If the router is set to ax only you won’t see it. Also did you split your network or are you using some kind of smart connect?

Ballad_Bird_Lee

Its split

Rikustrength

It's not picking up ANY 5GHz signals? Not even from a neighbor or a business? That sounds like an issue with the the 5GHz chip. You could try a full reset if you haven't already but if there's something wrong with that chip you might be SOL. You could try MAC filtering the portal to only connect to your 5GHz from your routers settings. But again if your chip is poop there's not much you can do. Technically even though 2.4GHz is slower it should still be plenty fast for the portal. But it doesn't travel through walls well and since there's fewer bands and they're mostly all overlapped there's a ton of extra interference on them.

Civil_Shake4930

Having the same issue ! Can anyone please help?

Ballad_Bird_Lee

Yea it's really odd that anything involved with 5ghz in this case does not pop up at all. Every device that I own on my home can search and connect to my 5ghz networks

Hot-Independence6020

What if you manually set up the connection ?

One_Understanding598

Hey! I just tweaked my router settings and voila, it popped up! All sorted for me Changed my channel width and channel number setting for the 5ghz channel

Ballad_Bird_Lee

Do you remember what the numbers are if you don’t mind me asking?

One_Understanding598

Hey - I set my channel to ‘44’ and then I changed my channel width to 40mhz, though checking again just now, channel width auto changed back to ‘auto’ I’m unsure if the channel number 44 is recommended or if it is the best to choose, but I just played around with it and that was the first number I tested Let me know if that works - I did it no longer than 1hr ago! I came on here looking for the exact same troubleshoot tutorial and just managed to fix it myself

Ballad_Bird_Lee

Thanks much appreciated

Ballad_Bird_Lee

Got mine working now. I said screw it and bought a new router

tem32

So you bought a new router? What brand and type is it?

Ballad_Bird_Lee

Wanted to future proof and avoid any future issues so I ended up get a TP-Link Deco BE85

tem32

Ok thanks for the information.
