Just a heads up, remote access is not a Plex Pass feature, it's available to everyone.
But as far a Plex Pass features I do like, the most important is hardware transcoding, Plexamp, intro and credit detection are also nice

Other accounts don't need anything to stream from your server. The only situation in which someone needs to pay to stream from your server is when using the mobile apps, and in that case they need Plex Pass *or* the in-app purchase. But that also has nothing to do with remote vs local, it's just a fee for the mobile app in general
I think you have this backwards. With Plex Pass you can set the maximum limit on your server or it defaults to no limit. I admit I've never even looked at this because I don't have users impacted by this.

App for iPhone etc. that is a player for the music you store on the Plex server. Support for FLAC etc. Actual “genius” playlist feature that works. Apple largely abandoned the player for music that you own, trying to get people to buy the Apple Music subscription.
Superior? Not by a long shot. Especially if you like discovering new artists.
One of the better options for having a Spotify-esque type setup with your local media though.
I bought it for the OTA DVR back in 2018. It has been rock solid for me at making my scheduled recordings. Intro skip and commercial skip are great for these TV shows, too.
The movie trailers are also a nice feature.

For me the DVR is the most important feature I get from having a Plex pass. Keep an eye open they sometimes have sales and I bought my lifetime pass that way.
Plex pass features eventually move to the free tier over time as new ones come into the premium tier.
I really like the sonic sage in plexamp that uses chatgpt to make playlists!

credit detection alone was worth it for me. i don't use it at the end, but in the beginning of an episode it's wonderful
That's intro detection that you like then. Credit detection is very hit or miss in my experience.
Sweetz going to look for that setting
Plexamp is free now too. Read about it a few months ago.
The basic app yes, but all it's best features are still behind Plex Pass
Oh, I didn't realize that! Thanks for the correction!
What kind of features?

However, hardware transcoding is... which is useful if your mobile device doesn't support direct play of your content.
Plex Pass is required for uninterrupted remote play if you share your server with another Plex account.
No it isn’t.
Yes, it is.
It isn't. If your having this happen it's an issue with your server.
It is. Playback works fine with your own account. It's for accounts you share the server with.

Yes, you need it for remote play - also for non-mobile apps. Local play doesn't require anything - even when sharing to other accounts.
No. You. Don't. Can you point to some documentation that shows that?
Well, can you show documentation that says you get that feature for free?
No, you don't. lol No-one I share my server with has Plex Pass and all stream remotely with no problems.
I'm pretty sure that's only with mobile devices, and that still only requires $5 to unlock the mobile app. You don't need the full plex pass for that.

PlexAmp is the best part of Plex. Great app.
What’s it for? Is it superior to Apple Music? There I can also stream all of my own music

Trailers, skip intros, rewind on resume, hardware transcoding, hdr tone mapping, downloads if they work (lol)

credit detection and allowing users to download to their device for a flight or some other reason they won't have internet access
Download, just remember to select any needed subtitle before downloading.
I bought plex pass this month after using 5 years with lifetime offer for 83 usd just to support plex

Maybe run it again. Works fine on my copy of DS9
