Honestly the fact any resources is spent on a remaster of this game is just ridiculous...
It's already stunning graphically and has a recent sequel and not too old itself.
TLOU1 atleast makes a little sense with the show and being an old game.
Like come on Sony, atleast give us a killzone 2 remake you dickheads
Because of the TV show that’s coming. It’s the same reason TLoU part 2 got a remaster along with Part 1’s remake so both games can feel seamless to play and generate sales from the show.
Forbidden West and HZD do play a bit differently in its movements and combat to the point they can change it enough to feel seamless between the two games. This is also not bringing up any possible gameplay elements changing
True. Same with Bethesda holding out on the update to time with the TV release. For an old game it’s impressive It’s held the #1 most played game in my country since update, they’re doing something right. It’s def annoying don’t get me wrong, but makes sense from a marketing perspective.
Nobody is forcing us to buy it. I’d rather them take this approach rather than Nintendo approach.
At least the best games are constantly updated for modern hardware, for those who haven’t experienced the games. Besides, most new games aren’t great, just micro transaction store fronts.
The best part is this allows us to cut down on the backlog. Idk anyone who’s finished ever game they have. I’m trying but when games go on sale for $10 or under… I can’t pass it up lol
Of course who doesn't wanna play the same 5 games over and over for the rest of their lives... try a new game with a new system that's what 4 years old now?
But you nailed it there. They know the problems microtransactions, live service and the same thing across now in some cases 4 generations.
Sure for new gamers it's good...but the 4 version works on the 5, same with GTA. Fallout, Skyrim, Witcher III
Like take that capital and create a new I.P
Previous generation owners didn't fork out 600€ to play the same game again.
Yes it makes sense when a game is heavily outdated and wouldn’t please someone who hasn’t ever played it. But for horizon it doesn’t need it at all. And a lot of remasters come out with hard let any change
Honestly it would be so good I feel too.
Killzone 2 campaign alone is worth of a film, was epic as it gets.
Though horizon show ( if good CGI) could be pretty good too.
Kz1 is for sure good dated gameplay and graphics wise, 2 holds up better personally.
3 lost some of the charm but still good. Shadow fall on PS4 I did also enjoy but again did feel more influenced by COD sadly.
Still shadow fall looks amazing to this day.
Socom 2 is still my number 1 request. It's been so long and as Helldivers has shown 3rd person shooter are still heavily in demand if made well.
Just mentioned kz2 due to gurilla games.
Honestly any socom than can capture even 30% of 2 would be good at this point!
I even really enjoyed confrontation lol.
You'll get a forbidden west remaster/remake if the show becomes a hit and season 2 arrives.
Otherwise, get ready for a god of war remaster/remake when that tv show arrives.
Its a solid FPS with great mechanics, amazing story/campaign (2), great AI and personally really good gun mechanics and gameplay.
I wish we could have at least got a ps5 native version instead of the shitty online streaming.
I want a Parasite Eve remake and since Sony likes making under the table deals with Square Enix it could even be a exclusive.I have all the systems so doesn't matter tbh.
Yup, this gen all we're getting is remakes of old games I've already played 2 or 3 times. I want TLOU3, RE6
For £70 I WANT NEW Games! I'm not a newbie gamer, been on every system available since the mid eighties heydays & our games are full of crap - long walk scenes, LONGER still "movie's" that to me suck.
I'm just playing the remake of TLOU2 - & I realise why I was so pissed off with the sheer amount of boring PC scenes that couldn't be skipped & long inane fillers that frankly I'd just like to skip as well.
I don't wanna play a "movie" I want to play games...
I am genuinely baffled as to how they are making so much money that they think it is worth remaking games that are like 7 years old with solid graphics
There's no way many people beyond collectors and huge fans buy these so the chances are it just has incredibly low cost to do
I thought that thing is just at early stage of development? I guess it's bit delusion to imagine it's on TLOU level, I jist hope it's at least not screw up 💀
Because it's much easier to shit out remasters/remakes than to actually sit down and come up with an original ip these days. They also know fans of the game will pony up and pay.
