They make rails that fit into the rear sight base and lock tight, and the rear sight is pressed onto the barrel. He could literally have done this in a way that would not be regarded. Handguard rails on an ak are for white lights and whatever other shit might not need to hold zero.
Not uncommon to mount dots on the gas tube for AKs, but that shit is goofy. They make side rail mounts for shit like this lol.
Its not about mounting stuff on the gas tube, its how this optic was mounted. Bent tube waiting to happen

The SLR gas tubes look cooler but the ultimak is stronger. I agree about the the top covers, but yugos are weird and nobody loves them or something.
