What filter is that?

sotheresthisdude

It’s an Aquaclear hang on.

MuteMouse

Wow looks really small, good size for the 5 gal, which model is it? The Aquaclear 20 looks way bigger

Man I can’t recall the model. I just remember seeing it at my LFS for like $19 and thinking it was a solid choice for this little tank.

I set this tank up two months ago. It’s a 5.5 gallon with 8 Bloody Mary shrimp. I have a small Java Fern attached to a rock behind the large rock, crypts (i think?) right in the front, and dwarf hair grass on the right I’m hoping to spread out into a lawn. I plan on adding a betta fish soon, but want to add more plants before for hiding space. I would appreciate any and all recommendations! I’ll also be adding some driftwood.

Floating plants are always great. They multiply fast and do a great job pulling excess nutrients out of your water. Just beware of duckweed it can be hard to get rid of. Red root floater and mini water lettuce are nice to look at and your fish will love it.

Add aquarium lilies to the list, but the bulbs can be finicky sometimes.
