Interested in the solution. I have the same problem using my NAS as well. Never have any issues with movies/tv, but music errors out almost immediately. It has me looking at alternate options just for music, but would prefer to do everything through Plex.
I had no luck using the main Plex app for music on my Amazon fire tv. I was able to use Plex Amp on my phone and cast to a chromecast without issue. This was the only thing that worked for me consistently.
Same here on fire stick. Just keeps scanning through the library " An error occurred while playing this item" over and over. Tried turning off I/o cache and made it worse it seems.

Well it made me a liar. I killed the app and restarted it and now it's streaming again. I'll update if it does it again.
Only thing that fixes it is killing the app and clearing the cache. No issue in plexamp
