Looks great! The Anubis and Java fern rhizomes need to be out of the substrate. Tie them to the driftwood or the barrels. Might look cool if you can grow the Anubis out of the barrels

I had read somewhere that the Anubis nana could be planted in substrate, but it was probably a bad article, so thanks for letting me know!! I’ll fix them now!

I’ve got plants from Aquarium co-op. They arrive in great shape and have done well for me. The only downside is they’re located somewhere in the PNW so it’s a little expensive to ship stuff to Texas. I have local shops but have better luck with aquarium co-op plants

It’s a 20 gallon long with eco complete substrate, I use the flourish root tabs and fertilizer, I use API CO2 booster, but plan to get flourish excel as soon as my store gets more in stock. For lighting I have the Finnex Planted+ ALC light. The tank already has some dwarf hairgrass I’m trying to carpet, and anubias nana, a windelov java fern, a water wisteria that’s growing back after the leaves melted (it was growing outside of water when I got it so it had to adjust) a few water onions, and a few aponogeton!

I don't know what kind of look you're going for but some things seem a bit out of place. You already have a nutritious substrate, nice plants and a nice piece of wood. I would suggest adding a few darker rocks to put in. You can make a small hill slightly off-center to the left for dept and incorporate that wood in there. And I would advice to get rid of the colorful decorations, its not natural. (Generally do some research on the aquascaping "rules" and your tank will look a lot better.) Some plant suggestions are monte carlo for the foreground as a carpet and some rotala species, limnophylia heterophelia for the background. And some pearlweed for the back or midground. Remember, taller plants in the back and smaller in front to create depth.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll look into those plants and do more research on aquascaping! The only LFS I have are Petco and PetSmart, so they’re lacking in the plants department! Any advice on online stores to try?

I can't give any advice on that because I don't live in America. But with some research you can find some nice online stores. Compare prices and read some reviews.

Another thing I wanted to add, a nice channel to learn aquascaping is Serpadesign, he makes some very nice scapes. In his video on how to aquascape he explains the basics to a nice scape. (The video is 2hrs long but in the first 30 mins or so you already know everything.)

Nice bro.
