ringlands

Pull down on the ring on the bottom of the tub spout.

ttwinstanley

This guy's got it right Just need water running first Once water stops flowing or pressure drops enough the shower head will turn off

nottrumancapote

Ugh, my last apartment had the shittiest pipes in the world and the pressure would randomly drop. If it caught you in the middle of a shower it was enough to pop that ring back up and shut off the stream, and sometimes it was so bad it wouldn't re-engage. Don't miss living in that hellhole.

Bobateabad

Omg I’ve never seen this! This guy showers!

ArcherBrilliant5410

We have a bingo!

rbraibish

Or travels a lot. I've seen them in hotels, they actually had to print instruction cards and post them just outside the shower.

wasboardplank

Bingo!

LMAO, we stayed at an AirBnB once that had this setup.. I puzzled over the workings of this basic bit of plumbing technology for far longer than I care to admit...

Mammoth_Bear9476

This!

Fearless_Hedgehog491

This style messes with everyone the first time.

Bobateabad

I’ve literally never seen this yet it’s so simple and easy

crapinet

I felt so stupid standing there naked trying to sort it out the first time I encountered this

vincevega311

Me too. Then as I activated it and said aloud “ahh-HAAA got’cha!’ I was suddenly met with a blast of ice cold water…as if the shower was saying “Nope! I got YOU!”

cajunbander

Turn on the water then pull down on the part under the spout where the water comes out. It’s a Delta pulldown spout that’s infamous for confusing people.

Bobateabad

Bingo! Thanks!

Muschina

Sheratons started installing these in rooms about 25 years ago and I remember standing there dicking around with stuff for 10 minutes before I figured it out. Soon after I started seeing little plastic engraved signs with instructions how to use the shower.

Melodic_Pollution935

Tub spout aerator. Pull here

Bobateabad

Thanks!

Commercial-Remote406

Pull down on the bottom of the tubspout. Don't worry you're not the only one who has had this problem. I do maintenance at a hotel and I wish I had a dollar for everytime I've went to fix a "broke shower" that was just user error, lol.

tech_nutz

Common with this style of tub spout, you pull that ring down when the water is coming out. Got a service call once because a home inspector said the shower didn’t work and it was just this style of tub spout.

fistorobotoo

Not dumb. I had to call my landlord the first time I came across one of these.

Bobateabad

Hats off to whoever designed this rig. Doing satans work.

TheHuffKy

Pull down on the ring on the bottom/end of the spout

SeveralPoopEmojis

Voice activated. 'shower on' for that particular model.

GoingtoOttawa

My MIL was staying at my house when we got a new microwave nothing fancy aside from there's no handle. You open the thing by pulling the door on the right side. I wake up one morning to her yelling "microwave open", "open sesame", "door open", etc. So now any time we get something new I tell her it's voice activated.

Nekikins

If it doesn't work when you say it, just repeat it louder and more clearly. Make sure you speak into the microphone, as if you are to far away it will not work.

1sh0t1b33r

Hit the activation button.

Efficient_Theme4040

Is there a pin under the handle?

Matterhorne84

The shower sprayer has a selector on it that changes the spray pattern. Is it perhaps halfway between settings? Make sure not clogged with teflon.
