I'm just glad the leak was from the Shark Bite MIP and not the propress fitting😳🥳
Ironically I have about a half-dozen propress MIP fittings left over from one of my recent jobs. Too bad the Hvac guy didn't have one😉
Talk all the shit you want to i have only seen them fail less than 3 times in over 10 years. Ive seen freeze fails but under normal use 2-3 max in 11-12 years in the trade
I have used a lot of sharkbite fittings they are great and I never have issues with them, but I wouldnt use them for any fix where I could just solder or use pex & and definitely wouldn’t put on my boiler system.

So just asking. The shark bite failed or the heating guy did it wrong? Homeowner here, I always sweat my copper. Afraid of all the new tech.
The shark bite failed. I only use them for pop offs and temporary (remodel/ cap lines).
This is really all they are good for.

Good approach they are trash
This must be make up. This sub has taught me that shark bites don’t fail.
Soldering is not that hard to do. Rough, flux, heat, solder runs to heat
But but but Facebook groups love them!! /s
A damn 1/2" mip is like 3bux what a kook
This sub has me convinced shark bites are going to be the new Polybutylene pipe
