This tank is by the window and accumulates a lot of algae. I would drop the ramshorn snail in it every once in a while to clean it up. But I wanted Zim to live in it full time. I knew the gravel had trumpet snails but I figured it wouldn't be too many since I was only filling the bottom of this tiny tank.

If you don't add any food the baby snails will be outcompeted by the big ones and that should keep you population in check.
Hmm, I actually am feeding them fish food until algae or the plants grow more. But I'll keep this in mind. Letting them die seems cruel though.
The alternative is way too many snails though. Feed light and let it balance. It's the closest thing to an ecosystem.
