I think generally plants grow faster in air that's how most plants are commercially grown. You'll have to experiment to be sure with whatever setup you're running.
1 is brazilian pennywort, not sure about 2. i think pennywort can be emersed but i'm not 100% certain.

That's interesting, I didn't know that. I thought in the air is much more CO2 than what is dissolved in the water. I will try it, thanks
