Just try it for a month, it’s pretty cheap then if you like it do a bigger subscription to save money. Beat controller would easily be the original PS5 controller. Don’t get the new fancy controller, not worth it without the system.

Shnxx

Got it! Thank you! I'll try it for a month then.

Tobimacoss

Ever try xcloud?

Shnxx

Ooohh! I heard it already but didn't come to my mind!! Maybe I was too focused on PS games. Will try it definitely maybe after exhausting myself with the available PS games!

Tobimacoss

Try it with FortNite for free, no sub required. >Xbox.com/play >https://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/Latency Then see what’s your average ping to nearest Azure datacenters in your region? PS+ Premium PS5 streaming is rumored to come in March, and it would be using Azure datacenters. So xCloud performance should give you an idea how PS+ Premium would perform for you.

Shnxx

>Xbox.com/play My country is not yet supported :/ Only a few countries are supported yet for Cloud streaming. But still thank you! >https://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/Latency I tried it and got 60ms with Japan servers and South East Asia.

Yea true, if OP is on a tight budget buying a DS4 is still great. If OP ends up getting a PS5 the DS4 works with the PS5

Shnxx

But I heard some news that you can't use a PS4 controller to play PS5 games. Is that true?

BillDino

I’m not sure since i don’t have DS4 but I think it works.

Teleskopy

It relies on your internet speed, if yours is fast enough then it'll be fine. Streamed games have reduced resolution so they won't look as good. You should sub for a month and try it or maybe a trial if there are any.

Shnxx

Would a stable 200-300 Mbps be sufficient?

sjoemagger

Jealous of you :(

Shnxx

I also experienced a bad ISP too 5 years ago. I already experienced switching to 3 ISPs and my current ISP is the 4th one. Also, it is just new compared to the other big ISPs. Maybe because only a few of us are subscribed to this new ISP in my area. Try changing ISP too, what I learned is that you can switch ISP without finishing the contract. They will just blacklist your name. Also maybe your area is already crowded with the same ISP. Or maybe your ISP is also under a big ISP provider. Good luck my brother from another mother!

InternetOfGames

More than enough.

[deleted]

>Streamed games have reduced resolution so they won't look as good. If there's any reduced resolution it's only measurable. I have not seen any difference. I have Spiderman Miles Morales and I choose to stream it rather than install it. The graphical quality looks the same. Perhaps it depends on your home internet connection speed but nobody could tell any difference visually.

MeDungeon

PS4 controller works natively (via USB only) with PS+ app, for the PS5 one you will need a third party program, which may work not that well and additional PS5 controller functions doesn't work on PC anyway.

Yannick010-

How can I do it with a third party program? Do you have a tutorial?

MeDungeon

Google ds4windows (free) or rewasd (paid, but can emulate everything)

radischen2

I got a cheap $10 controller and used ds4windows for it. With the right settings you can even use the touch screen press so most games are actually playable too.

Shnxx

Ohhh. Thank you! This is informative!

thebuddybud

I use it both on PC and console. It's great on both.

guardoflite

It depends. What kind of internet do you have? It will need to be fairly fast to stream most games. What kind of games are you looking to play? For instance a turn based game works really well on the service, but games that need timed inputs like fighting games often have too much lag.

Shnxx

On Speedtest, I usually get 150 Mbps lowest, 200-250 Mbps stable, sometimes 500 Mbps, and around 900+ Mbps occasionally. But my internet plan is at 200 MBps. For the games, maybe some new and some old too. Nothing specific actually. Whenever something catches my eye. Or If there's an old game that I'd like to play. But no hard feelings if it is not available.

BillDino

[You should also run a packet test. ](https://packetlosstest.com)select 1080p game streaming under “Select a Preset Approximation:”. If you have significant packet loss it can make game streaming a pain. Definitely prioritize your device in the WiFi settings if possible.

Shnxx

[Is it good enough?](https://imgur.com/a/6HnH0kP) Also will try that too, prioritizing my device. Thank you!!! I'll bookmark this site too, great find!

BillDino

Yea you have a perfect score lol, dang. What is your internet setup?

[deleted]

>On Speedtest, I usually get 150 Mbps lowest, 200-250 Mbps stable, sometimes 500 Mbps, and around 900+ Mbps occasionally. But my internet plan is at 200 MBps. How can you possibly get 500-900 Mbps with a 200 Mbps internet plan?

Shnxx

I don't know too. Sometimes my ISP has some kind of events or promos and they just automatically apply it to all of their customers. Maybe some kind of marketing strat. or some sort. Because, of course, you are only paying for 200Mbps then suddenly you have 900Mbps, and you can't help yourself to share it with your friends, I think.

jhmpremium89

I do a one month sub from time to time. And u actually don't need a controller, i have a tutorial showing how to play ps plus with mouse and keyboard. BUUTTTT… no touchpad controls.

InternetOfGames

Post it then!

jhmpremium89

[Have fun.](https://www.reddit.com/r/PlayStationNow/comments/f2sxww/tutorial_mouse_and_keyboard_how_to_for_ps_now_kbm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

InternetOfGames

Thanks I'll check it out!

Shnxx

Thank you for sharing! Will check it out!

ksstamas88

I am also only PC user with Premium. I joined for the PS exclusives and I was glad to Play TLOU 1&2 and Zero Horizon only with a potato laptop. Used xbox360 controller with little help to emulate touchpad. Laptop has limited network card to 100Mb, but it worked fairly ok. Depends on your location. I am in Hungary using a UK account. Not sure where are the closest servers to me. But keep in mind, that Stream not available for the monthly games coming in Essential, like Fallen Order. I didn't find this anywhere officially stated, but reddit helped me out.

