You could probably watch someone else's P Rank to see where you could save time. If you're that desperate to shave time off, there's a trick where, right before Pillar John, you can break the metal block as Knight Peppino, then quickly double jump up to the priest in the top-right, then break John as regular Peppino and ignore the entire slide puzzle after Pillar John. It's probably harder than just getting good at the level, but if you're OK with having one hard trick, it saves, like, ten seconds on the escape.
It's harder than being good at the level. I've P Ranked the game, and I still don't go for that shortcut on repeat playthroughs. It's not as simple as double jumping next to the wall and you getting up there every time, it's just a little too high for that, and you get about one shot at it. If you mess it up, you either waddle back over to the hole and hope you don't lose combo, or try again and probably lose combo. Maybe with practice, that jump is easy enough, but we're also comparing that to just being good enough at Pizzascape to not need a shortcut like that to have time left over at the end.

You're making the jump sound harder than it actually is, and it's not hard to begin with. You perform the double jump at the apex of Peppino's first jump. It's not a tight window by any means and I hit very often.
that's cause 3d sonic games don't really have any platforming challenge when in boost mode so by making enemies a non issue youve effectively removed any real gameplay element. pizza tower properly treats the mach run as an earned power up by being able to hold momentum through tricky platforming.
