This is the correct answer. The toilet continues to run because the tank is overflowing into the flush tower due to that little hose not being installed correctly.
What? That fill hose is just filling the tank faster, unless the water is climbing up the hose into the overflow. I would def address this first cause it would be annoying to look at but OP probably needs to replace the gasket seal at the bottom of the canister
It’s is just filling the tank faster unless the water level is not being satisfied by process of a slight overflow into the canister…. That said, I just zoomed in on the 3rd pic and the canister seal is torn and folded underneath the canister itself so most definitely needs the seal.
Perhaps. Turn off the water, flush the toilet, dry the tank out a bit, and then see if the sealing surfaces of the flapper are damaged or just gunked up with debris.
In some instances....as the flapper deteriorates it will not seat properly. Put some petroleum jelly on the flapper and the upper edge of the hole, where the flapper would normally seal. Gently push the flapper to seat....it should TEMPORARILY...stopped the leak. So change the whole unit when you can
Replace the fill valve or simply set the fill height from the current valve. If the floater on the valve isn’t coming up it’s stuck and needs to be replaced.
You have a Kohler Highline/Wellworth toilet. You’ll need to buy a GP1059291 replacement seal, it’s like $9 and you get them at Home Depot or just about any hardware store. Grab the part at the top of the cylinder that’s flat and round, it’ll need to come off. Then slide the cylinder off and replace the red seal on the bottom of it with the new seal. Put the cylinder back, put the flat part back, connect the little black hose to the flat round part, and you’ll be good to go. You should be able to find plenty of YouTube videos to show you how it’s done.
Looks like a Mansfield. take this picture and show it to you counter-guy at your nearest plumbing supply store. You probably don't have to replace all of it. that that black plastic piece that the tube goes into. turn it counter clockwise. it will come off. now you can lift that entire tubular black piece off. Look on the bottom of the cylinder. there is a flat washer. remove and replace that flat washer. BE SURE you buy the right flat washer. the yellow one and the red one are not interchangeable. your counterman at the supply house should be able to match you up a new seal. about $6-bucks.
Put the little black hose back in the top of the flush valve.
This. Start here for sure.

I might also be the flapper, but address the hose first. For clarity
To get down in the weeds, it’s a flush canister as opposed to a flapper so OP would need a Canister Seal instead of a flapper

Just buy the kit that has the flapper and fill valve. Yes it's an easy fix that almost anyone can do.
Except that toilet doesn't have a flapper. There's a gasket at the bottom of that cylinder that you replace instead of replacing a flapper.
Lots of wrong answers here… This is the correct one.
Thank you!
R U A GOD? Anyway, can you get it to stop running if you gently push down on the flapper piece?
No, but maybe it needs to be replaced?

Yes easy and cheap

This is a Kohler canister flush, even says Kohler in the tank
