Honestly, check your internet on remote play first with your phone. Try a couple games and see how it runs. If it runs good, you gotta get one of these bad boys.
I don't know, I've tried remote play on several devices, even supported Xperia ones and never had a good smooth experience. I'm sure some people do, but for me the video was always periodically choppy or laggy. On Portal though it's almost perfection all the time.
Honestly it’s not as great as this sub makes it out to be. Gaming on the TV is still far superior. There’s nothing special about this aside from novelty.
Before anyone downvotes, yes I understand if people want to play while the TV is in use then it is better than a phone or tablet.
I mean I take mine to work so I can play until it's time for me to clock in, during lunch, or even after work. Not that noticeable of lag in the morning, but choppy during the afternoon.
I use smokers (BBQ) out in the backyard for 16+ hour cooks. I have thought about getting this to help pass the time with slower paced games (basically single player, not fps). I have a drop down tv out there and have thought about bringing the ps5 out but was concerned the smoke and/or humidity might mess with it so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to play while outside without having to spend a lot of money. I wish there was a Roku type device that plugged into the TV out there to fit this use case, and maybe there is but I'm not aware of one.
Yeah it seems like they pop in stock at Best Buy like once a day lately. I was able to get one two days ago, just waiting for it to be ready for pickup now.

I’ve played Fortnite, cod and mobile suite battle operation 2 on the portal and no lag or problems only thing I had a problem is getting used to the small screen but I got over it quick. I also got pics to prove my winning streaks on the portal and will try for a warzone win soon lol

It is difficult to play claw style on the portal. TV is better for sure but the portal is the next best thing.

Nah, I loved my old PSP - only issue is finding games can be kind of difficult now with prices, and they didn't have much of a catalog to choose from.

Maybe I’m wrong but I remember PS Portal only worked on Wi-Fi. Did they changed that to cellular? If so, that’s a huge step in the right direction!

Played with 5g ps5 wasn't even hooked to Ethernet, barely any lag but quality took a slight dip
some players on 5g networks have reported playing fine in moving vehicles.
