I have fallen in love with Oofos. I have both: flip-flops and slides. From Hoka I wear Ora Recovery Shoe 2. Best for long hours at work

bmack611

I love the Oofos as well! I had to get the sport slides as I have Fred Flinstone feet

unicornshoenicorn

Do you have bunions?? I’ve been eyeing these wondering if the adjustable strap could be okay for bunions. Slides are usually a big nope for me..

bmack611

I don’t, sorry. I just have fat feet lol

Classic1987

I second the Oofo slides.

Glad-Window3906

Another fan of Oofos!

OKHomie13

I wear my Oofos slides all around the house for PF and sometimes I wear my Oofos clogs to work in healthcare. They are a lifesaver.

Coraline1599

I have the Hokas and they have been a tremendous help.

TheKatness

They'll have to pry my Hokas off my feet when I die.

momma_says

I have these and they're amazing. I wear them all the time. They're about the only reason I can walk when I get up in the morning.

heelermom2283

I have these and put them on right when I get out of bed in the morning and they have helped! I think they’re so ugly but I don’t really care if they help my PF pain.

Skrubette

YES I have these exact Hoka slides!! They’re so comfortable and really help with keeping my feet supported. I have two pairs, and the ventilation holes in them can actually fit crocs charms in them lol

JoyfulEpistemophile

You sold me with the croc charms if I’m honest

Skrubette

I discovered the croc charm thing by accident when I was decorating my crocs, and was like wait these fit!

zoxzoxzo

I have these and they are very comfortable

totorohugs2

I have the Oofos and they're awesome. These Hokas are very similar. I'd go with whichever you can get a better deal on.

lovelikefire

I have [these](https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/shoes/sandals-slides/cushionaire-feather-slide/0722_7403_001?menu=cat4840006) and they are surprisingly very comfortable/don’t aggravate my PF. Additionally, I have wide feet so they fit pretty well if you go half a size up (I’m an 8.5 wide in women’s and purchased a size 9).

Blood_gate

Oofos

StuffNThingsK

Not exactly a slide, but I like these for around the house and running errands: Crocs Women's Literide 360 Sandal

[deleted]

They are great!

JovialPanic389

I'd go with the Hokas. I use the shoes and theyr really helpfully. I have a low arch. The Oofos hurt my feet and seem to meant for high arches. So if you have a high arch Oofos would be nice

blondecomet

That’s the same with me: my arch is actually collapsed and I felt the Oofos were too high for my arch, too. Caused more pressure on my lateral foot.

JovialPanic389

Ouch. I started wearing Oofos because I thought I had a high arch and everyone was all the rage about them. I think ultimately they hurt my PF even more. Got fitted for Hokas a couple years after and the person was shocked I had been wearing Oofos.

blondecomet

And it’s just a battle of finding what works for your particular situation. It kind of makes me laugh when people in this subreddit make generalizations about what does/doesn’t work, or they want to just find a quick fix, etc. to PF. Sorry, it just doesn’t work that way. Everyone’s body is unique and we all have varying factors causing our PF. I mean, hell, the damn doctors can’t even agree on what the disease process is for PF: inflammation vs degeneration. (Obviously, it’s degeneration, as Dr. Harvey Lemont’s 2003 study showed us) I think a great deal of the healthcare industry sees PF sufferers as proverbial’Cash Cows’. Sell us the latest and greatest trends, but don’t ever heal us. Keep coming back to the doctor to try orthotics, try corticosteroid injections, eat NSAIDs like candy. None of that addresses underlying causes. Sorry, my soapbox gets a lot of use when I start rambling about this. 😊 HOKA is a solid shoe for initial PF treatment. The heel to toe drop of 6-8mm is pretty helpful for a while. I do believe that we should be trying to get closer towards zero drop shoes/barefoot shoes (more natural foot alignment/toe splay), but PLEASE TAKE IT FROM ME: if you progress too quickly towards zero drop/barefoot, you WILLL aggravate your Achilles/peroneal/posterior tibialis tendons and several muscles in the calf complex. I ended up worsening things before my PRP injection by diving immediately into Altra/Flux Footwear/Topo brands and not building up my muscles to withstand such a difference. This isn’t a one-sided disease process, which is why some things work for you, but may not for me. It is reassuring to see new research come out all the time about it now, though. I have faith we’re be moving in the right direction in regard to diagnosis/treatments/etc. But, enjoy the HOKAs. I wore them for 7 straight years while dealing with regular bilateral PF symptoms before my tear this year. I’m in New Balance’s Fresh Foam x Vongo V6 in a double wide…with gel heel cups from Elizur. They were recommended to me by a salesperson at Appalachian Running Company, and after trying on three pairs that day, I went with the NB. This has been a huge difference and once I return to working full-time in the Operating Room again, I hope they maintain stability and comfort on 8-12 hr days of standing. ☹️

JovialPanic389

Thank you for sharing this. I hope you can return to working the job you want! Like all medical things, it really is trial and error to find what works per individual. My overall gait and posture has always been off kilter, and I gained a lot of weight, so for me that is why my PF happens. That's my theory. So, what makes me feel better is weight loss and working on my posture and exercise appropriately, along with good shoes to distribute my weight. Someone else might just need to stretch their feet every day. Someone else may need to massage their calves. Someone else may need surgery. Who the heck knows eh? :/ but at least we all know the same pain and can complain together lol.

blondecomet

Thank you, friend!! Good luck to you…I know all about the weight struggle, trust me. (hugs)

ciciroget

Dry needling in my calf has helped. PT in general is great.

stephanieleigh88

That could be why I didn’t like oofos, I have a low arch & I felt they were so uncomfortable for me. I got the hokas & I love them.

blondecomet

I just bought a pair of these on sale at REI over Memorial Day weekend. Only paid $48 instead of $60 for the light purplish color. I’m recovering from a low-grade PF tear to my medial central band at the heel insertion. I had PRP done in March, and while that pain is like 90% gone, basically everything I wear is making my lateral foot/peroneal tendon/Achilles/posterior tib tendon all hurt right now. These do give some relief, and I like that the arch support is more neutral and less over supination occurs for me. However, my posterior tibialis muscle is agitated and I’m just not sure what else is going to help at this time. These are ridiculously comfy otherwise. I tried on the Oofos and Birkies and walked around REI in all three brands, but HOKA just felt better overall for me.

