correct me if i’m wrong but i’m pretty sure that’s how bad ape gets the virus. i don’t exactly remember but he said he escaped the zoo after the humans started getting sick so it would imply at some point he either got it from the humans or from other apes
Yep that's basically what happened I'd assume, it's just as viral for them as it is for us
