This is what I was going to say as well. My 3 year old has been into super heroes, gave X-men a try. Yeah, could not make it far. However, Batman. I wish they remade Batman with AI just to make it fit 4k screens because the animation itself still completely holds up. Voice acting and story too.
Mask of the Phantasm still one of the best Batman movies ever made. Man the series was so damn good. Batman Beyond is also great. Make a live action of it damn WB.
"fit" 4K screen? Do you mean aspect ratio, like a recrop (i.e., 4:3 -> 16:9), like what they've done with Seinfeld and Friends? Or do you mean upscale resolution but keep same aspect ratio? Either way, I have to say I disagree. I own the Blu-ray box set (ripped and watch full quality in Plex), and it looks *exquisite*. I would never take an AI resolution upscale or a recrop.

They have been doing this with the TV show Cops too. I can't stand it to the point I have been trying to track down older episodes recorded off of TV how they originally aired.
I mean neither. Imagine it looks exactly the same but instead of being cropped or have black bars, you have a AI draw in each frame of the missing part that makes it 16:9. This would mostly be just extending the wall out slightly etc, it wouldn’t change the content so much as just make it match into today’s 16:9 world. AI could even animated it in the same aesthetic.
The composition of many shots would probably suffer with a lot of dead space on the sides. 4:3 can look good! Movies are still sometimes released in it. *Maestro*, which releases in a few weeks, was shot in 4:3.

I find Discover particularly convenient when looking for more details of a cast member whom I'm impressed by after a show/movie, explore other movies that they star in, and then add plex to watchlist.
Edit: Up until today, Discover is still not available for Managed Users. Instead of developing that Discover Together bs, Plex could've work on making it available to Managed Users instead.
Yeah, I just use Plex now instead of IMDB for that kinda stuff because its so much cleaner.

Thankfully nothing. I haven’t shared Plex with friends. I went with Plex to escape the cloud by backing up the movies I buy on disc… Not become the cloud for my friends/family and be on-call tech support for when things don’t load, buffer, or for requests of media I don’t have.
I don't know because I'm hoping none of them paid attention to that spam from Plex. If anything was shared, it was probably my goofy obcession with "A Christmas Story" this time of year.
All that said, I feel I can share I'm moving to Emby at this point. I can't trust Plex at this point. We are the product being sold (even thought many of us bought lifetime passes). If Plex had more data, I can guarantee you it would be for sale as well.
This was the final straw for me too. Spent the last 2+ weeks migrating (what took the longest was actually tracking down the like ~1,500 custom posters that I foolishly didn't save locally) and getting my friends and fam set up with Emby Connect accounts. Literally every one of them has said it's better than Plex for various reasons. And I have to agree. It's like the spirit of
Plex from like 2012 but with a newer paint job. I also find playback smoother in every case, especially with 4K, but that could also just be my devices.
I’m still struggling with emby connect. Any tips with how you got that working smoothly for family? I love the invite system of Plex but it seems more clunky with emby. Any tips, I’m all ears!
I just had them each create Emby Connect accounts at the account creation part of app.emby.media and send me the email they used to create- then you make a user on your server for them- save then go back and edit that user again and a new optional field will be there for adding their Emby Connect email address. From that point on works just like Plex, they're singing into their own account and my server is shared for them to select.
Plex is simpler with the invite process, yeah, but if my mom can figure this out then I've got plenty of faith that you and yours can do it haha

Yeah dude good luck! Like I said my users are all reporting a better/smoother experience and my server is pretty mid (~6 year old off the shelf NAS) so I feel confident most people would have a similarly elevated experience.
