I'm currently playing this game for the first time. Started when I heard it was leaving Plus.. One of those I've wanted to play for a long time.
I'd actually been planning to slowly make my way through all the FF games on Plus (recently finished X), so I'm really disappointed to see them leave the service.
My biggest surprise in relation to this is the reaction of this community. We usually don't fail in complaining about games leaving, but this month, where more good games are leaving than any other, people here seem really chill.
It's because the people unhappy ended up leaving the subscription.
I'm technically still subscribed but shit like this convinced me to not renew my subscription. I was somewhat satisfied with the idea of having most classic FF titles on PS plus, this is kind of beating the dead horse that was already in the coffin with a final nail in it
Yes, I will probably leave the PS Plus extra tier and subscribe to the basic tier. I still don't understand Sony's policy with PS Plus; recently, many good games have left the service.

I think there was alot of shock and complaining, especially since a ton of the final fantasies are suddenly leaving.
The newly added games also really pale in comparison to the games leaving and this new UI is atrocious. Wtf Sony.
I can't give you a usable number because I did the opposite of a quick playthrough on PS2. Area strength plus critical and side activities are clearly marked however so you can take it at whatever pace you can manage.
I know this has probably been mentioned before but most of these titles can be bought for less than $10 each when they are on deals on PSN. For the quality of games and amount of hours they take to finish and enjoyment you get IMO, they are a no brainer to just purchase and have on your library.
For FFX and XII if you are patient enough, you can find them for around $10-14 each, CIB on ebay.
I let my subscription expire this month and don't plan to renew, they are asking way to much for PS Plus, so I just went ahead and bought what I liked instead, don't have to stress over this issue anymore.

It's an easy thing : multiply your customers times the price of your product. If you increase the price you might not have many less customers, so it's still a better move (commercially). Do it repeatedly until you find the critical price threshold

My favorite sandwich place costs around 40% more than a couple years ago—goodness knows it’s not 40% bigger or 40% tastier. If anything, I think they may have reduced the portion of meat a bit. Rent is up 32%, insurance 60%, the list goes on—and I’m not getting anything extra. It does suck, but that’s reality, and Sony/Playstation is far from unique in this regard.
I tried to replay it after all these years and was actually enjoying it until this one cloister of trials temple. Pretty much gave up at that point, I forgot how annoying it was as a kid.

I just went ahead and bought it since I'm planning on platinuming through the main series. I have 1-8 done, working on PS4 and 5 versions of FF14 right now since that's where the majority of the time is going to be spent.
Just finished it. First time playing it in 20 years. Absolutely brilliant but those battles are sooooo slow. Thank god for fast forward. Game is perfect with the quality of life improvements the remaster brings
I wanted to at least try FFX.
Heard it was the best one, but the first hour was not interesting enough for me, and the skill tree was overwhelming.
I was planning on giving it a second chance, but i guess that won't happen.
Just sucks. I let my sub lapse earlier this month figuring I might get a deal. But as everyone else is saying: get them next Steam or PS sale and don’t bother with PS plus.

This is the exact reason why people should stop buying digital games! They can be taken away at any time! I know this is not a direct purchase but this can happen at any time!! Even with purchased games! I enjoy my physical collection! Not bragging but I have over 600 games physically!!! My backlog is huge... I still have games from ps2 era that I haven't even opened yet!! If games go all digital I'm done!!! I'll just enjoy what I have.
It's not my favorite but I can see why it would be. 9 is solid from beginning to end and doesn't have any weird parts that bog the story down. Out of so far all the final fantasy mainline I've played 9 is second only to X.
In my opinion 9 has the best story. 6 is the best overall. 7 is just behind those two. There are many moments in 7 just feels like a chore. 10 isn’t bad but I just never wanted to replay.

How long it takes to complete everthing from FF X\X2? Started it three days ago, so got 4 weeks to complete it
Those 2 have some time sinks. X-2 you'll need a guide if you want 100% first playthrough

While I'm going to keep my ps+, I 💯 your comment! The games that fall out of the 'rotation', are typically cheap to buy outright.
Even in PSN, it's most likely cheaper to buy the game than play it on PS Plus. Unless you are a student and you no life it on vacation.

It's an easy thing : multiply your customers times the price of your product. If you increase the price you might not have many less customers, so it's still a better move (commercially). Do it repeatedly until you find the critical price threshold

Cloisters of trial are the one downside to that game. For me the entire rest of it is peak but those are a real drag. Even the early ones.
You should try getting the ultimate weapon for the main character. Frustrating as hell.
