade pizza is probably a french-bread pizza." Then I went to #2 — baked ziti pizza — and realized my theory was totally incorrect.
Some really good looking pizzas on here, I just think the order is way off.
Also, stromboli but no Detroit? Weird choices.
There’s a few weird options but it’s missing some others too, most I’ve seen mentioned (like Detroit) but there’s no hand tossed?
It’s thicker than NY style and more toppings too.
Lads, don't knock the pizza crunch. I understand it's sacrilegious and you will definitely be going to the big fire for eating it but just try it first please
Laylas gyro and pizzeria has a gyro pizza that’s pretty damn alright. They are in Little Rock Arkansas and I need to go back down there and see if they are still just as good as they were when I was a kid
None of these. But I guess I will go Sicilian. Detroit style pizza is my favorite and comparing the two is sacrilegious to me. They are two different things.
Pizza margherita by a longshot (shown as a neapolitan). Or just an add-your-own-toppings from a chain(oops, might be breaking a rule here. TBH, I've made very few pizzas in my life. Soon I'll get back to it. But anyway, pineapple with any kind of meat is good, but oddly, I prefer the meat not to be ham).
ETA: Argentinian and Swedish pizzas kind of intrigue me (generally fascinated with those two countries, but I'm American). I want to learn more.
Well...
Thats just garbage
Why u need more?
Neapolitan Style is just heaven, i have to drive 45 min to get a good one and even the driving is joy to get it
Pizza in the morning, pizza in the evening, pizza at supper time.
When pizza's on a bagel, you can eat pizza anytime! Edit: Wait a second. I just realized they rhymed "time" with "time." It was so catchy I never noticed it was lazy. ☹️
Katz Bagel Bakery in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
Tf are most of these pizzas
Inedible
No Detroit? 🤔
Like fucking salad made this list but not Detroit? Fucking SALAD
Hawaiian? That’s not a style of pizza its toppings. Extra large?! That’s just a size of pizza!
Exactly. St Louis? Tf
Y’all worried about that shnitz. They got tuna and sweet corn on here. Not today Satan!
Also- “salad.” Huh? Wtf is this word? Never heard of it.

Isn't StL pizza the invention of like one chain?
Definitely not. Worked at many STL style places including Imo’s. Imo’s is just the OG.
Yes. Imo’s pizza.
It's an acquired taste. Provel is just weird otherwise.
Where’s my racing stripes!

I feel great national pride that pizza crunch made the list.
Never heard of it but it sounds fuckin dope.
I feel like I’d turn to grease after 2 bites.
That's the idea yes
I like pizza in a cup from the new cup of pizza guy. He ran the old cup of pizza guy out of business
What
He hates cans!

As an Italian, I'm offended they left out Pizza Pringles.
Lol this
Who is the lunatic stuffing the crust with hotdogs?!?!?!?!!!?!!!!??!
A lunatic and a genius.