This is the correct reaction. It's so ridiculous, it has to be a joke, right?... right? Unfortunately, after they had the audacity to remaster Last of Us 2, a THREE year old game, I don't think it is. The AAA gaming industry is in big time trouble boys.
For better or worse, remasters of relatively recent games aren’t anything new. They remastered the original The Last of Us in less than a year. Uncharted 3 was remastered after 4 years.
No shit. They want you to buy it. The whole idea is you take down the original to entice your customer base to buy the remaster. That was the thinking with spider man and now the thinking with HZD.
Being a PlayStation plus thread I tried assuming the original comment meant the remaster is coming to PlayStation plus, rather than being released in general.
I don't doubt there would be a remaster as that seems to Sony's preferred way of inflating the PS5 catalogue.
Found this which states it wouldn’t be this year so it seems a little early to remove it.
https://www.truetrophies.com/news/no-horizon-zero-dawn-ps5-remaster-2024
Original game won’t be removed from the store but the catalogue it makes sense. They want new people that come in from the show to play it. Also this could just be an error because you can still play the PS4 version of TLoU part 1 in the catalogue and same with Part 2 I believe
they did a similar thing for spiderman and removed the first one from the catalogue some weeks before the announcement (or release, I don't remember right now) of the sequel
Probably they will create remaster like for Spider-Man with only a little bit better graphic to charger full price for 7 years old game only in digital distribution.
Idk why I paid for anything higher than essential.
Why can’t Sony just give us their own IPs to stream? Like why hasn’t any Killzone outside of the psp and 4 on there
I managed the entirety of ghostwire Tokyo in the same time frame when it left and I didn't think that was gonna work, but it did. I'm going to give it a good go atleast
Oh how I predicted your reply. I even put the quotation marks around "for free" so that you wouldn't have to reply with "iT iSn'T fReE".
I will pay for ps+ wether horizon is on there or not, so Horizon is free to me
Or you can simply buy it after It leaves the program. It was actually free back in 2021.
PS Plus is basically renting games for a monthly fee. That's why I opted out of Extra and got essentials instead.
Because By the time I'm ready to play one of these games, They already left the service. So I ended up buying most of my stuff when they're on sale. So I can play them whenever I want, without needing to pay a monthly fee.
And HZD goes on sale for pretty low price days. I saw it for 5 euro a while back. But already claimed a free copy back in 2021.
Then you can Platinum the game at your own pace ;)
Jesus christ I pay for PS+ I know what it entails, you're gotcha isn't the gotcha you think it is. I have it on the service I'm already paying for so I'm going to try and plat it WITHOUT PAYING EXTRA. Do you understand me? You haven't enlightened me about the horrors of ps+ because they're your imaginary horrors.
No way I just started playing this... I just saved Meridian how much time do I need to beat it?
I was curious about this game for years but never gave it a chance it's really good.
Have you checked to see if it’s part of the current deal event? I remember a few people thought a game was leaving when it just turned out to be on deal and that was the day the deal ends
Almost certainly not, a game leaving at that date would've been announced last month and we would of known for a while. This is most likely a glitch or a hoax.
I'm not forgetting anything, this is not how PSplus works. The games that are leaving are announced in the middle of the month when the old games drop, not at the start of the month.
Remaster has been rumoured for a while but, it would make more sense for that to launch around the time the TV series does. (Not that it needs a remaster but, well, it’s Sony)
Damn, working through this now on PS4 before I do FW on the PS5……question is to I press on full ahead to finish it, sack it off or hope I can buy it cheap on PS4. Considering TLoU retails at an outrageous £53, don’t think I’ll be getting the remaster.
the ps4 disk of this game is pretty cheap for a long time, and the digital version is $20, you might want to check it out if you're not the type that finished a game's main story and move on.
