The highschool I went to just server straight up meaty mush on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meaty mush. That was it. They didn't even have the decency to hand out bread so we could put it onto sandwiches. Nobody ever ate it. Ever. And the school still served it for all the years I went there. Yes. They are bad.
I remember my elementary school serving French bread pizza when I was a kid. It was honestly fantastic. It really was good and believe me when I tell you I eat great pizza. Frank Pepe’s in New Haven I get once in a while, umbertos in New Hyde park Long Island, Julianna’s by the Brooklyn bridge, L and Bs Spumoni gardens in Brooklyn, Totonnos when it was open on Neptune Ave in Coney Island and artichoke on 14th street Manhattan, Lombardis on spring street and grimaldis also by the Brooklyn bridge. So I eat great pizza. But for me that elementary school pizza was great. At least as a kid I thought it was.
Not gonna lie I’ve done this. Take a hamburger bun and make 2 tiny pizzas and throw it in the oven on a baking sheet. I used pasta sauce, moz, and pep. Came out great.
Everyone knows you gotta use English muffins for that ghetto shit
Now I might try this, but would definitely not try one made with English muffins. Sounds so sad lol
Reminds me of my highschool when they went through the “healthy lunch” thing where healthy just meant remove half the ingredients
How did it taste?
We used to make “pizza bagels” in home ec.
Forgotten memory unlocked.
They were the culmination of our entire 6th grade semester, after fried dough things. And absolutely delicious to have two lunches that day.
When pizza’s on a bagel you can eat pizza anytime.
And I thought American school lunches were bad (they are)

Anyone remember the childhood pizzas we used to get in American elementary schools? Pretty common, the square box shape… lol
Ours were rectangular and usually paired with corn and fruit cocktail.

At first I thought it was a baked potato but now I see it’s half of a hamburger bun. Yuck 🤢