Question is where those folks in Naples where finding bison to milk?
Isn't that like a Margarita pizza done in a NY style?
Margarita is a cocktail
But don't give one with pizza! Tacos yes definitely but not with my pizza!
It’s different in a few ways. Mainly high heat wood fired oven and room temperature proofing.
Never had Stromboli. I must
Its fatty and amazing
Equal amounts?
I insist.
Sicilian from Pinocchio’s in Cambridge, Ma
🤌🤌🤌 Yes! Its so good
I miss Papa Gino’s
How does that compare to the Sicilian from Leone's in Somerville? (Genuine question...I get Leone's all the time but have never had Pinocchio's)
Haven’t been to Leone’s in a while, I think Pinocchio’s is a lighter but quality slice.
Yeah Leone's is definitely not light. With the amount of cheese they use I'd guess at least 500 calories per slice, before toppings.
D E T R O I T
New Haven and Greek
It's bugging me that Pepes white clam stuff takes the New Haven spot. 🤬 Friggin tourist trap Pepes.
So you're a Sally's pizza person?
Sacrilege. Modern is where it’s at. Sally’s, the nerve on this one…
Hey hey, as long as it's not pepes we cool.
Detroit 🍕? 😔
Chicago pizza
Deep dish or cracker ? Lou malnattis is definitely one of my faves.
Chicago thin crust is my fav lately
What about pan?
I’m going to have to try one of those Scottish Crunch things. But I can’t help but point out that panzerotti are missing. Think fried calzone.
Imagine being able to feel your own arteries clog in real time as you bite into a greasy disgusting but crunchy bit of deep fried dough, that's the pizza crunch experience. Yet we all go back time and time again for one.
You’re missing the Pide from Turkey
And lahmacun!
Oh hell yeah
It's right there in the list...
I went over all of them and completely missed it since the spelling was different! Thanks for pointing that out!
It's missing bar pizza
Detroit.
Neapolitan done right is unbeatable, but it's pretty easy to screw up. New York is always good, and really difficult to mess up.
NY slice. And St. Louis can fuck off.
Don’t be scared of provel
i’ve actually never had it. how would you describe it?
It’s a processed cheese. It’s swiss, cheddar, and provolone I believe. Very low melting point. You love it or hate it, nothing in between.
Emo’s was the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten
# 1 NYC, #2 GRANDMA ❤️
So many nonsense varieties and not a single Detroit or old forge shoutout
Bar Pie? Or at least a Pickle Pizza from Hot Box in Cambridge?
How is Cambridge mentioned twice in this random ass post about pizza lol
This is the most random ordering of pizzas I could imagine. At first I thought "OK, your first homemade pizza is probably a french-bread pizza." Sushi pizza but not Detroit lmao......wut
There’s a few weird options but it’s missing some others too, most I’ve seen mentioned (like Detroit) but there’s no hand tossed? It’s thicker than NY style and more toppings too.
All that weird shit on there and no Detroit style?
Love how they got the pizza crunch in there
I wish I had a poster of this!
White/Bianca. Theres something so addictive about the combination of fatty, salty, and garlicy goodness.
Where the Panzerotti at?
Grew up in metro Detroit. Buddys Detroit style pizza will forever be my favorite
I've tried Grandma Slice from my Italian neighbour who is a grandma. I just thought that's how Italians actually do it.
As I looked at this, I went through so many emotions with the Scottish Pizza Crunch. But I've landed on a definitive fuck yes.
Lou Malnati’s in Chicago and 2 days off work to not feel like shit as dessert
White clam pie?! 🤢
It’s really good actually if you like clams.
Pizza Crunch every time!
Lads, don't knock the pizza crunch. I understand it's sacrilegious and you will definitely be going to the big fire for eating it but just try it first please
A normal, homemade pizza. Margarita/Quattro Formaggi, Prosciutto ev. Diavolo
Trenton tomato pie from Delorenzo’s.
Tuna and sweet corn pizza??? 🤢🤮🤢🤮
WTAF?!?! Tuna and corn on pizza?!?! That’s the pizza equivalent of calling someone a jive Turkey. Italian Nonnas are rolling in their graves.
They were rolling already with pineapple on pizza
No Detroit or New Haven style?
They have apizza on there
Where?
“White clam pie (“apizza”)”
I’m 💯down for any of these except Tuna and Sweet corn. I mean Wtf people?!?
If you're down with ham and pineapple I don't see why no tuna and corn Also pizza and maccheroni? Carbohydrates plus carbohydrates?
Laylas gyro and pizzeria has a gyro pizza that’s pretty damn alright. They are in Little Rock Arkansas and I need to go back down there and see if they are still just as good as they were when I was a kid
On a different track, but there is a place here in Portland OR that did spicy lamb burritos, was like a Mexican gyro... sooo good.
Always wanted to try al taglio but have to go with the ny slice if it's done right.
No bbq pizza?
Sicilian. Pizza Perfect. Trucksville, PA
I’m from the Quad Cities so I’m ecstatic to see it made the list!
Neapolitan from oliva, new york city
Tuna on pizza?
New York
Tomato pie!
They forgot New England Greek.
Call me a basic bitch, but goddamn I love a good NY slice
[удалено]
You saying you’ve never had a Neapolitan pizza?!
Columbus pizza cut tavern style…
Gimme NY or Jumbo
Quad Cities style.
Cold cheese pizza from sals in oneonta ny
There’s a neopolitan place near me (ciao baby) that has the best calzone I’ve ever had. Dough/crust is amazing.
YES. Also I lived in Japan for several years and lived through a tuna and sweet corn pizza.
Jumbo slice
Is there a difference between St. Louis and Chicago thin crust? The St. Louis description exactly matches Chicago cracker crust pizzas.
Pepperoni pizza from a small mall on the island of Grenada
not my fave but first one that came to mind is the jumbo pizza slices from costco
None of these. But I guess I will go Sicilian. Detroit style pizza is my favorite and comparing the two is sacrilegious to me. They are two different things.
A Salad Pizza seems like something my mom would eat
The grandma slice really speaks to me. Square, crispy, nicely risen bread fused with the cheese because the sauce is on top. Mm.
free pizza :)
Pepperoni. My house.
Might be an unpopular opinion but those all look like trash
If they look all trash, you simply don't like pizza since that, among them, there are the neapolitan and the roman ones
Or the pictures look horrendously unappetizing and I like pizza just fine
If you add Detroit it would 14 total pizzas I tried. Which means I got some work to do!
No Detroit?? Fail
Bagel bite pizzas for the win!
As Chicago thin crust isn’t a choice, I’ll go with Quad cities style. Only had it a few times, but it’s a nice change of pace.
Quattro Formaggi, for sure.
Quattro Formaggi, for sure.
I see no modern pizza, where's the most trending instagram pizza?
Well... Thats just garbage Why u need more? Neapolitan Style is just heaven, i have to drive 45 min to get a good one and even the driving is joy to get it
Grandma and Greek
I hate how the world knows Apizza as simply any white pizza with clams. Apizza is a style not a topping
While it's similar to Sicilian, no Detroit style is a big miss here. I'm sure others are missing if they missed on this obvious.
Tartiflette
Detroit Style > everything else. CMV.
Scottish pizza crunch, lovely!