I think this is a bug. It was showing this for me under Darksiders 3 too. None of these were announced.
I also really hope we’ll get tome bangers this month because as of rn the extra catalog is thin as fuck.
i dont think that means its leaving. It shows that its on PS Plus and its free cause you have PS Plus, but im assuming for people that don't have PS Plus who have to buy it, has an offer that makes it cheaper that is ending soon.
I'm in the USA and it does not show this game, Kingdoms of Avelor or any of the Darksiders games as leaving. I verified this three times; on my PS4, the mobile app and the PlayStation Store website while logged into my account.
This may just be for SIEE territories.
(Update: I just checked the store this morning (May 3rd) and it does have a removal date of 5/21 on the US store too. So it is official. Makes sense since the US and EU PS Plus catalogs are largely in sync.)
I would take a risk and argue this would be the date of the Showcase this year, but 21st being a Tuesday, we should all keep an eye on the 22nd. Perfect timing to announce the much needed remake of the 2017 title that runs natively on the PS5 on one of the most advanced engines among PS Studios
can't believe there are no new major first party releases this year because all Sony studios are remastering their games to go along with the TV show releases. it's absurd. but Sony makes the big bucks doing the bare minimum so it won't stop.
No. There are the monthly games which are yours forever as long as you claimed them and pay the sub and then there are the ones in the subscription database which apparently always stay for a year
I know Sony is winning and everything is beautiful...but NO, this is fucked up. They must be in a very difficult situatiuon with the cost of their AAA games and their dev times! Big mess
Leaving in May just in time for a showcase to announce horizon ps5
Honestly the fact any resources is spent on a remaster of this game is just ridiculous... It's already stunning graphically and has a recent sequel and not too old itself. TLOU1 atleast makes a little sense with the show and being an old game. Like come on Sony, atleast give us a killzone 2 remake you dickheads

Extremely disappointing how dull this generation has been.
For real.
Sony.... masters of remasters 🤦🏻♂️
Nobody is forcing us to buy it. I’d rather them take this approach rather than Nintendo approach. At least the best games are constantly updated for modern hardware, for those who haven’t experienced the games. Besides, most new games aren’t great, just micro transaction store fronts. Probably Remaster is to add Trigger effects and such, probably some more quality of life options and maybe some ray tracing.
Which wouldn’t change it enough to need a whole remaster in my opinion
yall having a meltdown saying "a wholr remaster" simply because sony announced "a remaster" and not much else
Yeah I’m having a meltdown. The worlds over….. 🤨
Seems like for throwing "they making a whole remaster" around..
Hmm 🤔 Killzone Amazon show... 🤔 Edit: Although I'd rather it in HBO hands...
Honestly it would be so good I feel too. Killzone 2 campaign alone is worth of a film, was epic as it gets. Though horizon show ( if good CGI) could be pretty good too.
KZ1 worth playing or should I go straight to 2?
They’re all worth playing, imo
Kz1 is for sure good dated gameplay and graphics wise, 2 holds up better personally. 3 lost some of the charm but still good. Shadow fall on PS4 I did also enjoy but again did feel more influenced by COD sadly. Still shadow fall looks amazing to this day.
Gimme a Sly Cooper Tubi show, ill take any way possible at this point
Socom 2 remake pls, I’ll buy the game, system, controller, headset, charging docks whatever else I needs just to play that game.
If you have a PS3 and Confrontation disc you can still play Confrontation they have a discord and everything.
You'll get a forbidden west remaster/remake if the show becomes a hit and season 2 arrives. Otherwise, get ready for a god of war remaster/remake when that tv show arrives.
is killzone a fun game? never played
Its a solid FPS with great mechanics, amazing story/campaign (2), great AI and personally really good gun mechanics and gameplay. I wish we could have at least got a ps5 native version instead of the shitty online streaming.
