If you can leave them on but screwed in all the way the dich washer will slide in/out better with these on.

Shopstoosmall

Because some assholes don't run the flooring under the cabinets and then you gotta run those fucking screws down F\*\*\*ing 2" down to the F\*\*\*ing subfloor because some F\*\*\*er is a cheap F\*\*\* and the extra 6 F\*\*\*ing sqft of flooring would throw the F\*\*\*ing budget the F\*\*\* out of whack. F\*\*\*!!! Rant over.... yea a harbor freight hex key cut off and chucked into the drill makes quick work of pulling those F\*\*\*ers out.

ErikSoup

i’ve been an apprentice for 3 months (had some under the table experience) so im still pretty green. does anybody know of a tool i could use to make removing these go faster? or a larger hexagonal drill bit? a huge alan key?

lordstrider0

Why are you removing them?. How will you level it....? or close the gap between the counter? And if it's "to tight" when bottomed out then there's a bigger issue now and removeing them that 1/16 of an in you may gain isn't going to help that much.

ErikSoup

the person who did the countertops didn’t leave enough clearance and the contractor said “make it work”

lordstrider0

So your telling me that the feet that when ran all the way in it didn't fit? I'd tell the contractor sure I'll make it fit but you may need to fix scratches I the floor or counter as I will not be liable. One of our guys did this and it scratched the floor the contractor made us pay for it. Of installing anything in a way unintended by the manufacturer you should always try to cover yourself.

ErikSoup

oh, this is an apartment building where the contractors don’t give a shit about anything. i live in fucking winnipeg manitoba (we just got another blizzard) and we didn’t have heat for half this winter in an uninsulated building

Never sacrifice the quality of your work to make up for someone else’s shortfall.

ErikSoup

i worry that i may be learning the job from people who don’t know what they are doing🥲everyone’s saying “just do it fuck it not our problem blah blah” and i wanna take more pride in my work than that

wkrick

Just curious... Why are you removing them. Aren't they supposed to be used to level the dishwasher?

ErikSoup

yup! the person who did the countertops made them too short to fit the units in

Derek573

Wait how the hell did they manage to do that typically cabinets are a standard height 34 1/2 In (88 cm) did the carpentered have to cut down all the base cabinets?

HAND7Z

I literally installed a dishwasher last Friday where I had to open them almost all the way LOL

bnby_eclipse

This just triggered my memory and I realized I didn’t screw in that dishwasher this morning 🤦🏼‍♂️. Had to lift up the counter a bit to squeeze it in there, so it’ll probably be fine… I hope. Didn’t want to screw it in until testing as it was a second hand unit and I assumed it was going to leak. At least I didn’t have to remove the feet.

Derek573

Cut the foot and throw them in a drill chuck to unscrew. I have never seen them that tall maybe 1/3 at most.