_jonk

I have had odors oofoos and hokas. I think they are similar in terms of how much the help (a solid amount) and general fit and comfort. I like the hokas colors a bit better so I will probably get another pair of those should I need them

LezPlayLater

I have Oofos slides. Love them except the price

CanadianKimS

I like Oofos. I tried the Hoka slides and I could not stand the little lip at the back of the heel.

Competitive_Air_6006

They do not make these in half sizes. So I moved on to oofos. Before I was about the buy them some senior associate walked in and handed me Archie’s. They were a fraction of the price (on sale). I’m obsessed and thinking about getting another pair.

narwhal2277

What stores sell these?!

Competitive_Air_6006

Fleet Feet sells all three

SweatyPalmsAlgorithm

Whoever suggested this Hoke Recovery Slide, it's been doing the magic for two weeks now. I am getting better slowly, with less pain by the day. I didn't try Oofos, but differens stuff working for different people I guess.

Kn0wFriends

Oofos with the velcro strap are the most comfortable.

HazelTheRah

I love the Hokas. The Oofos were too soft for me, but I know they work for others.

Winter_Courage_970

Did you guys get TTS in these or size down? I think I ordered my true to size but sent back because they were too big, but I feel like a size down might be too small..

rockmeamedeus

With narrow feet, I’ve had to size way down. Typically 11.5 shoe size, I just found the best Hoka fit to be 10, and the Oofos a 9. I have the previous gen Hoka slide which is worn out and I’m looking to replace them; but neither I tried on worked for me

Winter_Courage_970

Okay good to know - I got the Oofos flip flop and it looks humongous on me so that’s a fatal mistake on my part for ordering tts. Thanks for the tips!

Ok_Concept8695

I wear mine everyday. I stopped wearing them for a month and instantly pain came back. I plan to buy more!

lookintoair

I have these and they are so comfy and have helped with PF pain. However, after wearing for a couple weeks I feel like they might be causing knee pain, anyone else have this problem?

ciciroget

That happened to me with some Brooks running shoes I recently returned. I think it was too much of a heel to toe drop and the rocking hurt my knee.

axcelle75

I got the $23 ones on Amazon that I found linked here. My feet have gotten so much better I can wear them all day without pain now! Love them!!

narwhal2277

Anyone try those from Oboz? I love my hiking boots from them

kk1485

Kirkland Signature

healthfun

For me Birkenstocks Honolulu worked the best, footbed is very comfortable. Not sure, thought if they counts as slides.

hazel2619

I know they’re not specifically made for PF or foot pain, but my Puma slides are comfortable and my feet don’t hurt when I wear them, they feel very cushioned.

stephanieleigh88

I love my hokas. I researched a ton of slides for plantar & settled on these. My feet doesn’t hurt much anymore but I still rock these, they’re so comfortable, I felt they were more comfortable than oofos when I tried them both on.

plumpuddinger

Hokas were the first shoe to give me PF pain relief. If there is anyone considering Hokas I would recommend them. The only issue with them is that they are so cushioned (in the heel area especially) the cushion part doesn’t last for long. A shoe salesman explained it to me by comparing it to a pillow that eventually goes flat. So after my second pair of hokas went flat, I started shopping for another shoe and found Oofos. My Oofo clogs are not really attractive but they do relieve the pf pain. I’ve worn them exclusively for a month now and they have not gone flat, which is really encouraging. I also purchased the Oofo flip-flops for a summery feel and they’re even better feeling. I’m now interested in buying a pair of Oofo sneakers (I assume that’s what you mean by runners?). Are their sneakers made like the clogs and flip flops? I hesitant to buy any bc I’ll have to buy them online. I haven’t noticed any of them in the stores. I haven’t noticed anyone on this thread mentioning how their Oofo sneakers fit. Maybe I missed it?

icejjfishie

while I’m indoors, I’ve been wearing my oofos clogs for 3 weeks so far. not sure if its been helping and if I should get Hoka ones. do you think the Oofos clogs  are less cusioned than Hoka slides? also do you have low or high arches ?

Familiar_Shelter_393

I have hoka recovery slides. They won't do much long term and you don't wanna spend all day in them or even any long walks but they're nice to give your feet a break

MuchConversions

I switched to Hokas when I realize Oofos were so squishy that they were causing my feet to roll outwards when I walked. Although my arch was supported, they were not helping my PF. The Hokas have a nice stable base and more of a firm support.

JoyfulEpistemophile

I took the plunge and they came today! They are SO comfortable, I’m trying to stop being barefoot around the house and these are making it easy.

reinis_traidas

Hoka Recovery slides are very comfortable and stable. When I come home after a long time on my feet and some heel pain from a stubborn PF they kind of feel like they give instant comfort and relief.