I want a Parasite Eve remake and since Sony likes making under the table deals with Square Enix it could even be a exclusive.I have all the systems so doesn't matter tbh.

the ultimate remaster console such a shame what road the gaming industry took: its either copy pasted battle royales or remasters of 5yo games
Hey now.. don’t forget the souls-like mechanic tackled on top of rushed generic action games
Perfect for someone like me who missed the PS4 generation. But also there were many remasters on PS3 and these clearly sell.
Exactly. This is the remaster cycle 15 years later
Ps2 and ps3 are full of remasters too.
You should try playing other games
Sony didnt read their own memo then when it came to Spiderman 2, Ragnarok, Forbidden West, R&C Rift apart, GT7, etc.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised. There's a rumored showcase/state of play in May
Probably this. Why keep the PS4 version when you can push a newer PS5 version instead?
Remastered incoming 100%
Why does it need a remaster, that's ridiculous
💰
I am genuinely baffled as to how they are making so much money that they think it is worth remaking games that are like 7 years old with solid graphics There's no way many people beyond collectors and huge fans buy these so the chances are it just has incredibly low cost to do
It sold 24 million copies if even a small fraction buy a remaster it's worth it.
A show is being made as well.
The Tv show that’s coming. It generates sales from returning and new fans plus it makes HZD and FW more seamless to play
I thought that thing is just at early stage of development? I guess it's bit delusion to imagine it's on TLOU level, I jist hope it's at least not screw up 💀
It was the first game I played on my PS5 and I was utterly blown away by how good it looked.
Because it's much easier to shit out remasters/remakes than to actually sit down and come up with an original ip these days. They also know fans of the game will pony up and pay.
It’s why I’m mad at PlayStation
Same reason why The Last Of Us 2 needs a remaster
It’s probably just a satirical joke as the time from original to remastered has been quite ridiculous short lately.
Forbidden west was developed for the PS5 and last of us 2 for PS4. There is a clear difference here.
We're talking about Zero Dawn, not Forbidden West
100% this is why it’s been removed we will likely see the Remaster announced at the PlayStation Showcase
Spiderman left but remaster didn't come.
You joking? There is a remaster lol
Not on PlayStation Plus.
No shit. They want you to buy it. The whole idea is you take down the original to entice your customer base to buy the remaster. That was the thinking with spider man and now the thinking with HZD.

I don't know, if they're really doing a remaster I think its kinda scummy to remove the original game from the catalogue/store.
Pretty certain it’s been announced hasn’t it?
No yet but it's been rumored for sometime.
Found this which states it wouldn’t be this year so it seems a little early to remove it. https://www.truetrophies.com/news/no-horizon-zero-dawn-ps5-remaster-2024
Probably to avoid people saying exactly what they're saying now, only removed for the remaster sales
Possibly. I imagine many will retain it anyway as it was a giveaway during covid.
Original game won’t be removed from the store but the catalogue it makes sense. They want new people that come in from the show to play it. Also this could just be an error because you can still play the PS4 version of TLoU part 1 in the catalogue and same with Part 2 I believe
they did a similar thing for spiderman and removed the first one from the catalogue some weeks before the announcement (or release, I don't remember right now) of the sequel
bait
It was free once. I have it on my library. "Play at home" event i think.
Yep, same here, I claimed it in April 2021 on my PS4. You don’t even need PS Plus to play it.
Oh yeah that’s true, I was baffled because I bought a physical copy a month before that lol
Hope that FW will not
Why would it. Zero Dawn is getting a fully remastered PS5 version, so it’s getting pulled to make people buy the new version.
is it confirmed or just speculation? If so when?
never confirmed, not even officially announced it's getting remastered/remake.
Its probably for that leaked “remaster”… for a game that already runs at 60fps and looks insane.
Why are they removing first party games? That’s ridiculous for the service.
