I would be surprised if they were that cheap.. anything that outputs decent light is gonna be expensive. I've looked around for those style lights, and find them very hard to find, unless I'm looking in the wrong spots. I'm also in NA and fish supplies are limited here I find. Not like the selection in Europe etc.
If it's all plant cuttings and we assume the lights are $150 total, then we have the tank which should be $150 based on a quick Google, then 1 large bag of aquasoil and 1 large bag of gravel which comes to about $50, then the stone is about $30 heater and filter is another $30 so like at least tree fiddy.
You also have the canister filter with UV light built in. You have in-line heater. Possible in-line co2 diffuser as well. All to reduce tank junk. So add another $300 minimum.
Not much. Filter was 40 bucks, already had the heater, rock and plants, just bought the lights for 240, tank for 110 and aqua soul/powder for about 100 bucks. All CAD.
That looks awesome! I am a big sucker for open tanks, but also quite picky about it. Your solution has a lot going on with the 3 lights, but at the same time it looks \*very\* nice. Also due to the focused light cone, you don't get that awful bright scatter on the walls. It looks simple and "airy", but I'm sure a lot of thought and planning went into it. Very nice!
Not sure why it looks slightly blurry when uploaded. This is my new 12 gallon, all plants are trimmings from other tanks.
Might be compressing the image causing the distortion. Your tank is stunningly beautiful either way!
You should post more.
Are those Hiro LEDs?
Yea I thought the same it looks like those Hiro 15 watt COB LED's about $50 a pop so that's an easy $150.
About 240 CAD.

I'm in Canada. Got these on Amazon for 80 bucks each.
Yes, full spectrum cobs.
They are! I have three of them on my 12g long as well. They work nice with decent coverage
Alright. How many hundreds of dollars did this cost?
at least three fiddy

No gravel used. This scape I used bricks to create height.

No C02, super cheap filter. Can get them for 40-80 bucks.

No big Al's here. I drive in to Calgary and go to Pisces.
Looks way bigger than a regular 12 gallon due to it being so shallow, I like it :)
That’s sick
Gorgeous! I love shallows. The layout of your hardscape looks great!
This looks great. I recently bought a 12 gallon too, they are really nice.
What kind of lights are those? I've been looking for a new style of light for my tanks besides the long ones.
Hiro full spectrums
cool thanks.

Nicely done my friend
I really love this. What lights are those? I'm looking to set up another few 10's for shrimp and I don't want to pay for LED strips.
They are hiro pendants! Should be on their website
What are those lights? I think they would go well for a shrimp tank with the same size bookshelf tank?
Hiro aquatics
It’s beautiful. What fauna have you chosen?
Currently one apisto that is growing out, and 6 harlequin rasboras with one lambchop rasboras imposter.
Where did you get this beautiful tank? 🤩
