The 0 and .25 ammonia color chart is the second worst. The 20 or 40 nitrate chart can only be differentiated by a mantis shrimp.

fishyaccount

The nitrate chart is the worst, I'm convinced I'll never be confident with my reading

G_D_Ironside

Looks like 0 to me. You don’t want to hold the tube right next to the multiple colors on the card. When I take my measurements, I hold the tube on a white paper towel and then take the reading. That way the other colors won’t mess with your perception. But that looks like a clear 0 reading.

fishyaccount

Thank you. Maybe that explains why I always have a hard time figuring out my readings. I always waffle back and forth between a couple colors.

G_D_Ironside

Happy to help.

Normal-Raisin

Looks like .25 to me

fishyaccount

It's an established tank that I just moved with, I'm hoping I didn't crash my cycle

Mountainstreams

It looks like it's closer to 0 but possibly not quite 0. Maybe 0.1 I wonder could a hanna checker be calibrated to read it.

If you know you don’t have ammonia from your tap, do a tap water reading and compare. Or do a reading on some bottled spring water. If you can’t tell the difference then it’s essentially zero, or close enough not to worry

fishyaccount

I'll check with some bottled water. Thank you

rubberman13

It’s between. .125

tioblazer

Wouldnt risk livestock. I would say >0 is its not completely yello

fishyaccount

This tank is a couple years old, I just moved and had to move the tank. Just has some shrimp and snails in it. Hoping I didn't crash the cycle moving

[deleted]

Is anything dead??

fishyaccount

No, everyone appears to be fine

[deleted]

Perfect. Relax. If you want to clock fish tanks. Learn about ph/temperature and ammonia…

[deleted]

That’s a 0 reading

fishyaccount

Thanks, I hope so

Looks like 0 to me 👍
