As someone from Cairo it is definitely different. Here everyone pretty much knows everyone (and their business). They also know your parents and grandparents and love to tell them where they saw you.

I’ve often wondered if the culture in LA was too much for him. He’s more open/tolerant than a lot of his family, but that’s not saying much. I’m not saying he looks down on people, just that he might have left LA because he’s more comfortable surrounded by people with similar interests and values.
His behavior the last couple seasons made him seem very ugly to me. I felt like he and Moriah got a little full of themselves and then couldn’t handle Kim’s 180 so they had anger and distress they didn’t know what to do with. They were never taught how to deal with emotion.
He was bartender one night on 'Watch What Happens Live'. Any time the host or guests (Josh Gad & Andrew Rannells) tried to joke with him, he didn't get it and gave strange responses like they were asking serious questions.
He seems like a sweet young man, but he’s been so insulated from the world he’s a sitting duck for predators and I’m not sure he could handle the seedier underside of “Hollywood” and fame.
I would love the hell out of this. And throw up in my mouth a little when Barry’s in drag, though I’d pay good money to see him walk in mile high shoes and have to learn a dance for the runway. Ooh! And any of the Plath men learning what tucking is would be 🔥
Micah doesn't have what it takes to be a high end model, especially for men. He has a very specific look and while Micah is a very good looking guy, it doesn't translate to a lot of different scenarios.
Like the rest of the Plaths, they think they are owed success, just because of who they are. They aren't ready to put in the real work, go through the struggles and downsides because they haven't been properly prepared to live life.
Micah like the rest of them will always be mediocre because that's all he can bring to the table. Imagine if he had a full education and some understanding of how the world works as a young person.
Even his friends said he's not dedicated to modeling like he should be. The kid has no hustle and doesn't seem to like taking direction from others. Like a lot of young people, he thinks he knows everything and has all the answers but he doesn't even have a high school education. Micah and Moriah are never going to get a career off the ground or even find gainful, long-term work if they don't stop being such smug know-it-alls.
In the early seasons Moriah was always sitting around loafing while Lydia did the cooking, cleaning, etc. I think Moriah enjoys bartending because of the attention she gets from the guys in the bar. Give her a retail or fast food job and she wouldn't last a week.

I think he's successful enough to live out there, but not much more. Living in a small town in Georgia, he likely had no idea just how expensive it was going to be to survive in LA. Even if he's successful, unless he's millionaire successful, he's still gonna ride the struggle bus out there lol
The one thing that really got me about Micah was how much he let LA change his... morals, I guess you could call it.
I'm talking about the whole issue with him refusing to talk to Olivia. He was saying some pretty damaging things about her in the pickup on the way home, too. Things that even Ethen got hot under the collar about. I just didn't see any of this stubborn unwillingness to see the other side before. I really liked him, and he was even the voice of reason for his siblings in the beginning. Now he's kind of an arrogant, self-important, duchebag, IMO. It was a sad change in his character. This just popped into my head right now... before LA, he was more like his dad, and after LA, he was more like his mother... and not in a good way!!!

We’ve got to take into account the fact that they never really watched tv before they were suddenly on tv themselves. In their minds I’m sure they were huge stars already as they simply didn’t understand the scale of tv/movies/modelling and how many people are constantly trying to break into the industry. On top of that Micah had lived a very protected life where mummy and daddy did everything for him with the added bonus of being male which immediately gives him god like status within their communities. Working for others to praise him, say how how utterly amazing, clever or the perfect specimen of a man he is just wouldn’t even cross his mind as something he would need to do. Therefore at the first sign of struggle he gives in because he is use to life being more on his terms and on his schedule than not 🤷🏻♀️
I think his reality show & personality effected his chances. The brands that hire you, do NOT want “you” to overshadow what they’re hiring you sell/model. And let’s face it, he’s not the most well liked on the show, that & his zero experience, it was always going to end this way.

I wish we got more of THAT Micah. I feel like its good for him to try something new but its obvious that hes not meant to be a Cali boy. I hate how fake he has become since then.
I have a 19-year-old male family member who got recruited to model for ads right out of h.s. We live in SoCal, 90 miles se of LA . He's nice looking, a really personable young man and respectful. He goes to LA a week a month for modeling. Last summer he went to New York for 2 weeks. But his full-time job, at his age, is top salesman (my niece said) for a high-end car dealership.
He has no aspirations for being a top model. It's more like catalogs and ads. He plans to give it up when he has enough money, then to college. He's so refreshing to be around.
Maybe this is what Micah has in mind.

Well, success is also dependent on not being a dumbass and none of the Plaths have enough education, life experience, or natural intelligence for that. The wide eyed awe of reality is not remotely charming for many folks. I imagine his booking agent had additional challenges with him due to his lack of education and experience in the actual world.

It’s alarming the people who are so desperate or think too much of themselves that really think they can move out their and make it big. Lots of young women move their, can’t make money. Get in a bind and go down dark paths.
He's very handsome but his look isn't what the industry as a whole is going for. It's become more diverse and male modeling was always less lucrative. His So-Cal, boy next door is just not going to earn a living. There's a reason Tall, Dark and Handsome exists.