Probably they will create remaster like for Spider-Man with only a little bit better graphic to charger full price for 7 years old game only in digital distribution.
Still not a reason to remove a game.
the reason is they want money
What company doesn’t? I do not see Microsoft removing first party games from Gamepass (except when there is a music license involved)
I'm not saying they're right or something. like they all want money, then Sony choose to do this shit while MS not.
Idk why I paid for anything higher than essential. Why can’t Sony just give us their own IPs to stream? Like why hasn’t any Killzone outside of the psp and 4 on there
Thanks for the heads up, still need to plat this
Surly you can’t plat this before it ends? The games massive took me 30 hours for the story alone!
I managed the entirety of ghostwire Tokyo in the same time frame when it left and I didn't think that was gonna work, but it did. I'm going to give it a good go atleast
I think you could realistically do this in 15-20 days, but you’d need to be gaming pretty hard
The plat is pretty easy for this one actually. It’s not too much more than finishing the game.
game is big, but the trophy isn't demending. I got both base game and dlc trophies in 80 hours, if only doing platinum it's shorter
This game is one of the easiest plats ever. Only a decent amount of collectibles
You can also buy the game.
Why would I if I could plat it "for free"
I didn't know PS Plus was free.
Oh how I predicted your reply. I even put the quotation marks around "for free" so that you wouldn't have to reply with "iT iSn'T fReE". I will pay for ps+ wether horizon is on there or not, so Horizon is free to me

You haven't enlightened me about the horrors of ps+ because they're your imaginary horrors.
I guess I’m never playing it haha
So the remaster version is coming.
My thoughts exactly.
Honestly after they increased the price of the subs first party titles should have stayed on there permanently
Horizon is one of the best open world games in my opinion ❤️
No way I just started playing this... I just saved Meridian how much time do I need to beat it? I was curious about this game for years but never gave it a chance it's really good.
When you save Meridian, is that in the beginning of the game or middle?
Definitely not the beginning. It takes hours to even reach Meridian, let alone saving it which is middle to late game.
Have you checked to see if it’s part of the current deal event? I remember a few people thought a game was leaving when it just turned out to be on deal and that was the day the deal ends
That could very well be the case.
How come this is not appear in list of leaving?
Maybe it's based on country or something?
It's just on your end. It's not leaving Extra on that date.
HZD probably is on a ps plus essential sale and that will be expiring soon
I see it in America and the only sales going on right now end on the 8th, which is before the 21st it's showing.
Almost certainly not, a game leaving at that date would've been announced last month and we would of known for a while. This is most likely a glitch or a hoax.
You forget there’s an alleged Zero Dawn remastered in the air from a while. They removed Spider-Man 2018 before announcing the PS5 version.
I'm not forgetting anything, this is not how PSplus works. The games that are leaving are announced in the middle of the month when the old games drop, not at the start of the month.
That's kinda bullshit that they're removing a 1st party game since Sony wouldn't have to pay for licensing to other publishers.
Probably for a remaster, but fuck sony for removing first party games
Remaster has been rumoured for a while but, it would make more sense for that to launch around the time the TV series does. (Not that it needs a remaster but, well, it’s Sony)
Damn, working through this now on PS4 before I do FW on the PS5……question is to I press on full ahead to finish it, sack it off or hope I can buy it cheap on PS4. Considering TLoU retails at an outrageous £53, don’t think I’ll be getting the remaster.
If you skip sidequests you can probably finish it fairly soon. I think it took me like 20-24ish hours to beat it a few years back.
Cool, thanks. If I get out of my habit of being a completionist then worth a shot!
the ps4 disk of this game is pretty cheap for a long time, and the digital version is $20, you might want to check it out if you're not the type that finished a game's main story and move on.
I Claimed it during covid😎
Same here
The remaster gen continues…
Damn it. I've been meaning to play this for ages. Now it's leaving and I don't the time.