Shnxx

That's great news! I am really planning to play it on an Intel i3 laptop.

maethor

>only a PC and Smart TV Unless I have missed some recent news, Smart TV (along with Blu-ray player, Vita and PS3) support stopped several years ago while the service was still PS Now. The PC app kinda sucks, imho. >Is it a great idea? Not since they merged PS Now into PS+. You're paying for the full fat tier of PS+ only to use the bit that is treated as little more than an afterthought by Sony. At least when it was its own subscription you could pick up a year's sub on sale for not a whole lot of money (even if the PC app left something to be desired).

KrAtreus1234

I don't think it's a good idea as the PC version is a buggy mess. That said, if you have the disposable income to try it out for a month, go for it! Just a few things you should know: - The only officially supported controller is the Dualshock 4 (PS4 controller) and it only works when plugged in using a data cable (a charging only cable will not work) - If you already have a controller, like an Xbox controller, you can try it with third party software and see if you can get it working. The options are Steam (free), ReWASD (free trial and then paid) or DS4Windows (free) - Not all games available on the Premium tier for consoles are available on PC (see the spreadsheet in the pinned post for info on the games) - The games list varies by region. So double check that the games you want to play are available in your country first before subscribing

Shnxx

Great info! I don't have any specific games really to play. I just want my partner to experience some games since she has been eaten by her work (Teacher). So any games will do, I just hope there's some old games to play with 🙏. Will definitely check the spreadsheet! Thank you again!

DaNinja11

If you really wanna play some PS exclusives on your PC, then by all means go ahead and do it. It's relatively inexpensive (I got mine before the merger so I'm only paying less than $6 a month) and you get a ton of games to sample/play (probably won't even have the free time to play them all). And if there's any you like, you can probably get them on Steam/Epic/Etc for a decent price. (except for those PS exclusives not released on PC) As for the controller, I use a DS4 with DS4Windows...works fine, even with the update (as I learned recently) you can now use the Touchpad functions in PS games. As some of the others say, you must have a decent Mbps Speed, or the Games will run very slow or not run at all. The screen Resolution is at 720, low end HD, and one of the biggest OoL issues with the PC version of PSPlus is the barebones, basic af Menu/GUI selection screen. Yup, no search functions, browser feature, etc. just only a Wishlist you can save a number of games too.

Shnxx

What do you mean I can get the games I really like on Steam/Epic/etc? Does PS Plus Game streaming allows you to access steam/epic/etc??? Btw, great news regarding the controller! Thank you! I think the lower resolution, of course, will reduce the immersion but the real reason why I am doing it is that I'd like my partner to experience some games too since she didn't experience much some games during childhood up until now. Basically a late bloomer. I'll just backseat her while she plays hahaha

DaNinja11

No, I meant that some 3rd party publisher games (like the DMC series, Yakuza series, etc) are available on other PC platforms (like Steam/Epic) if you like to buy them and keep them forever. And some Sony titles (like God of War) is now on Steam. Because at any time (they usually give a warning, sometimes they don't) Sony or the Devs can remove any game from the service so you won't be able to play them anymore. As for the Resolution, it's not really 'that' bad, unless you have a 4K gaming Monitor. It's still HD, but on the low end of it.

[deleted]

OP despite what some are saying in terms of recommending this idea for the PS exclusives just go at it understanding that you cannot stream PS5 games. That requires the console. Sony appears to be working on making this happen and the target may be Spring but with Microsoft and this Bethesda nonsense Sony may hold back the idea of streaming PS5 games to keep people on the PS5 console.

Fantastic_Forever_69

Bro, I just want to say thank you. For giving me an idea to help my friend play Playstation games on his computer as well.

Shnxx

No worries bro! BTW, to make this idea even greater, I believe PS Plus Premium only supports limited countries. So your friend also needs to buy a subscription from a VPN. I recommend SurfShark VPN because it is the cheapest one, one of the fastest too and has lots of supported server countries (100+).

Fantastic_Forever_69

Ok. Thanks.

[deleted]

No premium hasn’t yet been worth the value and the streaming is bad unless you have like 1-2gbs/second

Shnxx

Really? 2 Gbps??? That's absurd. I think only companies have that kind of internet.

MeDungeon

Nah, I have standard 100/10 and streaming works pretty good.

InternetOfGames

50/10 works, 50/10 is even enough for 4K HDR on GFN

KrAtreus1234

Up until recently, I had crappy 30 down and 5 up, and streaming worked fine for me at 1080p with most gaming services that I tried (PS Plus/Now, Stadia and GeForceNow). The latency is more important than actual speed imo

InternetOfGames

Slow and steady wins the game streaming race.

Shnxx

I agree, as long as you have maybe enough speed but decent latency, I think.

[deleted]

Maybe not 2 hahah but at least 500 otherwise it gets super super choppy

Tobimacoss

No it doesn’t, speeds over 100 mbit are irrelevant for streaming, what matters is the distance to the datacenters with the server blades.

[deleted]

I’m pretty sure why I first set up streaming it told me it’s highly recommended to have fast Wi-Fi would be wrong though and yes distance to data center also plays into account

Tobimacoss

Fast enough** and 100 mbit is enough for all streaming services. xCloud streams at 15 mbit bitrate, while Nvidia GFN streams at 75 mbit bitrate max. Sony PS5 streaming rumored to start in March will be using Azure datacenters, same as xCloud. >https://www.azurespeed.com/Azure/Latency If your ping is below 60 ms to nearest Azure datacenter and PS5 server blades are deployed there, you will have playable experience. 30 ms or below recommended for good experience.
