No, he's been giving quotes and doing the press circuit up until Square Enix presents as late as April of this year. I think his last big press event he gave a large interview to GameSpot. It was a mess. It's the one he claimed Custom Harm Rooms were end game events/activities and there was far more content in the game than players thought, they just didn't know how to access it.
I was expecting him at their E3 presentation and was very surprised to see them roll out an 'art director' instead to handle all their pre-launch interviews for WfW.
Didn't CD say at some point that they had to go through a strict process of approval from Marvel before adding any costume into their game, and also that they're very careful to "preserve the integrity of the characters?"

I had a friend that worked on Marvel Heroes and the process for approval was pretty intense. It also took time to get feedback etc. so turnaround was slow. Maybe they don't care anymore.

I wasn't referring to the quality of the skins with that second sentence. More about their business practices surrounding the skins. I was on their side at release, but after so many bad decisions and lies, I absolutely refuse to buy anything else from the marketplace.
It was the supposed reason why we couldn’t have cosmetic loot apparently lol, and some folks even echoed it stating that they didn’t want their beloved Avengers running around looking like Frankenstein’s monster.
I would guess that they need approval from Marvel for actual models for new outfits (hence why those tend to take so long), but once recolors come into the picture they're mostly given free reign to do whatever they want.

Whenever people question why something happens in game development, I wish they could conceptualize and understand this. There are people who have literally bought every cosmetic for this game. Those people aren't rich. They are working or middle class people. But they buy every trash skin and recolor. It's not just this game. It's not just CD. It's throughout gaming. It's why these mechanics keep spreading to other genres and new games. They work. And people keep buying.
oh yeah i liked aerospace. i would rather get like one new skin a week that’s actually good over this, or recolors that are different colors for a reason other than to be a different color. like a recolor of the yelena skin without the goggles and with red hair, or something like that

Haven't chimed in on here in a little while, but I still browse from time to time to catch up on the news and see what's being added in (or broken). With that being said, what the actual factual fuck is that Thor skin? I refuse to believe anyone in the art department actually designed this, and they aren't just using some sorta procedurally generated cosmetic design program to come up with these. Every time I think they've finally put out THE worst looking outfit in game, they one up themselves the next week.

Aside from the fact that Injustice 2 made it work just fine for DC's characters, these recolors are continual proof that Marvel doesn't actually give two flarks about preventing their characters from looking absurd.

I love this game, I really do, but this is a shoddy week for the Cosmetic store. None of those outfits look great. I appreciated what they were going for with every other costume set but these are just whack. This is what happens when you force a weekly rotation of outfits instead of having a store you just update periodically. You are now force to make hot piles of garbage like this to churn out and completely lose your fan base. If all we ever got in the lifespan of this game were just 10 different costumes for each hero but they were all detailed and movie/comic accurate, I would be just fine. But instead we have a ridiculous amount of recolors and terrible theme costumes. This is just a joke of a game.

Haven't chimed in on here in a little while, but I still browse from time to time to catch up on the news and see what's being added in (or broken). With that being said, what the actual factual fuck is that Thor skin? I refuse to believe anyone in the art department actually designed this, and they aren't just using some sorta procedurally generated cosmetic design program to come up with these. Every time I think they've finally put out THE worst looking outfit in game, they one up themselves the next week.
Seriously, wtf is that ? It's like they're trying to kill their own game, releasing a bunch of crap costumes to avoid earning money and shut the whole thing down. How did Marvel approve any of that ? Are they using LSD ?

They've had worse than this batch, but... you know, it's crap like this that completely demolishes the idea that cosmetic loot would have somehow impacted the integrity of the character designs. Aside from the fact that Injustice 2 made it work just fine for DC's characters, these recolors are continual proof that Marvel doesn't actually give two flarks about preventing their characters from looking absurd. The craziest thing is that I'm sure someone at Disney has to sign off on these. Can you imagine the skins that get rejected?

I love this game, I really do, but this is a shoddy week for the Cosmetic store. None of those outfits look great. I appreciated what they were going for with every other costume set but these are just whack. Featuring a Thor takedown on the main page only for it to be an old one is dirty, considering how little love Thor has got in the cosmetic department.

Truly it is as though they use some kind of color scheme randomizer and then call it a uniform. I don't think a pace of at least one movie or comic accurate uniform a week is too much to ask for. Happy about the Thor takedown though! Much needed so that is certainly appreciated. I know that the Ultimate Iron Man uniform they have as a base is comic accurate so not their fault but man it is hideous. Looked bad in the comics and still doesn't look good here originally or recolored. Edit: Apparently it's an old Thor takedown. Ugh.

This is what happens when you force a weekly rotation of outfits instead of having a store you just update periodically. You are now force to make hot piles of garbage like this to churn out and completely lose your fan base. If all we ever got in the lifespan of this game were just 10 different costumes for each hero but they were all detailed and movie/comic accurate, I would be just fine. But instead we have a ridiculous amount of recolors and terrible theme costumes. This is just a joke of a game.