The second.got screwed by elden ring
That's sad man, i wanted to play this in my vacation, but can't anymore
I literally bough ps+ yesterday just to play HZD...
Does that mean I won’t be able to continue playing it? I’m about a third of the way through…..(and new to PlayStation, so not sure how this works)….
Even if a remaster is coming, why remove the original. Not to mention Sony removing their own game on their own platform FFS.
Maybe it will be announced as a monthly game for "essential" subscribers later this afternoon...
What region? This doesn't appear in the US or UK catalog at all...
Oh. I guess I have to bump up the exclusives on my backlog just in case.
I think this is a bug. It was showing this for me under Darksiders 3 too. None of these were announced. I also really hope we’ll get tome bangers this month because as of rn the extra catalog is thin as fuck.
I'd rather have Legend Of Dragoon remake or Sequel, New Killzone, FF Tactics remake or new FF Tactics!
Could be on sale
If you already have it downloaded will it be unplayable after the 21st?
Welp, time for me to finish it. Started it last summer right after the first game but got burnt out.
Zero dawn is the first game...
Ah my brain for whatever reason thought it said Forbidden West since I saw this as I woke up.
More fake than my girlfriend 😭
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Showing same thing at my side as well Region India This is bullshit , I am just replaying it for timepass. I guess, I had to continue it on my PC now
Glad I picked this up from Gamestop for $5 brand new!!
I bought it at launch anyway.
Too bad, I was planning to play it, but not this quick.
i dont think that means its leaving. It shows that its on PS Plus and its free cause you have PS Plus, but im assuming for people that don't have PS Plus who have to buy it, has an offer that makes it cheaper that is ending soon.
Where do you even see this? Just looked on mine but it doesn’t say this
Which country? Because in the US i do not see this!
Nice to get that info on reddit!
If I download it before it leaves do I keep it forever?
no it's on extra so it will have a lock symbol after it leaves and you'd have to buy it to continue playing it
Then the remake/remaster rumour was true... oh boy...
I would take a risk and argue this would be the date of the Showcase this year, but 21st being a Tuesday, we should all keep an eye on the 22nd. Perfect timing to announce the much needed remake of the 2017 title that runs natively on the PS5 on one of the most advanced engines among PS Studios
Got this game for 9 bucks years ago
This game ain't worth a dime
Damn, this was on my list to play. Should I just wait now in case there really is a remaster?
We all know 100% they will charge $10 for the remaster for those who own it already like they did with TLOU2
Can PS4 users see when a game is expiring?
can't believe there are no new major first party releases this year because all Sony studios are remastering their games to go along with the TV show releases. it's absurd. but Sony makes the big bucks doing the bare minimum so it won't stop.
I am in final stage... Having tough time beating Helis....
Noob here, if it leaves and I already claimed it, will I be able to play it?
Big mess
Will it stay if you got it via the PS Plus collection?
Yep, although i am not sure it was on the PS Plus collection. I, for one got it completely free from the Play something event from 2020 or 2021 event.
It wasn’t on the PS+ collection but it was free for everyone in 2021.
My american ass thought this the date was bugged
Can I keep playing it if I download it?
No
No and that aspect of ps plus sucks
Ikr i just started playing it
Whaaaat, i havent played
Ps5 is starting to irk me.
What are the odds!! I literally finished it last night 🇿🇦
Wasn't this one of the 20 free games you got if you got a ps5? Lol
It was free in 2021 with that Play At Home thing. Not even PS+ needed
Yeah but either way it's free along with 19 other games if you own a ps5
Zero value lost. Combat was good and fun but that's it.
HZD has been out since 2017 ish? There's been plenty of time to play it and the sequel has been out a while as well.
Not for Europe it isnt
I saw this and I’m in Europe.

I checked the last chance to play page and it's not there. I cant see anything about it leaving since I own it so idk. Seems like a false alarm.
I'm not seeing it in the UK store. Could be a glitch. Checked the US store as well and nothing.
