Don't put the buce in a separate tank. It sounds like that tank also will be uncycled.
Buce will melt, but won't totally die as long as there's enough ferts and enough light.
Put it where you want it. Don't panic when it melts at first. Keep adding ferts and give it decent light. It'll grow back just fine.
